Chapters Black Sunshine *fixed*
Equestria was in grave danger. Tirek has absorbed the magic from almost all the ponies in Equestria. The only one that remained was the alicorn Twilight Sparkle. The two beings were engaged in combat currently. The two so far proved to be almost completely even in terms of magical ability and strength. At least that's what it seemed. Tirek was getting angry, He was actually having trouble with a pony. Tirek original plan was to absorb her magic too, but the rage boiled inside him, he no longer cared about her magic. He wanted to see her suffer. He didn't want the ponies to know that it was getting to him so he hid his anger.
"Impressive, however I will no longer, be holding back. I am going to kill you.” Tirek snapped his fingers. Then came all of her friends, including Discord, each in a bubble, they floated above the battlefield surprised at the sudden appearance. "Now your friends can watch me kill you."
Twilight's friends gasped at what they heard. However Twilight showed no fear, she was going to fight, even till the end if she had to. She charged her most powerful magic attack preparing to launch it at Tirek. The blast was gigantic, it was as big as the mountains and was as bright as the sun.
"I WILL DEFEAT YOU!” She launched the attack, it flew a crossed the field at a very fast rate, Tirek caught the attack, but was struggling to keep it from exploding, He then smiled. Tirek began absorbing the magic that was launched, he sucked it up like a drink and he gained even more power. Twilight and her friends were in shock. 'Impossible' they all thought. Tirek successfully absorbed the attack.
"No way, I put all of my magic into that attack." Twilight was now afraid. She had never felt this scared. It was like she was frozen, unable to move a single muscle.
Tirek was laughing, he had won. He slapped Twilight to the mountain, he then charged and started punching Twilight into the mountain. Twilight was struggling to breath, she couldn't fight back due to being drained by the attack.
Meanwhile in Tartarus, Tirek had opened a portal, invisible to the other side, revealing what was happening. The princesses were in chains without their magic, they were watching what has happened. They were all angry, however the most apparent one was Celestia, She had veins popping out. She could feel her sanity twist, but she was too angry to care. She is watching Twilight, the pony who was like a daughter to her, get the most painful beating of a lifetime.
"That MONSTER!!!"
Luna and Cadance looked at Celestia and saw only anger. They had never seen Celestia so angry ever before. Sure they had seen her upset sometimes, but the look on Celestia’s eyes, it was almost terrifying how somepony you thought was so calm, be so angry. Luna did not know how to comfort her, she still tried
"I'm sorry sister but there's nothing we can do now." They did not see it but inside Celestia a darkness grows. This darkness has haunted her ever since she became a princess. It was lurking deep inside her preparing to be released. This darkness was fueled by rage, and the desire for revenge. That darkness was Black Sunshine.
Back in Ponyville, Twilight's friends watched in horror as Twilight was being beat into a pulp. She was punched into the mountain and then she started coughing blood. She tried fighting back but it was pointless. All she could do was take it.
Spike was trying not to cry, but was not successful. "Twilight."
Fluttershy was crying, more than she ever before, "W-why, why did all of this happen?"
Rarity was mad. "That MONSTER!"
Rainbow Dash was punching the bubble, trying to break free to help Twilight. "I have to help her!"
Applejack closed her eyes with tears floating down on her face."Ah don't think she’s gonna make it girls."
Pinkie Pie’s mane flattened as she was crying. "No, Twilight,"
Discord was angry. Not entirely at Tirek. But at himself. "No. No! NO!!" He then slammed his claw and paw at the bubble. He had never wanted any of this to happen. Discord, hated what was happening, he may have once been bad, but what Tirek was doing was far beyond Discord's line, Discord would never be so brutal. Discord only recently discovered true friendship and it seems he was going to lose one of them.
“If only I had never listened if only I...."
Fluttershy stopped crying, to see Discord traumatized. "This is not your fault Dis-"
"What are you talking about? This is ALL my fault. I listened to Tirek, I helped him gain the power. How is this not my fault."
Twilight was on the ground covered in her own blood, she couldn't stand up. Tirek was enjoying himself and he decided 'why not make suffer emotionally as well'?
"Now, watch as I kill your friends one by one." Twilight gasped at what she just heard. Tirek snapped his fingers, popping AppleJack's bubble. She fell on the ground, then Tirek lifted Applejack with his magic. She looked so more scared than ever. Tirek then fired his magic at her, she was vaporized into oblivion.
APPLEJAACCK!!!!!!!!!" Everypony screamed. Discord knew that the others were next. Then him.
Back in Tartarus, the princesses watched in horror as Tirek repeated the process with each pony. First AppleJack, then Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie and neither had the chance to say goodbye. Twilight began to breakdown and cry. She was watching her friends suffer one by one. Celestia's anger rises and so does the disire for veangance. "THAT BASTARD!!" Celestia screamed.
Luna looked at her sister finally realizing what is going on. A dark aura started surrounding Celestia, it covered her like a blanket, she,hasn't felt,this much dark magic since King Sombre."Tia, you have to calm down."
Celestia did not listen, she was full of anger and hatred. She can't hold it back much longer. Through the portal, Tirek stomped on Fluttershy. Her guts are splatter all over the ground. Discord for the first time was crying. The first one to consider him a friend was now dead, splattered all over the ground. Only he and spike were left. Tirek was about to give Discord the same fate, he walked up to his bubble and was about to use his magic to pop it.
"STOP, PLEASE!" Twilight cried, "Just kill me!” she said as she cryed. "I don't want to live anymore!"
Celestia's blood vessels started popping out. Her blood was boiling like soup. "You suffered long enough, now it’s time for me to put you out of your misery." Tirek said. Celestia started shaking, trying to break free.
Discord attempted to destroy the bubble but that did not work. "No. Twilight. No!" Spike tried to do the same with his but to no avail.
Tirek charged a magic attack, "DIEE!" The attack was launched at Twilight. And the attack directly hit her. Twilight has been reduced to ashes.
"NOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Discord and Spike screamed. The only pony Discord had left to call a friend was now dead. Twilight was Spike's best friend and now she is gone. A waterfall fell from Spike's eyes.
