As a colt, I was always the one pony to help another pony. When it came to Marble, I really wanted  to help her, given that she was both the shyest in the class, and was also the laughing stock of the class, everypony made fun of her, everypony except me. Whenever I would trot near her, she would hide her face because of the ponies with me were giggling at her. I tried to get them to stopped, a few times they did, but most of the time they ignored me, and kept laughing. Even the Fillydelphia elementary school teacher that taught there, Mrs. Moonrise, would even intentionally ignore Marble by letting the other foal make fun of her. I heard that she lived on a rock farm, and that she did in fact eat rocks, but only on special events, like Hearth's Warming Eve. Even though everypony thought she was weird, I always thought she was fascinating, and I wanted to know more about her.

When middle school came around she was still her shy self, but I became more curious so I decided to walk with her to the school.

“Hey, Marble? Right?” I said, as I trotted next to her. She gave me a face that made it seem that she was getting prepared for an awful walk to school, ” Don't worry Marble, I won't make fun of you I promise, I just wanted to talk to you, you know, get to know you!” I reassured her. I think I changed her view toward me, because for the first time, I saw her smile, but it was small, very small, And she was still shy when we walked

“Hello, my name is Star Sound ” I stuck out hoof and instead of shaking it she quietly talked back.

“I know your name is Star Sound, I hear them say your name when the other ponies laughed at me, but I did noticed that you were the one pony that never laughed with them, in fact, you were the one to trying to get them to stop laughing” she glanced at me and continued,” Thanks Star” She blushed and went quiet again.

“You're welcome, I just think that nopony should be treated like that!” I chuckled as I glanced at her. She doesn’t say anything back, but I see a small smile on her face. I decided to continue walking with her as we made our way to the school. After just a few steps in the schoolyard, I see my friend, Light Bolt, walked up to me

“Star? What the heck are you doing with,” he looks at Marble, disgusted, ”Her?” Marble’s face went red and she covered her it with her mane to hide the tear coming from her eye.

“What’s wrong with her? I think  she is a great pony, you should stop making fun of her!” I yell.

“She is weird Star, don’t hang around her! Or else we won’t be friends!” He yelled back.

“Well, then I guess we can’t be friends anymore!” I reply back. He gasps in shock and angrily trots away. Marble tapped me on my shoulder and I turn to look at her,

“Thank you Star, it was very kind of you to stand up for me like that!”

“It's alright Marble, I'll be here for you, if you need help, just ask!” I say, giving her a wide grin. She blushed again, and hid her smiling face behind her mane. As we walked into the school, everypony stared at us as we sat down in our seats. When I noticed that there was nopony sitting near her, I grab my stuff and sat right next to her. Everypony looked at me like I was crazy, and when the teacher walked in, she was surprised that the seat next to Marble was took. She started class, and gave us our work, but while we were doing our work, I kept noticing the ponies around us and the teacher would glance at us from time to time. After the day ended, countless ponies would ask me if I was forced hang out with her because somepony dared me to, and things like that, but I replied that I just wanted to be friends with her.

All throughout middle school, I was always helping Marble, whether it be with her work, or with others bullying her. We even wrote to each other, which surprised everypony when I told them.

When high school started, I realized that the Fillydelphia high school was a bit far from where I lived, I knew I was going to have to start taking the taxi. I walked to the nearest taxi station and saw that Marble was waiting in the line, and I walked up to her.

“Hey Marble!” I said, making her jump a little bit. When she saw me, her face lit up with joy

“Hey Star, are you taking the taxi too?” I nod my head

“Yeah, hey, since we are going to the same stop, do you want to share a taxi? It'll free up a taxi for somepony else” Her face went red and she covered her face with her mane, and instead of a confused thought , I thought about how adorable she is when she does that. Before the confusion of my thoughts was able to take me over, Marble showed her face from her mane and motioned me to ride with her. Throughout the ride I constantly kept glancing at Marble, like I couldn't stop thinking about her.

Do I like Marble? I mean, we're just friends, but why can't I stop looking at her?” I thought throughout the entire ride. Before my mind wandered any further the taxi stopped, and me and Marble walked out of the booth and I saw Marble start to reach for her bag, but I stopped her,

“I'll pay for the rides Marble” I said as I used my magic to reach in my bag and levitate a couple of bits to the taxi driver. When we walked up to the school, I notice that nopony change, because the other ponies would stare at us and whispered in our direction. Soon after, one of the students walked up to me,

“Hey, Star, everypony was wondering, are you and Marble dating?” He asked. As soon as those words came out both me and Marble looked at each other, and our faces turned bright red.

“Um, no, we aren't” I said in a sad tone. Marble looked at me in confusion, but before she could say anything, the bell for school rang and we had to hurry to our class. A few days later, I began to realized that I started to liked Marble and decided to write a letter to her, but instead of a regular letter, it was a love letter. I got out my quill and ink, and a piece of paper and began writing,

“Dear Marble Pie, I have always thought you were an amazing pony, and that you are unique from anypony else. I realized that I have liked you for a long time now, and I wanted to ask you a simple question. Will you be my marefriend? Signed your best friend, Star Sound” I folded the paper, placed it in an envelope, and put a stamp on it, but instead of my normal stamp, I used a heart covered one, and I walked outside, and stuck it in the mail box.

The next morning I walked outside my house to see Marble standing right in front of me. I look at her and see the biggest smile I've ever seen from her, when I smiled back, she leaped onto me and gave me a hug.

“Yes! I'll be your marefriend!” She said, in a quiet yet exciting voice. Those next years of high school were the happiest years of my life, me and Marble were constantly with each other, and over time, ponies came to accept her, and Light Bolt and I became friends again. There were a few times I had to defend her, but it wasn't too difficult. We were in love with each other, and nopony could deny it. I was her Star, and she was my Marble. We stayed together, until she wrote me the letter I'll never forget,

“Dear Star Sound, I'm sorry to tell you this through letter and not in pony, but, I have to move back to my rock farm, my family needs help with farming. I love you, and I always will. I hope we meet again some day. I know we will. Your love forever, Marble Pie” I couldn't believe that she was leaving me, I looked on the letter and saw some tear stains from when she was crying, which made me start to cry, making the letter a little bit more wet. I was so devastated, and everypony saw how sad I was. I met her at the train station where we kissed and said our goodbye’s. She then got on the train, and left…
