Chapter One: Memories

"War, war never changes…."

….But ponies do. My name is Deadshot, I am a unicorn mare with a white coat, and my mane and tail are an awesome black and white, with a stripe of red, my eye colour is Silver, kind of like my mom. My cutie mark is a sniper rifle's reticle, but I also have a twin sister named Razor Edge, and she's a total sword nut, she'll go on and on, about the sharpness of blades and their quality, if you've guess it already my sisters' cutie mark is two swords in an X shaped cross, she's a white coated unicorn, with an electric and ocean blue mane and tail, both tipped with red, and her eyes are a dark blue colour. Oh, and I tend to ramble a lot, so please bear with it.

The day was cool as always, my sister and I were out scavenging like normal, until I saw something at the corner of my eye.

" What the hell was that!?" I shouted as I ran to where I saw a shadow duck behind some rubble.

" What did you see sis?" Razor Edge asked while walking up to me.

"Well, I thought I saw something ran passed here." I answered, now I was really befuddled, because it was just here.

" Was it a raider, or a ghoul?" Razor Edge curiously asked.

" Not a chance, it was too small to be a raider or a ghoul." I replied, but I was thinking of something small, like a radroach or something.

" Maybe it was a midget raider, or feral foal ghoul?" Razor replied back snickering.

" This is no laughing matter Razor Edge! We're facing an unknown creature here, and possibly an enemy!" I retorted. We searched around the area for about half an hour, then I tripped over something, and with a quick *eep* escaping my mouth just before I hit the ground. I looked up to see what I tripped over, but I wish I hadn't as my eyes widened in horror as to what I saw.

I screamed at the top of my lungs, I never knew that I could scream at such a high pitch, but the object that I tripped over was a corpse, I dared to look at the body again, and saw what was once a pegasus. The wings were a dead give away, but the equipment was in good shape, and the body was still fresh. A few minutes later I awoken from my shock when I heard Razor Edge's hoofsteps coming closer towards me.

" What's wrong sis, I heard you scream, so I thought you were hurt, or some-" her voice at first was worried, but then trailed off as she saw the body, then she too let out a scream, but it wasn't because it was a dead body that made us scream, it wasn't because the body is still fresh, but it was because the body was brutally ripped to shreds, it looked like it's guts were ripped out of it, and the face was ripped up really badly to the point you can't tell who it is, but I think it was once a mare due to the body size and image, wow she must've been really pretty, then a thought occurred, so something recently killed this mare, meaning it's probably still around, so I said the most obvious thing anypony would if they were a leader.

" We gotta go, now!" I shouted, something about that dead pony just doesn't feel right to me, so we ran as fast as we could away from the body.

While running we saw a decent building to hide in, so we proceeded to run into the building to find shelter. Once inside we had to calm down to assess the situation,  we were thinking about what could have left that body in its state, only one thing we know around here could have caused it, a feral ghoul, they are especially known to eat pony guts, and they only like to eat the organ, mostly since it's easier for them to chew it, but that doesn't explain why the pony was brutally ripped to shreds to the point where it was beyond recognition.

We must've sat there for a few hours, because when we first saw the body the sun was a little bit away from setting, but now it's just halfway passed the horizon. Luckily I made my very own night vision goggles, since it would take a half day or so to get back to Tenpony tower from where we are, we were planning on leaving near sunset, but I guess not, luckily only the ghouls here are active at night, but lucky for us they suck at searching, they just wait for a pony to get close to them and then they pounce on you.

" I guess we'll have to set up camp for tonight, let's check the whole building so we don't have to worry about a feral in here." I suggested, but right at that moment we both heard something moving in one of the rooms. I slowly approached the door with Razor Edge following close behind me, I opened the door expecting a feral ghoul to jump at me and bite my face off, but instead a dog jumped out of the room and knocked me over onto my back licking my face, like, a lot. This dog was really strong, it had a brown coat with a big black circle or oval on it's back, and I think it's a female.

" I think it likes you Deadshot." Razor Edge said with a snicker. While on the other hoof I'm pinned to the ground being licked by a probably 130 to140 pound dog.

" Ah! Stop licking *pfft* my face!" I said, as I now gently pushed the dog off, if she's going to live with us then we need to give her a name.