Celestia couldn't hold the darkness in any longer. The darkness within exploded out, causing smoke. Luna and Cadence looked at Celestia in fear, once the smoke cleared up, it revelled Celestina's equivalent of Nightmare Moon. She doubled in size, her coat turned grey and her mane turned black. Her cutie mark was the same except it was black. She opened her eyes. Her pupil was slit, but was white. Her pupil was surrounded by blackness. Her magic had returned, Luna and Cadence were confused by that.
Celestia screamed in rage, "I WILL KILL YOU!" Celestia broke free of her chains, then explosions appeared and storns formed. Luna and cadence looked at her with terror in there eyes. When it was all over, Celestia breaths heavily.
"Tia, what happened to you." Celestia ignores her and she flyes out of the portal.
Tirek, Spike and Discord was surprised to see an Alicorn appeared out of nowhere. Discord took a closer look to see a familiar face. "Celestia? Is that you!"
"Celestia is no more. I am Black Sunshine."
Discord widen his eyes, he had never thought that Celestia of all ponies had darkness in her heart. He look into Black Sunshine's eyes and saw one thing was on her mind. Vengeance.
The dark aura started surrounding her, the sky turned pure white, and the sun. Black. Black Sunshine was angry. She looked Tirek straight in the eye and said one word.
"Die." She teleported in Tireks face and punched him in the face. He screamed in pain, he grabbed hold of his own face. B.Sunshine smiled. "Aw what's the matter does it hurt. Good." Tirek looked back with anger he attempts to punch her. Black Sunshine caught the punch and she broke his arm. Tirek once again cried in pain. "Scream fool. SCREAM AND BEG FOR MERCY!" she summoned lightning from her horn and she began to electrify him. The pain became unbearable, Tirek felt like his heart pumped at a very fast rate and the burns from the shocks was to painful to even describe.
"Stop, stop please."
"Stop what, THIS!" She powered up the lightning. Tirek couldn't take it anymore, he screamed he begged for mercy over and over.
She finally stopped to look into his eyes. She saw fear, Tirek felt nothing but fear. Black Sunshine laughed at how pathetic he had become.
"Do not worry. I'll make the pain disappear." She teleported up,to his face, and then launched Tirek in the air with an uppercut. He flew out all the way into space.
"THIS IS WHERE YOU DIE!!!" B.Sunshine used a black magic blast to launch at Tirek. When the blast was nowhere in sight when ithad exploded. Tirek was no more.
The magic that Tirek stole from everypony returned to their rightful owners.
The bubbles that kept Discord and Spike floating was now gone. Both of them fell to the ground. Spike got up and ran to B.Sunshine to thank her. However she walked pass him, her eyes was set on Discord "One down, one to go." She said.
Discord heard what was said and then a mysterious feeling came to him, 'W-why a-am I sss-shivering like this? I-is this f-fear?' The answer to that was yes. Discord crawled back only to hit a wall. B.Sunshine was walking closer, closer and closer. Then out of nowhere Luna appeared. She had her magic back when Tirek died, so she teleported to the situation. "Celestia, stop this, please this is not the answer."
B.Sunshine looked at Luna and said,"Silence, he is a traitor to Equestria. And so he dies. And I am not Celestia, not anymore."
"Your wrong. I know you’re still in there, please come back, this is not who you are."
"I SAID SILENCE!!" She began to charge at Discord, she tried to stab him with her horn but Discord barely caught it. She rose her head up with Discord still holding on. Spike ran near Luna, She did not intervene knowing she would not stand a chance. B.Sunshine's horn was now near Discord's face. She then did a surprise slash down with her horn, leaving a huge scar on Discord's face. He screamed in agonizing pain. He now has a scar that he has to wear on his face for all of eternity.
Luna then decided to launch a magic blast at B.Sunshine to distract her. "Go, get out of here."
Discord used his magic, that returned to him after Tirek died, to teleport to a place far away.
B.Sunshine walked up to Luna and she slapped her right in the face. "You are lucky your my sister. I'll figure out what to do with you later, let's go." B.Sunshine flew away to the castle, Luna lifted Spike with her magic and she followed.
Discord bent down on his knees. His scar dripping blood, and tears slipping past his eyes. "I'm sorry.”
Black sunshine, Spike and Luna fly's to the direction were Canderlot can be found. The sky stays its white color, the sun stays black. The new sky was strange to everypony. Rather then the sun providing light, it now provides darkness, to prevent being blinded by the new sky.
Cadence and Shining armor, follows the group, on a chariot, to where they were heading. "If what you said back at the crystal empire is true, then what do we do? I've sworn an oath to protect the kingdom and the princesses no matter what." Said Shining armor
"You're not a guard anymore. You know that right?"
"Yes but I am still loyal, besides I never swore off my oath."
Cadence returned her thoughts twords Black Sunshine "I don't know, all we can do is hope that Celestia is still deep inside Black Sunshine."
"And if she's not?" Shining questioned.
Cadence paused for a few seconds. Silence nothing but silence.
They all reached the castle. Black sunshine teleported into the throne room. The guards around the area looked at B.Sunshine with a mixture of confusion and fear. "Greetings my loyal subjects, do not let my apperence fool you. For I am Celestia."
All the guards were surprised. They had unsure looks on there faces. But then "Celestia" Changed back to the way she was before. The guards then bowed.
"Celestia" was lost in thought 'Discord, I was a fool for trusting him. I'll make him pay with his blood.' "Celestia" was now comming up with a plan. 'I will kill him, the only problem is that he could be anywhere. He might have left Equestria by now. What if I expanded Equestria? Expanded it all across the world?' "Celestia" smiled. 'Then he will have nowhere to run, he will be mine!' "Celestia" tried not to laugh.
"Commander, gather up every single ally we have, tell them to come to the castle, I have a very important speech to tell." Celestia commanded. The commander saluted and he headed off. "Celestia" smiled, wickedly. 'Not only will I have the power I deserve. I will also have my revenge.'
Discord was in the middle of a field just outside of Equestria. He knew that B.Sunshine was powerful. She killed Tirek with ease, despite him having the magic of everypony Equestria, including Discord. Discord's new scar was still bleeding, the blood still driped across his face. 'I really should get a bandage for this.' He snaped his finger and summoned a bandage around his face. The moment he did, his head began to thromb and he felt little...... Tired. "Aughhh. What was that?" Discord asked himself. 'Fine an ice pack too.' And so he summoned an ice pack on his head. He began to feel a slight bit fatigued. 'What's going on? Am I sick?" He decided to summon some medicine, when it appeared he felt more fatigue. He then noticed his bandage was glowing a blackish color. He unwrapped it to reveal his scar blinking a black glow. Discord now realized what was wrong. 'Black Sunshine used her horn to cut me, she must have used some kind of spell. I guess that means I can't just use my power constantly like I used to.'
