Chapter 3: I Did Not Call Her Fat!

“And that’s the long and short of it.” Gen finished his tale and took a sip of the tea.

Considering how long the story of how the newly dubbed ‘Aura’ came into being, about a quarter of the way through they had moved into the Ageless Recreation Room, or the ARR.

The ARR consisted of a few chairs, one couch and loveseat in front of a somewhat boxy device, a kitchen, and a game table. Next to the boxy device was a few prototype entertainment devices that Gen called Electronic Game Systems, or EGS.

But enough of the room, back to the story!

Celestia and Luna stared, slightly slack jawed, at Aura. Now that they knew of his origin they had a newfound respect for him.

“So why were you a wandering soul Aura? Surely something unorthodox must have happened in order for you to become that.”

Aura was about to answer when Gen cut him off. “It’s something about a tree I think, maybe a shapeshifter as well. But what I want to know is what you think of him? Considering he will need a place to stay as well as a job.”

“Why can’t he stay in the castle?” Luna asked, “Surely it would be better to keep him close by incase some rather… Unsavory, circumstances come about. It would be a good idea to keep him under surveillance as well.”

“Do I not get a say in this?” Aura asked.

“Sure you do.” Gen replied. “Just not right now.” This got him a glare from Celestia the likes that could put the sun to shame, but he didn’t notice it.

“I can tell we’ll be the best of friends, you and I.”

“Really? That’s good as I will need to check up on you every now-and-then. You may have the latest of my self repair enchantments. But as a wise creature once said, ‘Anything can fail, the only way to make sure it won’t fail when you need it the most is to keep a good eye on it.’” Gen said, completely oblivious to the sarchasm in Aura’s synthesized voice.

“Joyous.”

“Now that we have that settled, we still have the problem of the ponies who saw him chasing me through the castle.”

“That won’t be much of a problem.” Luna replied. “Tomorrow you will be going for a public address to the castle staff.” Gen’s mouth fell open at that.

“Ima do what now when?”

“An excellent idea Luna, I shall announce it now.” Celestia said.

Gen had recovered by then and said, “I hope you don’t plan to go in a dress Tia.”

Celestia was confused by this statement and it clearly shown on her face. “And why is that Gen?”

“Oh, you seemed to have gained some girth since I last saw you. And as everyone knows, dresses makes it more noticeable.”

It said, to this day, you could have heard a smacking sound echo throughout the known universe that day. many strange creatures on another planet with no magic and seemingly the lowest predators on the food chain heard it and wondered, are we alone in this realm we call the 3rd dimension?

And now back to the comatose dragon and a fuming mare walking away.

“Will he be okay?”

“I do not know Aura, I do not know.”

A few hours later.

I woke up feeling dizzy and that I was hit by a train, whatever a train is. I knew I was in the medical wing of the castle by the strange lack of noise. It was always like that.

At this point in time I decided that I should open my eyes, but one of them decided not to obey me and stayed closed. I also found out later that I had a concussion, which made these random thoughts a bit less so.

“Huh, might I ask you eye why you are disobeying your master? I told you to open and yet here you are staying closed, would you like to tell me why?” I asked sweetly. But my eye didn’t answer.

“Pretty please tell me why you’re ignoring me eye?” I asked again and yet still no answer came from my eye.

At this point the physician had come in but I hadn’t noticed.

“Please my eye! Tell me what I have done to upset you!?!” I nearly screamed. My eye ignored me.

I had noticed the physician was looking strangely at me as he slowly made his way back out of the room.

“Wait! Don’t leave! My eye isn’t answering my questions and is giving me the silent treatment, maybe it will talk to you!” I yelled for the physician to come back a little while longer before giving up.

“I wonder how many bricks there are in this room.” I wonder, somehow knowing it would be a while till the physician came back even in my less than sane mind.

Insert amount of time to do the calculations for how many bricks are in Gen’s room.

“23322… Give or take depending on the door and window.” I had just finished the math in my head, I wish I had a piece of paper.

“And he’s still not back even after the… forty minutes counting the bricks, trying to do all the calculations, and losing my place. I should fire him.”

How many times can I count to ten before I lose my place in the confusion of keeping to different counts in my head?

Insert time to type filler so I meet the 1200 words mark.

9, 10, 26, 1, 2, 3, 4- I’m done with this.’ I think as I hop off the bed. ‘I don’t think I have a concussion anymore anyways.

I walk to the door and prepared to open it when the door open in my face and sent me sprawling.

“Ow-weeee.” I groan. as I try to get up, I look to see the physician standing in the doorway.

“Oh, so NOW you come back eh? After at least an hour and me getting over my concussion, with no help from you mind you, you slam a door in my face! What do you have to say for yourself!” I yell the traitorous traitor of a physician…. That was rather redundant.

“I- um- Eep!” The stallion squeaked.

“Hmmmmm? Nothing to say for yourself? I had to wait in here for an hour, an hour. I calculated the amount of bricks made up the room. Then I went on to see how many times I could count to ten in my head before I lost count! It was twenty-six by the way. And the amount of bricks is twenty-three thousand, three hundred, twenty-two! Give or take.” I ranted at the physician, I need to find another thing to call those of his profession.

“Now, I leave thee to thy work, good day to you quack.” I said as I leave the room. After all, I needed to see how Aura was doing.

Author's Note

Anyone who can find out the size of the room gets their O.C. cameod!!! And this will last till the story is finished! Also, 1181 words? Close enough. I want a buffer so that I'll always be on time for updates.
