Sapphire walked into the coffee near Canterlot castle needing a break from work, Sapphire looked at her phone seeing a text from Scootaloo.Twilight Velvet looked up from her book seeing a ranger commander walk in, she stared at Sapphire trying to guess her age.Sapphire got her coffee and walked over to where Twilight Velvet was sitting.
"Mind if I sit here?" Sapphire said putting her phone away.Twilight Velvet looked up from the book she was pretending to read when Sapphire walked over.
"Not all it's good to have company" Twilight Velvet said smiling, Sapphire sat down setting her coffee on the table.Twilight Velvet set her book down and looked at Sapphire's tattoo sleeves on each arm admiring them.
"Mine name is Twilight Velvet," Twilight Velvet said looking at Sapphire.
"Nice to meet you I'm commander Sapphire 157th ranger airborne" Sapphire replied extending her hand, Twilight Velvet reluctantly shook it.
"You're nothing like my husband," Twilight Velvet said smiling.
"Oh?" Sapphire said surprised.
"You're so much more interesting you have tattoos you're a ranger commander and your muscular" Twilight Velvet responded with a smile.
"I was married once till the marriage failed and my wife walked out leaving me with our daughter," Sapphire said before taking a drink of her coffee.
"I'm sorry to hear my marriage is failing," Twilight Velvet said.

"Sounds good beautiful" Twilight Velvet said still smiling, Sapphire looked at her watch.
"I need to head back I'll call you later," Sapphire said getting up grabbing her coffee.
"Ok I'll keep an eye on my phone," Twilight Velvet said still smiling, Sapphire walked out drinking her coffee.
Sapphire walked into the meeting room where the princesses were waiting.
"So glad you could join us commander Sapphire," Celestia said looking at Sapphire, she slid Sapphire three invitations to the royal banquet.
"Three?" Sapphire said looking confused.
"Yes one for you and your daughter and if you wish a date," Celestia said smiling.
"Thank you" Sapphire smiled thinking about who she should take to the banquet besides Scootaloo, Sapphire pulled out her phone and texted Scootaloo back.Sapphire got up walked out into the hallway and called Scootaloo knowing it's lunch time at her school.
"Hello," Scootaloo said after answering her phone.
"It's your mom, said leaning against the wall.
"What's up," Scootaloo said happily.
"I've got an extra invitation to the royal banquet I want you to see if one of your friends in Ponyville want to go" Sapphire explained.
"I'm sure Sweetie Bell will want to go" Scootaloo replied.
"Ok the banquet is this weekend," Sapphire said.
"I'll call her tonight anyways I have to go I'm eating lunch," Scootaloo said eating.
"Alright love you bye," Sapphire said before hanging up, she walked back into the meeting.
"Sorry had to make a call," Sapphire said sitting down, the princesses didn't say anything not seeming to notice or quite frankly care.
Sapphire sat through the rest of the meeting which was extremely boring till to her surprise she was dismissed, she walked to the military cemetery which was nestled in a peaceful clearing.Sapphire calmly walked through feeling peaceful, she collapsed on a bench in tears when she saw her best friend's grave.Sapphire slowly stopped crying feeling a familiar presence next to her, she looked up to see the ghostly figure of her friend Snown sitting next to her.
"I'm sorry I failed to save you," Sapphire said looking down.
"Sapphire don't beat you up over that there was nothing you could do," Snown said comforting Sapphire, she let out a long sigh.
"So how's the afterlife?" Sapphire said looking at Snown.
"Fucking boring hahaha" Snown replied laughing.
"The fuck" Sapphire said with a funny look.

"That's why your the best mare I know" Snown replied looking out over the cemetery, Sapphire leaned back relaxing.

Friday arrived faster than Sapphire expected as she looked at the calendar coffee pot in hand.
"Mom Sweetie is coming to Canterlot after she gets out of school," Scootaloo said walking into the kitchen.
"Ok does she have something to wear to the royal banquet?" Sapphire asked making coffee.
"Yes she has a dress" Scootaloo replied stretching, Sapphire nodded and started making pancakes, Sapphire looked down at her phone to see a text from Twilight Velvet.Sapphire smiled and called Twilight Velvet.
"Hello," Twilight Velvet said answering her phone.
"Hey beautiful it's Sapphire," Sapphire said still smiling.
"Are you gonna be at the royal banquet tonight?" Twilight Velvet asked awkwardly.
"Yeah I'll be there with my daughter and her friend," Sapphire said flipping the pancake she was cooking.
"Sounds fun my daughter Princess Twilight invited me and my husband but I'll be going alone" Twilight Velvet replied sighing.

"Two paid weeks off from work, this has to be a joke," Sapphire said getting and walking to Celestia's study, she knocked before entering.
"What is it, Commander Sapphire?" Celestia said looking up from her computer.
"Two paid weeks off from work is that a joke?" Sapphire asked crossing her arms.
"No, I feel you need to spend more time with your daughter and relax" Celestia explained, Sapphire looked down embarrassed rubbing the back of her neck.
"Oh well thank you, Princess," Sapphire said still looking down.
"You're quite welcome," Celestia said smiling, Sapphire walked out into the hall shutting the door behind her.She let out a short sigh before walking back to her office, Sapphire sat down and continued going over paperwork.Sapphire looked up to see a royal advisor, she was quite beautiful with long flowing hair.
"Can I help you?" Sapphire said looking at the advisor.
"Princess Luna needs an intel report on the Everfree Forest as soon as possible," the advisor said before walking out, Sapphire sighed at the thought of more work.
Sapphire worked through half day before finally signing the last paper, she looked up to see it was already 3:30 in the afternoon.
"Finally I can go home," Sapphire said relieved, she shut down her computer and turned the finished paperwork into the main office.

"You too Sapphire" Twilight Velvet responded taking a glass of champagne from the drinks table, Sapphire took a sip of her champagne looking around.
"Sapphire I would love to get to know you," Twilight Velvet said with a smile, Sapphire nodded and led her over to a table where they sat down.
"What would you like to know," Sapphire said still drinking her champagne.
"Well how did you earn the Purple Heart and the Medal Of Honor," Twilight Velvet said setting her drink drown, Sapphire sighed putting her glass on the table.

"I saved thirty lives but my friend died as I was trying to stabilize her" Sapphire found the words hard to say.
"I'm so sorry Sapphire I didn't know," Twilight Velvet said comforting Sapphire.
"It's okay but that's how I got my medals" Sapphire drank the rest of her champagne.
"How did you become commander if I may ask," Twilight Velvet said curiously, Sapphire laughed looking at Twilight Velvet.

"You got a double cheese burger with onions and pickles?" Scootaloo asked Sapphire looking at the food,Sapphire nodded giving Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell their burgers and fries,Sapphire put the straw in her drink and took a sip.She unwrapped her burger eating her fries.
"Mmmmm delicious" Sapphire said taking a bite of her burger.
"Thank you for the food miss Sapphire," Sweetie Bell said smiling, Sapphire smiled eating.
After eating Sweetie Bell went with Scootaloo back to her room, Sapphire laid on the couch watching TV, she looked at her phone checking the time.
"Damn it's only ten something in eh morning," Sapphire said surprised, she quickly fell asleep watching a documentary on the Northern Kingdom military, Sapphire eventually rolled off the waking up.
"SON OF A BITCH!" Sapphire said getting up stretching, she grabbed a beer from the fridge and sat on the couch to continue watching TV.