Back at the castle, their were thousands of ponies gather round outside. Their were also multiple other creatures from other nations as well. "Celestia" is flying above, preparing a speech. "Attention, everypony. Thank you all for coming. As you know Tirek, the one that absorbed the magic of everypony in Equestria, has been killed by my hoofs. However the traitor Discord still lives. And the elements of harmony now lie dead." Everyone tilted there head down with respect. "But that is not the reason why I called all of you here today." "Celestia" began transforming back into Black Sunshine. An aura of darkness appeared around her, then a flash of black, Black Sunshine arose. "This is my new form, call me Black Sunshine." The ponies in the group looked in awe of the new appearance, there princess now took. "Now onto business, for thousands of years me and my sister, Luna had rose the sun and the moon. My sun made the plants grow, it also provided the energy every living being needed to survive. While my sister's moon controlled the oceans tide, preventing them from going out of control. The citizens of Equestria has thanked and praised use for all of those years. But what of the other nations, some have allied with us. But there are the ungrateful ones. The ones that shun use and even become our enemies. I have decided to take those nations down. Its time for me and my sister to gain the power we deserve. The allying nations will live as long as they claim there nations in the name of Equestria. Those who refuse will be known as our enemies. This is the begaining of my new empire." New banners began to rise. The banners had the image of a black sun, shining down on a group of ponies bowing down before it.
"Wait' sompony in the crowed shouted. That sompony was Flash Sentry.
"Is that an objection" B.Sunshine said.
"You're talking about taking over multiple nations and forcing them to become one with our nation. Thats just madness." Said Flash
Shining armor and Cadence nodded their heads.
"You're a brave one I give you that. The nations across the world all have enemies. There could be wars going on. There might be a battle taking place right now as I speak. There was never true harmony. This is for the greater good."
Luna shook her head. 'My real sister would never say such things. She would have figured out a peaceful way.'
"No! This not the awnser. This not what Twilight wou-" Right when he mentioned Twilight. B.Sunshine teleported in front of him and she blasted him with a dark magic attack. Vaporizing him instantly.
Everyone was cowering in fear. They witnessed the princess kill, no murder, one of the ponies that had been loyal ever since he was a colt. "Any more objections." She said. Everyone shook there heads. Except for one, dragon.
"Yes, I agree with Flash we can't do this." Said Spike.
"Sympathizing with traitors is an offence aguenst my rule, guards arrest him." The guards summoned magical handcuffs around Spike's wrist and then they took him to the dungeon. "Now back to the task at hoof. We are going to invade the Changelings. They have been our enemies for a long time. They will be the first ones to fall."
(3 hours later)
Shining armor and Cadence are in there castle talking about the speech that took place 3 hours ago. "Her plan is madness, we can't do this." Cadence said?
"We have no choice. She is now more powerful then ever. " said shining
"We have to rebel against her. I'm not becoming a part of this." Said Cadence. Then out of nowhere she appeared.
"Is that so, then you are a traitor."
They both looked at B.Sunshine with the look of terror in there eyes. “Shining armor, remember the oath? You said you will serve me and Equestria till the day you die no matter what. If that is still true then you will arrest this traitor.”
“No. She is trying to manipulate you. Please don't Shining armor I love you!” said Cadence with a tear in her eye.
“You will arrest her or I will kill you both.”
Shining armor looked at Cadence, then he looked at B.Sunshine. he repeated the process. Then he made his choice.
He used his magic to stun Cadence and then he tackled her. “Hahahahaha wise choice. Shining. For your proven loyalty, I now promote you to general."
Discord was wandering the border of Equestria. He had no idea where to go. He knew he was being tracked down by B.Sunshine. His power had been reduced by the scar. He hated that scare. It was a reminder of what he did. He hated what he had done. He hated what he did. He hated what he was. He hated what he had become.
Twilight and the mane six were now walking in a place they had never seen before. It was beautiful. There were fields of flowers, there was a waterfall, and mountains covered in luscious green grass.
"Where are we?" asked Twilight.
"It's beautiful." Said Fluttershy.
"Indeed it is." Said a voice behind them.
They turned around and saw an alicorn. He had a flowing yellow sparkling mane and tail. His coat was white but it glowed brightly. It would have been blinding but for some reason it's not. It's like seeing light in its true form.
"Who are y'all?" Asked Applejack with astonishment.
"I am Sulunar, former king of Equestria." After saying that the Mane six gasped. "And you must be the ones that the prophecy has foretold."
"Prophecy?" asked Rarity.
"The prophecy of the six ponies destined to show the world the true meaning of friendship. And the ones to guide the chosen one."
"Who is the chosen one?"
"Let me start at the beginning." He casted a spell at a pond. The poned revealed a picture.
"Think of this as a movie."
Thousands of years ago. A colt was in a cave crying at the lose of his parents. He was a unicorn with, a mohawked styled mane, his coat was a light brown. His eyes were unique. Where there was supposed to be white, it was yellow and they were red. He had a sharp bucked tooth as well.
“Is that Discord!? Why is he a pony?" Asked Pinkie Pie.
"He wasn't always a Draconequus. And back then he was Sidroc."
Sidroc was lying down in a cave. His village was attacked by a group of the dishonored ones, otherwise known as the Draconequus. They are ponies that was cursed by the king, for dishonoring the kingdom. Some of them formed a resistance group. They burned and pillaged pony civilisations. One of them went into Sidroc's home and he killed his parents. Sidroc barely escaped into a cave.
Sidroc was founded by a group of guards. They told him that the king wanted to see him. Sidroc went with the guards and he found himself in the royal castle. He meet the king. He told Sidroc that he was destined for greatness. The proof of that was his magic. It was not like anypony else's magic. He can summon whatever he wants at will, he can change objects into other things, and bend reality itself. Sidroc became the king's pupil to learn how to control his power and use it for good.