" What should we name her sis?" I asked Razor Edge.

" Well, she did jump you good, how about Jumper?" she suggested.

" How 'bout it girl?" I asked the dog. The dog licked my face again, making me spit like crazy all over again.

" Jumper it is then." my sister said with a giggle following those words.

" Well I don't think she caused the dead body we saw earlier." I stated, one reason being that a dog would stick with their food, and guard it from other creatures.

" Why not?" Razor Edge asked, second reason.

" Well there's no smell of on her, and the body was still fresh." I answered, now I'm curious, what kind of ghoul could cause that. Whatever it was, we'll have to find out, plus we need to go back for that gear anyways.

" How 'bout we go for that gear first tomorrow morning, then we can get the hell out of here." I suggested, Razor Edge just simply nodded.

" Good plan, this place was giving me a bad vibe since we got here." Razor Edge replied, with that she went to sleep, as always I start the first half of the night watch.

*Later that night*

I was staring out onto the streets of the city ruins which I think this was once Baltimare, the signs on the way here were faded, but you could make out some words. An hour later I snapped out of my daydreaming when I heard some ponies walking along the street, so went ahead and got my night vision, and by the looks of it, they were raiders, I really hate raiders, then something or rather somepony caught my eye, there they were pushing a mare in chains ahead of them, as I watched a little longer I finished checking what kind of weapons they had, as luck would have it they have really bad weapons, one of the raiders had a pool cue, four of them had 10mm pistols, and one had a riot shotgun and in good condition as well. I guess I'll take out the ones with the pistols first since they'll have better accuracy, then I'll shoot the one with the shotgun, then the pool cue wielding raider can go last. There were about six raiders walking along casually, I had 10 shots thanks to me customizing this rifle. I took aim for the first target's head, I calmed my breathing, and pulled the trigger. *suppressed gunshot* and whoa! The raider's head goes flying off, the others were looking around trying to find where the a sniper could, but there were tons of places where a sniper could be, and I was lying on my belly shooting at them through a large hole in a wall, and luckily I attached a suppressor on my rifle, I lined my shots five more times and shot five more times. *suppressed gunshot* oh, shit! Right through the eye and out the upper back of the head, that's where the brain is, and exploded in a big bloody explosion, that bullet must've moved a lot in there. *suppressed gunfire* Ow, right through the lung, that raider collapsed and started coughing up blood. * suppressed gunshot* aw gross, that shot just took the raider's privates off, *Gack* I can't even look, the raider fell over clutching his privates, saying one thing.

"FUCK!" screamed private no privates, I'm called him private now because he seems to be a newish raider, and no privates because, you know.

"Show yourself you cunt!" one of the raiders shouted, they really love that word, but there's no way in hell a sniper would give away their position, the raider that told me to show myself was the shotgun carrying one, but not for long. * suppressed gunshot* perfect hit, I shot his neck as the bullet went through his windpipe and jugular, I'd like to see him try and talk now. Hey I'm no doctor, but when you're a sniper you've gotta find fatal spots to shoot at, the raider was coughing and spitting out blood, not so tough now huh, but there's still one raider left. * suppressed gunshot* holy mother of celestia, I just shot a mare through the heart, and out through the same area where her uterus should be. Welp, I guess you can say that I broke her heart, haha, those raiders never stood a chance. I waited a few more minutes just in case there were more raiders, but when the coast was clear I walked out of the building to find the mare. Some of the raiders were still kicking, but they've all received fatal injuries, so they'll die no matter what, but I walked up to the pony who had the shotgun, I spat in his face, as I pulled out a long rebar from the rubble with my magic as I stared into the eyes of the raider with an emotionless face, he returned a smiling yet pained look. My mouth made a wide smile from ear to ear as the raider soon looked at me in horror, why should he look at me like? Raiders will kill anypony they see just to eat them, so in anger I stabbed the shotgun using raider in the heart. As I walked up to Private no privates who was still clutching the area where his privates used to be, he looked up at me in terror, as did all the other survivors, so I stabbed all the surviving raiders in the heart, they screamed in pain but I blocked out their screams, I could care less about their pain.

