Rainbow Dash landed in front of Rarity’s boutique late at night, panting and out of breath. She had to fly to Ponyville all the way from Canterlot after the Wonderbolts latest show. She practically begged Spitfire to let her off for a few days. Spitfire was unconvinced at first but Rainbow wouldn’t let it go. The stubborn mare won out in the end. Rainbow shook the stray rainbow colored hairs out of her eyes and smiled at the site of her second home. Back in the summer, when she and Rarity got together they had spent most of their time in Carousel Boutique and Rainbow had come to love the cute little dress shop.

She pushed open the door, trying her best not to make any sound, forgetting about the bell at the door signaling her entrance. It jingled loudly and Rainbow winced. She closed the door quietly and slipped into the darkened shop. Rarity was a deep sleeper so she doubted the fashionista would be awakened. Using the tips of her hooves, Dash sneaked up the stairs and flew toward her beautiful marefriend’s room.

Although the room was dark, some moonlight slipped through the curtains and fell on the sleeping white unicorn. A blue mask covered her eyes and her silken purple hair was a little wet, evidence that she had taken a shower before hitting the hay. The white moonlight gave the mare an almost ethereal glow.

Rainbow walked up next to the bed and ran a hoof through her hair. The cyan mare leaned in and kissed her lover on the forehead lightly, trying not to wake the sleeping beauty. Despite her effort, Rarity opened her eyes, a little startled. Seeing that it was Rainbow, she put her hooves around the blue Pegasus and kissed her deeply. The intruder was more than happy to return the kiss. Her lips were soft and cold, most likely because of the cold night.

Finally, Rarity pulled away and smiled warmly. “I thought you weren’t getting back until Saturday.” She whispered

Rainbow Dash licked her lips and responded, “Surprise! I wasn’t going to until I realized that it was our anniversary tomorrow. I couldn’t leave you here alone on such a special day.” She pointed at the clock in the corner that read 12:00. “I guess I was too late.” Rainbow sighed with a disappointed tone in her voice.

Rarity giggled. “Don’t worry about that! You’re here now and I certainly won’t be getting anymore sleep any time soon. Would you like to join me for some tea?”

Rainbow smirked. “Got anything stronger?”

Rarity laughed. It was a beautiful tinkling sound that made Rainbow Dash realize just how much she had missed her while she was away.

The unicorn suddenly took Rainbow’s side and pushed her against the bed. While she was down, Rarity hopped on top of her, smiling good-naturedly. Rainbow gasped, her eyes wide. “Damn Rares! Did you gain some weight while I was gone?”

Rarity frowned and hit the mare underneath her playfully. Pouting, she leaned down gave Rainbow a trail of kiss that led from her neck to her jaw. The other mare moaned softly. “I thought I could be on top for once.” She winked.

Rainbow grinned. “Nope that’s my spot Rares. Now what were we saying about tea?” she asked, using air quotes on the word ‘tea’

Rarity sighed and got off of Rainbow. “I might have some vodka somewhere.”

“Yessss” the blue mare hissed.

Downstairs, Rarity brewed some coffee for herself and passed a bottle of vodka to her companion. There was no tea involved.

Rarity sat down and daintily sipped her coffee. “How was Canterlot? Did you stop by the boutique?”

Rainbow shook her head. “I was really busy all week. Fleet broke her hoof so she couldn’t perform. We got a replacement just in time. Somepony named Midnight Strike or something.” She said waving her hoof around. “Besides that, it was the usual. What about you?”

Rarity put her cup down. “I missed you quite a lot, but I had lots of work to keep me busy. Since it’s around Grand Galloping Gala time, I have a huge order of dresses to fill. Do you think you can model for me?”

The cyan mare glared at her marefriend. “No way! Ask ‘Shy. She’ll help you.”

Rarity sighed, disappointed. “I wish it didn’t have to come to this but…” Quickly, the unicorn tackled Rainbow to the ground and started tickling her. “How about now, darling? Change your mind?”

Rainbow Dash struggled. “Hee-hee hahaha—stop—he heeee haha-ha- I’ll—ha ha do it- just- hee-stop! Hahaha!”

Rarity suddenly stopped and dusted herself off. “That’s better. And who said I couldn’t be playful? Hmpf!”

Rainbow chuckled. “Not me, that’s for sure. Now that I’m back I thought we could have some fun.” She winked suggestively.

Rarity rolled her eyes. “You’ve only been back an hour and you’re already thinking about sex. What am I going to do with you?”

The Wonderbolt pouted. “Does that mean ‘no’?” she sat down, hooves folded.

Rarity laughed. “Now I didn’t say anything like that. I’m not cruel, darling.”

Rainbow quickly flew onto her and kissed her greedily. Wrapping her hooves around the other mare’s waist, she picked her up and set her down on the table, with her mouth still on the other mares. After a few seconds of heated kissing, Rarity pulled away with glistening eyes, panting heavily.

She kissed her Rainbow on the nose. “That was amazing. You were gone for so long I forgot how good it felt.”

Rainbow nodded and grabbed Rarity’s hoof. “Well I’m here now and there’s a lot more where that came from.”

Rarity let her lead the way to the bedroom, where they fell on the bed. Rainbow put her hoof against her chest, feeling her racing heart. Then, she put Rarity’s hoof on her chest. “This is yours.”

Rarity giggled. “I love it when you get romantic.”

Rainbow Dash sighed happily. “I love you Rarity.”

Rarity smiled. “I love you, too.”

The last thing Dash saw was a blue aura pulling the curtains closed.