100 years had passed. Sidroc learned many things, he recently discovered that the king had a 4 year old daughter named Celestia. Sidroc became her very first friend. They pulled pranks with his power and Sidroc taught her things he learned from the king. 3 years later the Queen gave birth to another filly named Luna. But she died in childbirth, the kingdom was left to mourn.
Sidroc had a family as well. He had a wife named Emerald wind and a son named Flame Rider.
Emerald Wind was a green Pegasus with a brown stylish mane, her cutie mark was an Emerald with wings. Flame rider was an orange unicorn with mane that looked like fire, his cutie mark was a fire burning brightly. Sidroc didn't have a cutie mark for some reason. Sidroc built a city around where his house was and named the city Manehattan. However the city was being attacked by the resistance. Meanwhile he was at the castle playing with the princesses. Back at the city. There were burning building and crys for help. It was a living nightmare. Sidroc came back and saw the city destroyed. He saw corpses everywhere, of both ponies and draconequus.
He ran to his house, to see if his family was okay. Emerald Wind was found dead on the floor, Flame Rider was nowhere in sight. He ran outside and saw his son lying down with corpses of Draconoquises surrounding him. Sidroc ran up to Flame Rider and he carried him in his hooves.
"I'm sorry father I tried to save them. But I failed." That was his last words.
Sidroc was beyond angry. He swore vengeance. He hunted down every single Draconequus and he killed them. He promised to drive them extinct. An eventually he did. This was the wrong thing to do, some of them hardly did anything wrong. A Draconequus was meant to one day redeem him or herself, but now that can't happen. Sidroc dishonored the kingdom and thus he turned into a Draconequus.
Sidroc was more mad than ever. His teacher the king and the first one to ever care for him had turned him into the thing that he hated ever since he first saw one. The Draconequus killed both his parents then his wife and son, and now he is one. In Sidroc's eyes Draconequus brought nothing but chaos, and now that they're gone, he was punished, it was madness.
"If he wants chaos I'll give him chaos."
And chaos he brought in his own way. Rather than pillaging villages, he used his power for his own entertainment. He turned clouds into cotton candy, he turned towns upside down, and so much more.
King Soluner and Sidroc meet face to face. Celestia and Luna are now hiding somewhere unknown to Sidroc. It was a long and hard-fought battle, However Sidroc proved to much. Solunar had a vision of the future. He saw Sidroc being turned to stone by his daughters, he saw Nightmare moon, he saw Chrysalis, he saw Sombra, he saw Tirek, he saw Sidroc returning twice, however the second time he saw the light again thanks to six ponies. Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy. He also saw Celestia changing into Black Sunshine, and his final vision was Sidroc and Black Sunshine meeting for the final battle. "You won't always be how you are right now, you must fulfill your destiny." He said to Sidroc, And then the king disappeared.
Sidroc took his place and he continued to use his chaos throughout the land. He felt like he was in paradise.
"Who would have thought that chaos can be so much fun." He said to himself.
"I think I should have a new name for myself, hmm what should be. I know how about Discord, it's catchy and it's my old name switched around a bit. It's perfect! I am Discord the spirit of chaos! I'm god, hahahahahaha!"
"Oh my. He told me he never wanted talk about his past, I never thought that it would so horrible." Said Fluttershy
"Wow I never thought that Discord even had a heart but he had a family and he lost it." Said Rarity.
"My past and his actually sounded similar at first but then it went downhill. He was your student?" Twilight asked.
"Yes he was. And your right your past and his are similar, I'll bet that if things turned out a little differently you would've become just like him."
Discord was sitting on a rock thinking, 'Strange, I don't feel like causing chaos anymore, maybe their deaths affected me more then I thought, maybe I'm just sick of it and I haven't realized it yet.'
Then suddenly a changeling appeared out of a tree. He looked beaten up, like he just got out of a fight.
"You on the rock you have to help me, its the ponies they attacked us please help me."
'Doesn't he know who I am, even if he didn't why would he still. Is he that desperate?' Discord thought. "Fine, lead the way."
The Changeling ran back the way he came and Discord followed. They ran and ran and ran until they found the hive. It was messy. There was dead bodies everywhere. The smell was terrible.
"Oh no. The queen! Where's the queen!" The Changeling said.
The Changeling looked and looked but he eventually found Chrysalis. She was at the brink of death. She was breathing heavily and her breathing was slow. She opened her eyes and said
"A survivor?" Then she look to the right and saw Discord. "D-discord? She was looking for you."
Discord knew exactly who "she" was.
'But why? Why would she do this?' Then a memory hit him like a slap in the face. He did the same thing to the old draconequuses, long ago, he realized what he did was wrong when he reformed. But to actually see it…..
'Desiring Vengeance really can push you far.'
"What happened?” He asked even though he already knew.
Chrysalis was getting a tear in her eye, "They killed us, they killed us all. I begged for mercy but she wouldn't listen. She also said she's going to do the same thing to all of the nations that are not allied with her." Tears were now falling out like a waterfall.
"I know I did bad things but, I was just doing it for my changelings, we were starving, I just wanted to save them. But I failed them. Your heart, I can sense that it is not the same as it was before, you changed. Discord you have to stop her, for my Changelings and for everyone I b-beg y-you p-please p-please p-please." And like that she died.
"Your majesty no!" The Changeling wept over the loss of his queen.
"Chrysalis, you didn't deserve this." Said Discord, he used his magic to create a hole to bury her in and summon a tombstone to mark her grave, he ignored the tiredness he was gaining and he proceeded to bury her. When he filled up the hole, he put the tombstone on top of it and carved the words. Rest in peace.
'Now I know I've changed from who I was a few months ago.'
The Changeling was mad. He slammed his hooves on the ground. "Those ponies are going to pay for this! I'll kill them!”
"No, Vengeance is not the answer. Believe me I know. I dealt with something similar long ago, I had vengeance but In the end I suffered even more."
"What do I do now?” I'm the last changeling. I don't know what to do."
Discord was thinking. "For now just stick with me."
"Alright I will. What's your name?”
"I'm Di- no I'm Sidroc."
"I’m Wasp.”
"Alright let's go Wasp."
'If I don't stop her who will?' Sidroc thought to himself.
Rise Of The Black Sun Empire.