Soon after I finished off the remaining raiders it started to rain heavily, but it kinda fits the mood, but not too long later I found the mare hiding behind some rubble still in her chains, I slowly approached her not sure if she'll attack me or not, but I think she's too scared to do that, mostly because she was curled into a ball, I couldn't blame her, I just finished off five raiders, without any remorse, albeit nopony would really care if I killed a raider or not.

" Hey, are okay?" I asked in a calm warming tone, she slowly uncurled but still too scared to move, I reached out to give her a hoof, but she was looking back and forth from my hoof and my face, why my face? After a few minutes of this akward of staring contest she reached her hoof out and wrapped her hoof around mine, I walked her back to the building we were in and woke Razor Edge up to ask her if she could take other watch, she just closed her eyes and told me to wait, a few lockpicks later I got the cuffs of off the mare. Razor Edge finally switched out with me and took over the night watch a couple minutes after I got the chains off of the mare, so while Razor Edge stood watch I was comforting the mare, I lit up a fire with my magic so that it could warm the mare up since she seemed really cold, and it was also cold at night here, but now that I look closely her coat was white too, but a little dirty probably due to the raiders, and she's a pegasus too, how awesome is that, all we need now is an earth pony. Her mane and tail were really long, and they were a light pink and white colour, but what caught my attention was her cutie mark, and no I was not staring at her flank, I don't swing that way, but her cutie mark was a light blue caduceus which is an ancient medical symbol that I found in an old book back in tenpony tower, the symbol sits in the blank space of a crescent moon.

" Umm..are you a doctor?" I asked curiously, because there weren't many doctors in the wasteland.

" Uh…y-yeah." she replied shyly, okay then we're dealing with that kind of pony, huh.

" My name is Deadshot what's yours?" I asked, this is going to be hard to talk to her.

"Moonstone s-stitches." she whispered.

" I-I'm sorry, what was that?" I asked kind of stumbling with my words.

" M-Moonstone S-stitches." the shy mare replied again, but slightly more louder, wow, what a long name.

" Okay then, if it's ok with you I'll just call you Moonstone." I asked, the shy mare just nodded her head, I kind of think she'll agree to anything.

" Allow me introduce you to the the family, the mare over there is my twin sister Razor Edge, the dog's name is Jumper, and she's a recent member, and now we have you, if you want to join us of course." I added, talking really quick.

" Wait, you'd actually let me be a part of your family?" Moonstone asked, as she started to tear up, but excited at the same time.

" Sure why not, plus my sister and I suck when it comes down to medical issues anyway." I answered chuckling, but I soon remembered something important.

" Anyway, how and why were you captured by raiders in the first place?" I asked, because one does not simply give themselves to raiders.

"Well, I'm a medic for a caravan, or was, but we were hit by raiders on our way to tenpony in manehatten, but we decided to go through Baltimare, and that didn't end well as you can see." Moonstone replied slightly shaking, oh the horrors she must've seen, somepony should have told them about the Devil's jaws gang which is a gang of raiders, but they're quite small in numbers though.

" Well no need to fear, because you're safe with us." I remarked, wow, what a bold faced lie.

" Ha, safe my flank, we're running into danger all the time." whispered Razor Edge as she grimaced at the thought, but with a slight amusement in her tone, it's as if she's implying something, or foreshadowing something every time she says something like that.

" I-I'm sorry, d-did I say something wrong?" the  questioned sheepishly.

" Ahhh…n-nothing, nothing at all!" Razor Edge denied, though she's bad at hiding a lie, I can easily see a sweat drop sliding down her face.

" Anyway that was a nice chat and all, but*YAWN*I think we should catch some sleep before sunrise." I suggested, tired from my shift of night watch. After I got a sleeping bag out for our new friend/family, both Moonstone and I tucked ourselves into our sleeping bags, as my blue haired sister got back to work guarding us from an attack, or wake me up to start shooting ponies, and so we closed our eyes and fell asleep, but not before Jumper gave me a goodnight lick.

I opened my eyes to an empty white space, this place felt so peaceful, so calm, I feel like I've had a dream like this before, but most of the time I'd forget the dream, I was feeling peaceful, but when all of a sudden out of nowhere*Deadshot* somepony called out my name. *Deadshot* there it is again, I was curious yet a little frightened, so I did the obvious.

