A Scaly, Ageless, Inventor.
Chapter 2: I Indeed Know What I Did.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCelestia and Luna, the mighty princesses of Equestria, walked down the hall of their recently built castle.
They were heading to a certain room in the castle that was near the center, and underground.
As they were walking they were participating in sibling banter.
“Sister, have you been enjoying your time in the dining room?” Luna asked Celestia in a joking manner. “You seem to have gain a little bit of pudge since that chef has started to cook for us.”
“I might be.” Celestia stated innocently. “But I’m not the only one who has been enjoying our time in this new castel, rather surprising how much the walls echo.” Luna blushed a touch as she tried to think of a rebuttal.
Luna huffed. “Very well sister, you have won this one.”
“How many is this now?”
“Four to two.”
Celestia hummed in thought as Luna pouted a little.

They now stood in front of the door they were looking for. It was a simple wood door that spoke of nothing that was inside.
“Should we knock?” Luna asked as they were not yet used to the one behind this door.
“Yes, I believe we sh-” She was cut off as the door was flung open by a black dragon wearing a strange white coat.
The dragon seem to be running from something as he ran into Celestia.
“Celestia? Luna? What are yo- Nevermind that! We need to run, now!” He said as he started running again.
Just as Luna was about to ask why, a strange creature made completely out of metal came rushing out of the room. It looked like a diamond dog, but more jakal in shape. And what was the most surprising was that it started to speak.
“Get back here you scaly sack of manure!” The creature spoke in what could only be described as a steely voice, if you were to give steel a voice that is.
The two celestial sisters just stood there, pondering what had just occurred.
“Should… We follow them?” Celestia asked.
“I think we should if for nothing else then to find out what that creature was. It looked like a metal diamond dog.” Luna replied.

I, am running for my life. Why might you ask? Because five months ago I found a soul of a most queer creature, just wondering about.
So I did the most responsible thing and asked why it was there.
…
Don’t look at me like that!
Anyways, I found said soul, asked why it was there, it told me why -something about a tree and a shapeshifter-, and for some reason asked me if I could give it a body again. Now that isn’t the strangest part, no, that would be the part where I said yes.
Thus started me looking into how to contain a soul in an artificial body.
I looked everywhere and I couldn’t find anything that had already been written about it. Which, to my eternal disappointment, meant I had to do this all myself.
So I decided to start with the body first then move onto everything else need to sustain a soul.
Turns out that Ponies don’t like parting with the dead bodies of their loved ones… which is really morbid now that I think about.
So I went with a mechanical one instead.
I looked into what the creature looked like before… Whatever the tartarus happened. And designed the body off of that.
I started with the torso since I needed to keep a space free for the soul but need all of the mechanics in there too. Then I moved onto the head, where I shaped and molded all the parts and made the head shaped as the head of the soul’s original body.
After that I moved onto the arms and legs, once more making them look as they did before. This is where I encountered my first problem. It wouldn’t stay standing.
While making the shape and getting the mechanisms working took me less than two weeks, getting the balance right took me three months, and enough sweat to turn a lake into an ocean, I finally got the balance right.
Next step took me more than four weeks, getting the right container to keep the soul in while allowing the soul the ability to control the machine I put it in.
Then. I found out that, while a soul is what makes a creature a being, I needed some form of mind for the soul.
That was the second easiest part honestly.
I already had an understanding of how the mind works and figured if a fleshy, blob of cells could carry an electrical signal then why not metal?
Took me two weeks of no sleep to get the “Mind” done, but it wouldn’t fit. So to get around that I used a form of communication that was very similar to my fire.
Thus, two weeks of labor and tears and I had completed everything I needed for the soul.
But, when I put the soul in it… Wasn’t to happy about the fact it wasn’t organic anymore. Not like I could do anything about that mind you but it wouldn’t listen and started chasing me around.
When I finally got to the door out into the castle I found myself on top of Celestia… But you already know that.
Now, where were we? Ah yes, I’m being chased around the castle by a metal creature that I gave new life to.

Gen was running down halls, corridors, and any other way of saying passageway, being chased by a metal creature that those around him could only assume was one of his portal experiments gone wrong.
“OUT OF MY WAY!!” Gen yelled at several servants who were inconveniently standing all the way across the hall he was running down, effectively blocking him.
They barely got out of the way before he came barreling through. And as they started to group up again a creature came running through right behind Gen.
“Slow down so I can kill you, you lying son of a bitch!” The creature yelled.
“Do not talk about my mother like that!” Was Gen’s only reply.
As they were nearing the front doors of the castle that would lead them out into the Everfree Plains the creature finally caught Gen as it tackled him to the ground.
They started rolling around in a comical fashion as the creature was trying to pummel Gen into the ground but Gen kept dodging the fists that were raining down on him.
This went on for about thirty minutes before Celestia and Luna found them wrestling on the ground, rolling back and forth.
Both Luna’s and Celestia’s horns started glowing as they pulled the two apart, setting them down on either side of the door frame.
As Luna and Celestia looked at each other. “We have many questions for you, Gen. And you would be wise to answer them all truthfully.” Luna said.
Gen grumbled out a “Yes ma'am.” As he got a bit more comfortable, as he had a feeling this would be a long day.