Equestria was a land of peace and harmony. That was changing extremely fast. Each town in Equestria was highly patrolled. New laws came. Ponies had to pay high taxes, citizens are always having to reveal their identity to every guard they pass. The guards patrolling are no longer bounded by Celestia's old laws, they harassed the civilians whenever they don't pay the fines and the guards arrest ponies whenever they speak out against the new lawes. Truly, there was no freedom.
Black Sunshine has heard of a village that disconnected itself from Equestrian laws. She decided to change that. "Guards, I am going on a trip. Make sure Luna doesn't mess up my new laws while I'm gone. Oh, and one more thing. Make sure my favorite prisoner gets feed up well, he'll need his strength for the 'show' I will be hosting." And so she teleported off.
Black Sunshine teleported near the village. She studied this village very closely, everypony had the same cutie mark, an equal sign. They believed that different cutie marks leads to everypony being different and that being different leads to unhappiness. They believe that by being all the same, they will find happiness.
'What a bunch of idiots. They denied the only thing that gives them a purpose in life. Somepony is brainwashing them, but who?' Black Sunshine used her magic to scan the ponies in it, everypony was the same, except for one. 'This pony is the one, I can't believe I didn't look into this village before.' Black Sunshine thought to herself. 'I think it's time to pay them a little visit.'
Black Sunshine landed in the village. Everypony looked at her with a mixture of surprise and fear. "Surprised?"
One of them spoke up and asked, "Who are you?"
B. Sunshine smiled and said, "You don't pay attention to current events do you? I used be Princess Celestia, but due to some 'changes' I am now Empress Black Sunshine."
The ponies were in shock, the princess was now an empress. A very white pony walked up to B.Sunshine. "My name is Double Diamond. And I see you have your own unique cutie mark." He said, referring to the black sun on her flank.
"Of course I do. This cutie mark is the symbol of both who I am and my empire. I came here to learn more of this village, to my understanding you all had your own cutie mark but it was removed."
"Yes that is true. Let me introduce you to our founder. Starlight Glimmer."
'So that's the name of the brainwasher, Starlight Glimmer.' "Why don't you go get her. I'll wait here.’
"Very well." Double Diamond left to get Starlight Glimmer.
Starlight Glimmer, after hearing everything about B.Sunshine, introduced herself, "Welcome, I am pleased to have yo-."
"Spare me your introductiones. I already know everything. And I mean everything." B.Sunshine said, Starlight Glimmer had a look of concern. "I know how you steal these ponies cutie marks with the 'staff of sameness.' However I know that staff is a fake and I know your secret."
"Starlight, what's she talking about?" Asked a blue pony.
"You must be mista-." Starlight was interrupted by B.Sunshine.
"No I'm not." B.Sunshine used her magic to revel Starlight's cutie mark. Everypony gasped. "You have been telling these ponies that cutie marks brought pain. But you’re wrong. They give ponies the power to do what they do best. It doesn't matter if you're different." B.Sunshine claimed.
"You lied to them and you kept your cutie mark. Not only that but you also took power into my land, and that is an offense against my rule. Prepare to be punished!"
Starlight fired her most powerful spell, but B.Sunshine just stood there and she took it full force. She didn't appear to be hurt at all. Starlight was scared for her life once she saw this. "How, I studied that spell for years."
"Hahahahahaha, I guess I'm just too powerful. Oh and by the way I was going to arrest you but you've given yourself the death sentence." B. Sunshine, teleported right into her face. Starlight jumped back and landed her back on the ground. She crawled back words with a look of terror in her eye. "Don't worry I won't kill you.........They will."
Everypony gasped, "What use? We can't, we've never killed anypony before." One of them said.
"Yes but she is not 'anypony' she is the one that took away a part of each of you. She may have taken even more then that, she took away your freedom she brainwashed you, she lied to you, she used all of you. This is your chance for vengeance! Make her pay for everything she did!" When she said that, her cutie mark flashed. And the villager's eyes flashed as the saw it.
The villagers became angry, they all wanted to make Starlight suffer. The pegasuses of the group lifted Starlight's front hooves. The earth ponies held her on the ground. The unicorns charged at her one at a time, Each one stabbing her with their horns. Even the foals. Starlight bleed to death.
Double Diamond breathed heavily and said, "I feel so, alive."
"WE'RE FREE!" A dark blue mare screamed, then they all cheered.
B.Sunshine smiled. 'Beautiful vengeance. The old me would be throwing up at this point. I'm glad I've changed.'
"Hahahahaha, well done my little ponies. You have served the Black Sun empire by executing a traitor. And you are the first other then me to do so you will be known throughout history. For your services I award each of you with 50 thousand bits, and I will see that there will be improvements to the village."
"Thank you empress Black Sunshine, we will go to that cave and get back our cutie marks, and then we will continue to serve the empire."
the town thanked in unison.
'Perfect, now we have full control over all of Equestria. Next up the world. Then HE will have nowhere to run.'
(2 days later)
The royal guard were equipped with new armor. The color before was white and yellow, now they were black and red. The helmet now had 2 horns on the top rather than the brushes. The armor now had short spikes on across its back. That was the first thing Spike noticed when the guards came in.
"It’s time."
Spike knew what that meant, he was told to get up and walk with the guards. He looked to his left to see Cadence crying. 'Poor mare.' He thought.
He and the guards approached the new exit of the dungeon, he heard the cheers outside as he walked near the light. He walked up to an iron gate. Outside of it was a stadium with helmet less guards sitting on their seats cheering, the stadium ground was all sand, and there were weapons and armor on the ground, swords, shields, helmets, axes, maces, bows and arrows and more. civilians sat around the higher levels, guards sat on reserved seats located closer to the ground, and last but not least, Black Sunshine on a royal throne, the throne was white with the black sun symbol imprinted above her head. To Spike's left he saw a helmet, with holes to slip his spikes through, and 2 swords. He picked up the swords and he putted on the helmet.
'This is what I trained for. My survival.'
"Fillies and gentlecolts, welcome to the very first arena battle." The announcer said as the crowd cheered. "In the arena, you will see prisoners fight for survival and their freedom. Today we have the baby dragon known as Spike vs The griffon known as Gilda! Lower the gates."