" W-who's there!?" I demanded, but for some odd reason, I kind of feel like I knew who it was.

" Have you forgotten me already Deadshot?" a ghastly female voice echoed.

" W-who are you?! what do you want from me?!" I demanded again, but I was legitimately scared now.

" Don't you remember Deadshot?" the voice asked, just before the atmosphere changed from warm, to cold as a chill went down my spine.

" YOU LET ME DIE!" the female voice boomed, then a flash image of a house burning flashed in my mind for just a second.

" What was that?" I cried, but nopony answered. After that everything around me faded to black

I jumped out of my sleeping bag as I woke up from my dream with a loud thud, I had awoken in shock and at the same time, I had a really bad headache now as my forehead had just bashed itself on something hard.

" Ow ow ow." a voice said whimpering, I looked up to see Moonstone rubbing her forehead with her hoof.

" Careful Moonstone, you don't wanna get close to her, Deadshot is a huge drama queen every morning." Razor Edge teased, she does this every time we meet somepony new, and sometimes it really annoys me, but I was kind of getting into a joking mood today.

" *Gasp* oh, I am not, I can't believe you, my own sister, would say that!" I sassed pretending to be shocked with my hoof on my forehead, pointing in the other direction of me looking like I was going to faint.

" See, what did I tell you, drama queen." Razor Edge chuckled, Moonstone was laughing too, which kinda made me blush.

" Whatever, anyway lets check that body one more time before whatever left that dead corpse behind come back for seconds." I suggested, it's never a bad time to joke around every now and then, Moonstone looked confused, but she went with it, and with that we were heading off to where the corpse was, when we stepped out of the building, the bodies of the six raiders from last night were still lying on the ground, they may as well be asleep, if it weren't for the fact they, I guess you could say, have a hole in their hearts, eh? Anypony, really, oh come on that was funny, so they now have holes in their chest that went through their hearts, courtesy of yours truly, so as we walked past the raider that had the shotgun, I saw the shotgun lying there just waiting to be picked up. As I picked it up with my magic, a light blue aura enveloped the gun, just then I realized that Moonstone didn't have a weapon, but of course, unicorns can cast a magic bullet, but I'll give to her just in case if she can't.

" Hey Moonstone, do you know how to use a shotgun?" I questioned, it would suck for me if I had to explain how to use a gun to her, I tried to teach a foal how to use a gun before, and she almost took my head off.

" Oh, y-yes I've learned how to work one, but I've never actually used one." the medic pony stated, thank you for knowing how to use a gun, it makes me happy to know that she knows how to use a gun to the point where I could just kiss her, but I won't.

" Great, here you go, don't be shy take it." I urged her to take it, at first she was hesitant but I reminded her that she can trust us and we trust her with the gun, hopefully she won't shoot me with it.

It was about a good 30 minute walk, but we made it to the where the dead pegasus was, wait a minute, Moonstone is a pegasus, so how would she react to a fellow dead pegasus?

" Finally, hey check it out the gear is still here!" I shouted as I ran to the corpse, eager to find some good loot.

" Keep it down Deadshot, do you want whatever creature that did this to come back!?" my oh so wonderful sister whispered, I kind of wish she'd stop trying to be my mom sometimes, but this time she's right, I gotta keep it quiet.

" Wow, look at these assault rifles, and this helmet could fetch a good price, but look at this battle saddle." I excitedly whispered, this is a good find, it's not everyday you find two assault rifles in this condition, it's just about brand new, kinda, Moonstone walked up to the body to inspect it too.

" Hey look at this!" Moonstone called quietly, she was holding something with her hoofs, some kind of large rectangle box with a trigger.

" What is it?" I asked confused with what it even was, I'm not that good with technology.

" It's a, um…let me take a look." Moonstone said as she looked very closely at some very small letters and numbers.

" It's an AER-14 laser rifle!" she shouted in glee, an AER-14, what in the name of celestia is that, so decided that I'd ask the most obvious question on my mind.

" What's an AER-14?" I questioned, I was kinda feeling a little stupid for asking, I feel like I should know what it is, but I don't.

