School of The Conclave

Bloom crouched not taking her eyes off the master in front of her. Neither made a move as the tension in the air grew thicker with every passing second. Bloom desperately racked her brain for a plan of attack. Chroma fed her attack angles but warned some of the openings were their to bait her into attacking. Teshin readjusted the grip on his sword and leaned further into the stance his stern grimace revealed nothing of what could be going through his mind. Sweetie watched them both from the tree line. Then her eyes caught the clock tower near the school, and a new dread filled her mind.

"We're going to be late for class!" She shouted suddenly making Bloom jump. She hopped on her back legs, and Teshin moved his sword in a defensive position only for Bloom to bow suddenly.

"Sorry got to go!" Bloom spoke fast and turned tail and ran bolting down the dirt path. Sweetie ran after her.

"Hey wait for me!" She shouted when a galloping Wolfy ran beside her, lowering his head he scooped her onto his head and slid her down his long neck onto his back not missing a beat catching up to Bloom. "Your such a good boy Wolfy!" Bloom praised, and the Kubrow barked. Teshin watched them go with surprise, but a small smile graced his face as he sheathed his sword.

"Thanks for the diversion Sweetie." Bloom thanked as they left the farm grounds.

"No problem. but do you think it was a good idea to run like that?" Sweetie asked.

"No, but it was the best option. If I learned anything yesterday, besides the fact Pinkie has accesses to a real cannon." She grinned, and Chroma facepalmed mentally. " Is that some problems need to be handled in other ways... I'll have to face him, but this should buy me time to plan at least."

They ran into Scootaloo as they ran past and the filly buzzed up with her scooter. "Hey, girls what are we running from today?"

"Old Tenno combat teacher." Bloom let out calmly focusing on the path ahead.

"Hmm cool," Scootaloo said back just as calmly. Then looked at the Kubrow running with Sweetie on his back. "That's a big dog."

Sweetie wrapped her hooves around the massive dog's neck "His name is Wolfy and he a good boy." Sweetie cooed, and the kubrow barked.

They arrived at School with a couple of minutes to spare. Bloom ran to the teacher. When Miss Cheerilee saw them, she smiled
"Morning Bloom, Morning Chroma." The little hybrid stopped looking behind her almost expecting to see the wide-brimmed hat of Teshin somewhere in the trees.

"Morning miss Cheerilee, So today's gonna be another weird day." Bloom started, and the teacher's eyes slowly drifted to the pony-sized dog panting lightly behind her. "That's Wolfy he's only part of it. So a tall man in a huge hat is probably going to show up. He's waiting for me. He's a teacher, who wants to test me but with swords and stuff." Bloom used her front hooves to mime out Teshins general appearance. "He'll probably wait outside he has a whole patience thing."

Worry passed over Miss C's face "Is he dangerous?" Bloom had to think of how to answer that one.

"He won't hurt anypony."

"Thank you for the warning Bloom, just don't let too many distractions I can only allow so much." The teacher warned, and Bloom nodded trotting to her seat. Wolfy looked at the teacher with an adorable absentmindedness. She reached out a hoof hesitantly, the Kubrow tilted his head down, and she scratched the top of his head. The wolf-like dog gave her snout a lick which made the teacher giggle with surprise. The space dog went to Bloom who told him to watch out for Teshin. Wolfy nodded intelligently, took a second to scratch himself behind the ear and leaped out the open window gracefully.

The day passed slowly close to recess Wolfy barked, and Bloom's ear twitched. Cheerilee stopped mid-sentence and looked at Bloom.

"Do you need to handle that?" She asked trying to sound like the teacher whose lesson was interrupted but under that was concern that Bloom appreciated.

"No Miss Cheerilee I'm ok." Bloom never thought she'd be ok with math but right now she focused on her school work. Seeing how it was only trying to confuse her. Unlike her "Other" problem which was now sitting somewhere out there. She sly called Frost.

"Aren't you suppose to be at School," The frame asked as the box appeared on her vision.

"I am. But Teshins here!" She whispered still looking at her desk like as she wrote.