Spike walked out with the helmet on and one sword in each hand. Gilda walked out with a helmet but no weapon. They remembered each other, however neither of them said anything, they stood ground, waiting for one of them to make a move.
Gilda attacked with her claws, Spike blocked the hits with his swords. Spike jumped over Gilda and he attempted to slash her back but to no avail, Gilda flew backwards and she tried to stab Spike in the back. Spike turned around almost instantaneously and he blocked. He then punched Gilda away.
After that blow something awoken in him, he hit a living thing. He thought that if he had ever hit a living being he would feel terrible. But something awoken in him, he felt the adrenaline pump in him, he felt the heat of battle. Something had awoken within Spike, at first he was fighting to survive. Now he wanted to fight even more. He charged at Gilda and he slashed her with the sword in his left claw, he hit a wing, Gilda lost the ability to fly.
The fight carried on. The feeling that Spike was having grew as he continued to fight. He wanted to fight more and more, he wanted his swords to stay in his claws, he wanted to feel the rush of battle. A realization hit Spike, this was his destiny. He's not somepony's assistant. He's not a dragon, destined to just send and receive messages. He is a warrior. His body began to change.
To everypony's surprise, Spike began to grow, his head became more like a more grown dragon, his back grew wings, his spikes began to grow about 6 inches long, and his muscles grew as well, when he stopped growing, he grew 7,5 feet tall. Gilda looked at Spike in shock.
There was a long pause, Spike looked at his hands and he griped them a couple times, he noticed the wings on his back and flapped them a little bit. 'My body changed. Oh well I still have a fight to finish.' Spike gripped the two swords and he spat on them, he then smeared his spit all over the sword, everypony was a little disgusted. Spike then blew green fire on his swords. The swords are now covered in green fire, the heat would be too intense to hold the swords, except for dragons. Gilda took a look of surprise. Spike smiled.
"The spit of a dragon is very flammable, and it prevents my swords from melting when a breath my fire on it, pretty neat huh." Spike said in a deeper voice then when he was smaller. "This ends now!"
B.Sunshine was sitting on her throne with an amused look. 'Very clever.' She thought. She then used a spell on Spike without him, or anypony else noticing. 'This should prevent him from growing any bigger. I personally prefer him this way.' Just then Luna walked in. B.Sunshine smiled.
"Welcome sister, please take a seat." Luna took the throne designed for her, it was black with a white moon imprinted above her head. "I'm pleased to see that you changed your mind about not seeing the fight."
Luna looked down and saw a very familiar dragon, holding two flaming swords, facing of a helmeted griffon. She paid no attention to the griffon, only to the dragon. "Is that...Spike?"
"Indeed it is, I think he was enjoying the fight, do not worry though, I put a spell on him to prevent him from growing any bigger."
Spike and Gilda stared at each other, Gilda charged at Spike and slashed her claws, only to have one of them chopped off, he somehow gained better reflexes. 'Strange, it must have something to do with me being a dragon.' Spike thought. Gilda screamed in agonizing pain.
'But I don't remember gaining any reflexes when I first got bigger, am I unique? Oh yea still got a fight to finish.' She was then kicked in the face, she was knocked down on the ground. She got up on her hind legs only to find the flaming swords at her neck.
"And the winner is Spike the dragon!" The crowed cheered when the announcer claimed Spike's victory. "But one question remains, will Gilda live or die? Our empress Black Sunshine will declare that. If she raises her hoof in the air then Gilda will live. If the hoof is slammed down then she dies."
There was a long moment of silence. Gilda was extremely nervous. Luna was hoping that B.Sunshine will raise her hoof in the air. Spike was having a huge conflict within himself. His old self is telling I'm not to do it no matter what she decided.
'I can't kill her. Can I? She may have been mean to my old friends but still. What am I talking about she lost fair and square and I only proved to be better, but she fought with honor, I'd be giving her an honorable death.' Spike was thinking to himself. 'If she is to die then so be it.'
Black Sunshine pointed her hoof outward, then she slammed it down. Luna gasped. Then Spike chopped her head off. Luna got up and walked out with a hint of anger. B.Sunshine smiled. 'I can feel your hatred towards me growing, you can't hide yourself from me forever.......Nightmare Moon!'
The crowed was in silence, then they cheered again. "Gilda was given an honorable battle and death may she rest in peace." Then Spiked walked back through the gate and back into the dungeon. He went back into his cell, and he lays down on the ground. 'The gladiator life may not be so bad after all.' Then he noticed his new wings not going down when he lied down, it was really annoying to Spike.
"Now I know how Twilight feels." He then remembered them all they all popped into his mind. 'I wonder where they are now.' He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
The Mane Six walked around the beautiful fields of the afterlife with Soluner. They were still astonished by Discord's, or Sidroc's, backstory. There were many questions on their heads.
"Ah didn't think that Discord was the vengeful type, he drove a whole darn race to extinction. It's been 3 months and I still can't wrap my head around it." Applejack said.
Soluner simply shook his head and said. "He's not." The mane six looked at him with a lot of confusion. "He was being controlled, by the spirit of darkness." Soluner exclaimed
The Elements of Harmony all looked at Soluner with even more confusion. "The spirit of darkness? Who the hay is that?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"The spirit of darkness is dark itself, she is the one that creates darkness and spread it throughout the universe." The Elements all had a look of fascination.
"You see there are two spirits, the spirit of light, and the spirit of darkness. The spirit of light is named Yang and the spirit of darkness is named Yin. They are the mother and father of all that exist. The beings that are named 'immortal' are direct sons or daughters of Yin and Yang. I happen to be one of them. The beings that are named 'mortals" are beings created by the immortals. However we are all the children of Yin and Yang.
“Yin and Yang may be opposites but their bond is stronger than anything. Together they manage all that exist. Beings that are considered pure are not pure and the same goes for the ones considered pure evil. When someone is 'good' that means that Yang a higher influence on that individual then Yin however Yin still has an influence on him or her. The same goes for the other way around. The same logic goes for the world of the living and the afterlives." The Elements had a look of awe on their faces, they all had time to sink all of this information in.
After 30 minutes, Twilight finally asked, “This is extremely amazing, but what does this have to do with Discord, or Sidroc whatever?”