" Well, it's only a prototype, but Deadshot this weapon is priceless, you don't know how excited I am, only a hundred of these were ever made before…well…you know, the balefire bombs fell, too bad there's no ammo for it, but maybe I can modify it to use save more energy, with some work, and maybe...!" she rambled on and on about this and that to the point my ears flopped down to cover themselves and so did Jumper as she covered her ears with her paws, until all of a sudden all four of us heard a blood curdling screech. From behind some rubble a red light started to glow brighter and brighter, and then a ghoul appeared, but this was no ordinary ghoul, it's what many call the glowing ones, by the looks of it this ghoul used to be a raider, this one was wearing hoof claws, I quickly took out my rifle and took a shot, but only grazed the left cheek of it's face, I was surprised that the ghoul was already getting close, but before I could take another shot the ghoul was right on me pushing me to the ground, the ghouls face was peeling off, it's maw was hanging only by a few clumps of muscle, and most gross of all it's left eye was dangling out of it's eye socket, truly a face even a mother couldn't love, Razor Edge tried to get the ghoul off me, but the ghoul kicked her in the gut with it's hind legs, Razor Edge few into a wall knocking her unconscious, Jumper also threw herself at the ghoul, but ended up the same as my sister, I on the other hoof, am being clawed at by a radioactive ghoul, but then the ghoul swiped a hoof at my face for a killing blow, I tried moving out of the way, but I was too slow at dodging, resulting in the ghoul cutting my left eye, great now my left eye is gonna be my blind spot, Moonstone on other hoof was struggling to put the shotgun shells in, it's probably not easy to shove a bullet into a shotgun with you hooves, she was starting to line up the shot, but she hesitated to shoot.

" What are you doing!? Shoot the gun!?" I screamed fighting off the ghoul, wow I'm starting to feel sick, might be the radiation, or from the face of this ghoul.

" I-I can't I might h-" she tried reply , but not before I cut her off, since I knew what she was about to say.

" If you were about to say that you'd hit me, that's ok, because you know what, I've been shot before, and I'd prefer to either get shot or die then become a ghoul right about now!" I babbled, and with that she took aim and hesitated, but steadied her aim again, got a little closer and shot the ghouls' head, which is now flying off to celestia knows where, spewing irradiated blood all over me. A few minutes after that hell of an encounter, I drank some radaway Moonstone found on the dead pegasus, but Moonstone said I still had a large trace of radiation in me, but not long after my sister finally regained consciousness, a little bit alert at first, but all in all she's fine, Moonstone scavenged a little more through the dead pegasus' bags and found three healing potions, awesome we'll need 'em, and a few spark cartridges. And so we finally left that hellhole with two new family members/friends, and I've gotten for the first time, three gnarly scars on my left eye now, although it sucks because the downside is that I'm probably blind in my left eye now.

*2 hours of walking later*

" Hey did anypony hear that?" I asked as I was pretty sure I heard somepony just said something about 2 hours of something.

" Hear what?" my shy pegasus friend questioned, she must think I'm going crazy.

" Oh don't mind her Moonstone, she'll also hear things every now and then." my blue haired twin advised, hey I'm not crazy I swear I heard something, but anyway, as we approached a building we all decided to check the place out for possible loot, my sister and I have gone past this building before, but every time we were near this place we were being chased by raiders, but once we entered, I stared at a sign on the wall when we entered, why does it have my attention, you may wonder? It's because it said "Welcome to stable-tec labs" with branch 12 under it, must be good stuff here if it's from stable-tec, as we wandered around the building, I turned a corner of the building and stared down a hallway, when I walked down the hallway I heard some movements inside a room when I entered the room there was nothing inside, as I exited the room a ghoul jumped at me from behind the door, I was pinned to the ground with a ghoul trying to bite at my stomach, but luckily my sister was close enough to hear the ruckus, so when she got to the room where I was pinned down she immediately dispatched the ghoul's head with a swift slash of her sword.

"You know what, I don't get why ghouls always like to attack you."  Razor Edge said as she recalled our last ghoul encounter not to long ago.