"On Planet?"

"At my School!" She hissed then covered it with a cough."

"Oh...." The frame trailed off.

"Ya any tips?" She asked, and Frost was silent for a moment. The call ended, and Bloom couldn't believe it till messages started coming in from all the frames on Planet.

"Stay mobile."-Volt

"Watch your shields"-Frost.

"Don't get hit"- Vauban,

Bloom nearly facepalmed at that one.

"He's real old-fashioned mix things up, be unpredictable."- Nyx

"Wake the Dead."- Nekros

Bloom glared at that unhelpful message.

"He's a swordsman; He'll stick to solid and fast strikes. Don't be to eager wait for the right time to strike." - Excalibur.

"Use the air to your advantage a Tenno's agility is one of our best weapons." - Zephyr

"Be respectful, and Pay attention"- Teshin.

Bloom did a double take before she realized that Teshin had sent the last one. Chroma sent everyone a thank you and closed the chat. Bloom thought about what the other Tenno had told them trying to get an idea for a game plan.

The next hour passed calmly enough, and Miss Cheerilee dismissed them for recess. Everypony rushed out except Bloom who was taking several breaths. Cheerilee looked at her asking if she was ok and Bloom nodded. She got up and stepped out the door out onto the playground. Cheerilee watched her go wondering if she could even intervene in whatever was going on. Bloom scanned the playground until a bark signaled Bloom.

There under a tree sat Teshin his hand idly petting the Kubrow. Bloom steeled herself and approached stopping a respectable distance from the Conclave master. She expected a scolding for running earlier or him to call her a coward all thoughts started forming a negative cloud in her brain.

"Approach young Bloom," Teshin called calmly, and she nodded and stepped forward into the shade of the tree. "Would you sit with me and enjoy this nice weather." He offered, motioning with his hand to the empty spot on his left. She did what he asked and knelt next to him prim and proper. They sat in silence till Bloom couldn't take it anymore.

"Ya, the weather ponies did a really nice job on the weather today." She offered to try and start a conversation. Teshin looked at the sky with the perfect amount of clouds in it, then to Bloom.

"What do you mean?" He asked, and Bloom realized the Master of the Conclave didn't know about pony magic. Luckily a pegasus flew to a cloud to adjust it.

Bloom pointed a hoof "See there."

Teshin followed her hoof to see the purple pegasus known as Cloud Kicker. Kicker noticed her pointing and flew down.

"Hey, Bloom! Heard you were back. and a lot of strange things have been going on since." She looked at the new Bloom then to Teshin "Good to see the rumor mill was right for once."

"This is Master Teshin of the Conclave, and I was trying to explain Pegasus to him." Bloom introduced, and Kicker reached a hoof out to Teshin.

"Welcome to Ponyville Mister Teshin." He reached out and shook the hoof.

"Thank you miss this is the most peaceful place I've ever known. What were you doing with the clouds?" Teshin asked, face and tone neutral.

"Oh it had drifted a bit off course, and I was fixing it." She explained, but the way Teshin looked at her expressed confusion.

"You say Ponies control the weather here?" he asked, and Kicker nodded, but his face turned into a skeptical scowl.

"We do watch." Never to be deterred Kicker flew back up and brought the cloud to ground level. Teshin leaned forward studying the cloud. He reached out and touched the fluffy white cloud only to pass right through and pull out a wet hand.

He shook his head, "There is still much to learn in this world." He grinned his horizon expanded.

"Thanks, Miss Kicker have a good day," Bloom called as she replaced the cloud and flew off. Teshin looked at the lively playground than to the very nervous Bloom.

"You may go and spend your break how you wish. I will not test you till your lessons are done for the day." Bloom looked at him with awe and got up and bowed once more.

"Thank you. See you after class." She said as she ran off. Teshin watched her go with a smile. So young, and so eager would she withstand the fires of the origin system and be tempered by them? Or will they consume her? He thought grimly; Their test will show the answer. The old master saw two groups of children heading towards the large field. He spied a ball, and the thoughts of Lunaro sprung into his mind he decided to follow them.