Soluner formed a look of worry. "Yin is responsible for giving use dark thoughts. Including vengeance. She normally wouldn't care about mortals. However, Sidroc was special. He had the power to bend reality. This troubled both Yin and Yang. With that kind of power, he can overthrow immortals and maybe even them. Yang didn't interfere, thinking that Sidroc overthrowing them might be his destiny."
"Wait, I thought Yin and Yang created everything that exist!” Exclaimed Pinkie Pie.
"Yes they did, however they do not control destiny, no being does. While Yang was willing to accept this fate, Yin wasn't. She decided to step in. Her plan, I assume, was to use her vengeful influence to corrupt Sidroc's mind, to change his destiny. All she needed was a reason to give him the desire for vengeance. When his family died, that was the opportunity she needed. And you know the rest. However, I believe there is more to her plan then I thought." After he said that, he casted a spell from his horn to the blue sky. The spell formed an image. "This is what happened after you died." The image showed Celestia turning into Black Sunshine and her killing Tirek then giving Discord the scar.
"W-what happened to her?" Asked Fluttershy with a tone of fear.
"My daughter, she has been cursed by Yin, there was no way I could have noticed at the time, but the moment my daughters were born they were given a dark power that alters their judgement."
"You mean like Nightmare Moon?"
"Yes and no. Nightmare Moon has a mind of her own. Nightmare Moon is a part of Luna that once in awhile talks to her. She usually tries to convince Luna to let her take her physical form. When she became jealous of Celestia, that's when she was persuaded to change from Luna to Nightmare Moon. That's why Luna says 'we' and 'us' she was referring to her and Nightmare Moon. Black Sunshine however works a little differently. Celestia was born with darkness deep inside of her. Unlike Luna, Celestia was never aware of it, and it is not alive. All she needed was two emotions, anger and desire. When she feels these emotions at the same time, she undergoes a transformation, Black Sunshine."
"This can't be!" Twilight exclaimed. "I've known her for years this can't be!"
"I'm afraid it gets worse." The image at the sky showed Black Sunshine's speech at Canterlot, then it showed her and her army killing changelings. They saw the blood fall from their corpses, and heard the cries for help. Then it showed Black Sunshine knocking over Chrysalis and then she stabbed her with her horn. Black Sunshine's mouth came to her ear.
"I didn't kill you. You did. You killed your changelings and yourself. Farewell Chrysalis." Then she flew off as did her soldiers.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Said Rainbow Dash as she covered her mouth with disgust.
"Ah don't blame ya. But I don't get it she has nothing to gain by doin’ this." Said Applejack
Fluttershy was breaking down in tears. "Why? Why would she do this?”
Applejack comforted her. "It's alright, just let it out."
Then the image showed Discord meeting Wasp, and they saw him holding Chrysalis in his arms, she begged Discord to avenge them then she died. The image now showed Black Sunshine in a village, they saw the villagers all having the same cutie mark. A black equal sign. Their leader, Starlight Glimmer was brainwashing the villagers and she has been doing so for years. Black Sunshine busted her and she convinced the villagers to kill Starlight. But it wasn't her words that convinced them. They noticed a black flash from Black Sunshine's cutie mark, then the villagers flew into a rage.
"She can corrupt other ponies!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Very observant Twilight Sparkle." Soluner said, sounding impressed. The image showed Spike, with a black helmet designed for dragons and two swords in his claws, standing outside of what looks like an arena. There was sand on the ground with weapons and armor, there was also a crowed cheering outside. Then the announcer came introducing Spike and Gilda, after he mentioned fighting.
The elements all had a look of shock written all over their faces. "She's making Spike fight?! He's no fighter, he's just a baby how could she do this!?" Rarity asked with a tone of anger.
Soluner was well aware of their confusion and rage. "I believe there is more to him then you realize."
The Mane Six looked at him as if he was crazy. The battle started, at first it was going smoothly, then something happened to Spike, he began to grow. Twilight knew what that meant, he was getting greedy. But why? Was he enjoying this? So much that he would want to fight more and more? Rarity nearly fainted, Fluttershy and Applejack had their eyes open wide, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash looked in awe.
"That is so.....Awesome. Look at him, he is about to kick Gilda's tail feathers." Said Rainbow Dash said.
"Ah think he's gonna do something worse then that. Something way worse." Said Applejack.
Fluttershy worried. "You don't mean he's gonna..." Then the image showed Spike slicing of Gilda's claw, then chop off her head. "This is horrible."
Twilight's head began to ache as questions filled up in her head. Soluner saw this and answered before she could ask. "You are wondering why he would get greedy over battle. And a lot more. You see, there is also an immortal for dragons. His name was 'Dracona'. He has the heart of a warrior and the mind of a leader. While I ruled as King half of Equestria was owned by the dragons. They did not like sharing the land with ponies, so their king, Dracona declared war, However his forces were overran by our forces. Dracona's mate at the time layed an egg. She was sick at the time and so she died. He didn't want his son to end up harmed, and so he buried his son's egg to hide him. Dracona then was ambushed later on in the war. Like me he just disappeared.
“That egg couldn't be hatched without a magical reaction and so it couldn't hatch. Thousands of years later, He was founded by my daughter. And the rest you should know. As for his new form, you know the saying. 'Like father like son.'"
The Elements took some time to sink it all in. They had just discovered that one of their very best friend was not only a dragon, but a demigod. Then out of nowhere a dragon landed right next to them. This dragon that was actually less, fat than most dragons. He was not as big either. He stood on two feet and he had wings. He looked just like how Spike is now. Only a lot taller and a lot more muscle. His scales was crimson with blue.
"Well I'll be damned. My son didn't turn out to be a slave his whole life. Looks like I owe you a drink Soluner." The dragon said with an unfamiliar accent.
The Elements widened their eyes when he said "my son". This was him. Dracona. "Good to see you again Dracona."
"Aye, who are these ponies. Are they the ones from your prophecy?" Dracona asked.
"Yes we are. And you don't mind me asking, YOUR SPIKE'S DAD? and whats with the accent?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Rainbow! That was not very nice of you to ask!” Said Fluttershy.
"Nay, it is alright. To answer your questions lass, yes I’m his father and I’m from northern Dragourup. Otherwise know as scalenavia. This where my kingdom capital was. Oh where are my manners! I'm Dracona, former king of the dragons."
"Uhh…. Hi, I'm Rainbow Dash and these are my friends, Twilight, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Rarity."
"Nice to meet you." Said Twilight
"Um hello." Fluttershy said, quietly.
"Hi!I'mPinkiePie!Hey,dodragonslikecake?Doyouliketoparty?Solunertoldusyouhave‘theheartofa warrior.'Doesthismeanyouliketofightalot?" Pinkie Pie said extremely fast.
"Yes, yes and by Yang's very soul YES!"
"Howdy." Said Applejack.
"Nice to meet you darling." Said Rarity.
Soluner was surprised at how fast they were getting over the fact that he is Spike's dad. 'Well how are they supposed to react. I guess.'
"Say how about we head to my castle? We can talk there. And there are some friends of mine I would like you to meet." Dracona said.
"Wait a minute. You said that you fought a war against each other." Twilight said with loads of confusion in her eyes. "Why are you suddenly acting like friends?"
"Yeah! Why are you acting like friends?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"Please, we will answer your questions when we get there. Deal?" Soluner said.
The Mane six looked at each other and nodded in agreement. "Alright let's go." Twilight said.
'I wonder who his friends are.'
Discord, or Sidroc, and Wasp traveled together ever since they first met. They agreed to never go to any civilized places, they wanted to live after all. The changeling and the once a pony, draconequus, walked through a forest, almost familiar looking to Sidroc. Amongst the trees were vines covering something. Wasp looked into the draconequus’ eyes, noticing the look of seeing something someone has not seen for a very long time.
"Sidroc, do you know this place? Where are we?"
Sidroc was looking at the vines. 'I know this place. There's something in the vines.' "Wasp, help me clear up these vines." Sidroc said.
"Okay." Said Wasp. He walked to the vines and he started picking the vines as did Sidroc. The vines were however, really difficult to pull. They had to use their full strength just to lift the vines. When they finally cleared up the vines, a look of horror went into Sidroc's eyes.
"What's wrong? Did you know them?" There was two stones. Each had three words on it....
R.I.P Flame Rider
R.I.P Emerald Wind
Sidroc slowly walked up to the grave stones. On the grave of Flame Rider, was a fire shaped artifact made out of gold. And it said the words 'Stay flaming' memories flowed through Sidroc's mind.
Sidroc and his son were at a park. They were running around the park laughing like a bunch of goofballs.
"Hey dad check this out!” Flame Rider used his magic to summon fire at his hoofs. There was no burning. He began to run really fast. He did not stop until he ascended into the air. And he flew around with flames completely surrounding his hooves. All the ponies in the area, including Sidroc, all had the look of surprise.
"Haha, they don't call me 'Flame' and 'Rider' for nothing!” He said with cockiness written all over his tone.
Sidroc smiled. He used his magic and he turned the fire into water. Flame Rider then dropped to the ground, saying 'ouch'. Sidroc began laughing so hard he rolled all over the floor.
"Hahahahahahaha! Oh sweet Soluner, that was priceless! Hahahahahaahaha!"
Flame Rider looked at his father then he laughed along with him. "You know I'm gonna get you back for this right?"
"Oh, but it was so worth it! Hahaahahaha!" Flame Rider rolled his eyes and then sat on the ground and lay back on the ground. Sidroc doing the same. They both relaxed and they looked up to the sky.
"Ahh. To think that only 21 years ago you were introduced to the world and gave your mother that burn on her face."
"Hey! It’s not like I scarred her or anything."
"Oh I know. Speaking of which," Sidroc sat up and summoned a fire shaped artifact made out of gold. "Happy birthday son."
Flame Rider picked it up with his magic he looked at the words 'Stay flaming' and he smiled. He then dropped it and he hugged his father, which got him off guard, then he said,
"I love you dad."
Sidroc then returned a hug, "I love you too Flame Rider."
An evil grin formed on Flame Rider's face. He ignited an explosion of fire with his magic. When the smoke cleared up Flame Rider was unharmed while Sidroc was covered in black burns.
"Told you I'd get you back." Then they both laughed.
(3 years later)
Discord was walking to the grave of his son and wife, with the golden fire in the paw and a note in the claw. He set the golden fire on top of the tombstone of Flame Rider and the note on Emerald Wind's. When he placed down the items, all he could say was. "Goodbye."
Sidroc looked left to the note he left thousands of years ago. It was still readable after all those years. The note said two simple words. 'I'm sorry.' Sidroc was holding back his sadness and replacing it with chaos as Discord for thousands of years. He didn't hold it back anymore. He cried. The tears stung his scar but he no longer cared.
Wasp looked at the situation. He walked up to Sidroc and patted him on the back. "I'm sorry for your loss."
"It's my fault. I let them both die. Just like I let my friends die." Sidroc said with tears in his eyes.
Wasp heard the story of how his friends died but he never heard him blame himself like he is now. "You can't just keep on blaming yourself for all of eternity. You have to forgive yourself. The memories of them are still in there, always remember the good times."
Sidroc got up feeling a little better. He looked at Wasp and said. "Why do you sympathize with me."
"Because after all these times watching each others backs, telling stories. I feel like your the only friend I ever had."
Sidroc's eyes widen at the word friend. He turned around and then he looked at Wasp. "Friend?"
"Yea, remember when we both were running from that dragon, forgetting that we can fly. We barely avoided that. I can't believe you actually tried to fight him."
Sidroc and Wasp were walking through a path talking about there lives before all of the 'running away from the empire' deal. They walked into a dragon cave without realizing. When they stopped talking they saw the dragon roaring at them. "BYE THE QUEEN'S WINGS. HE'S HUGE."
"Don't worry I got this." Sidroc said. Then he charged at the dragon. Only for half of him to be in the dragon's mouth. "Aughh Don't let him swallow me do something!"
"I don't know what to do."
"Oh just use a magic attack."
"Ok" He attacked, with magic, only to accidentally hit the draconoquis.
"OW! ARE YOU BUCKING KIDDING ME?!!" the dragon then spat him out
"Sorry. Maybe we should. Oh I don't know RUN." And run they did. Far away.
Wasp let's out a hoof. "Friends?"
Sidroc hesitated for a moment. Then something came up to him. This was his chance to start a new life, a new beginning. He grabbed Wasp's hoof, with his paw and said. "Friend."