"Oh you're just jealous that even ghouls love me more than you." I teased, Razor Edge just scrunches her face and looked at me while blushing. I was being checked up on by Moonstone, as my sister took a look at a special room, there was only one room that caught our eyes, since there was only two floors, and the fact that there was a locked steel door to some kind of basement, we all thought there might have been some good loot or anything behind the door, so I put down my bag, pulled out some lockpicks, and started working my magic. It was about a good ten minutes, but I finally got it unlocked, when we entered the room, we learned that inside the room was dark, really dark, so to find the light switch I casted a light spell, only find the switch right next to me, never expected it to be there, so as I flipped the switch, all of us excluding Jumper were horrified by the grim image before us, hundreds of bones littered the ground, at first we were shocked, but then realized we need to check the whole room, if these pony were here before the bombs fell then it's possible that one of them could become a ghoul, I was searching near the back of the room when all of a sudden, I was attacked by the dead.

" GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!!!" I screamed while repeatedly saying gross, there were two skeletons lying on top of me, but in my defense they were heavy, Moonstone gently moved the skeletons off of me smiling, hey if skeletons came to life a started to attack me I'd be scared shitless, the dead should stay that way, so after we confirmed that there were no ghouls, we all walked up to one of the steel tables in the room that actually had something that looked useful, there were three objects sitting on the table, where a sign also sat saying, " V.1 armored frame modifiable self removable pip-buck model 3600" wow that's long, and there were some tapes lying around, and I so happen to put into a random tape into the tape player,  we waited and then a male voice came through.

" Day six after bombs fell, we're still working on pip-buck model 3600, but it's only 46% finished, we still need a little more time." the voice spoke weakly, then I picked another random tape to put in the tape player next, I think this is the last tape, but this time it, same male voice kinda came through, but he sounded really sick.

" Day 38 after bombs fell, finally *cough* I've finished it, hehe, who'd have thought that the missing component was to just add magic, but not just any magic, no, it needed the magic of friendship, too bad *cough*, but either way I've completed it, if only my friends were around to see this, but if anypony finds *cough getting worse* this place, I want you to know*heavy *that my final wish is for somepony to * violent cough* take my creation and use it well, haha, with me completing it I can finally rest easy, and maybe just maybe, see my friends again." the tape ended there, I turned around to see my sister and and Moonstone in tears, so I asked them what was wrong, oblivious to myself crying, I didn't even know I was crying because my left eye isn't tearing up, and then both of them answered simultaneously after gulping down some sadness.

" It's just *sniff*  so sad!" they said crying their hearts out, for the love of Luna they're like foals crying for their mom.

" Anyway, if you want to make it a happier end, then take a pip-buck, it was his final wish after all." I suggested, and after putting the pip-buck on, it started calibrating and a small white me appeared and wow was my health low, but I was upset at the fact that it said I had minor radiation poisoning, and that I've mutated somewhere, it just says mutation detected, at this point I was freaking out, what could have mutated!?

" How do I look?" I asked my sister panicking, but she looks confused at my answer.

" What do you mean, I mean you look beautiful as always." she questioned, I must sound stupid right about now.

" My pip-buck says I've mutated something, but I don't know what!" I squealed, now I'm just crying at what could've changed, did I grew an extra organ or did I have a split tongue or even another*AHHHH*.

"No, stop thinking stop thinking stop thinking!" I mused, looking at me panicking, Razor Edge and Moonstone got me out of the building, it was about 4 more hours before we'd make it to tenpony tower, and I know this isn't a good idea, but I was too stressed about this mutation thing that I fainted, and I was out cold making me an easy target for slavers, or even worse raiders, my soul quivered at the thoughts.

I awoke to a strange white place, but then I remembered where I was.

" Oh, not this place again." I whined, but then the female voice from my last dream spoke again.

" Well look at you, all roughed up, wasn't an easy fight was it, must have been tough for you, although it could have been worse you know, at least you weren't slowly BURNED TO DEATH!" she raged, there weren't any more voices after that, as if waiting for me to give an answer, so I did.

" Look I know I didn't help you, but I couldn't have help you, I was too small to ok, if only my magic was stronger back then, then maybe I could've, so please stop haunting me." I responded sobbing, falling to the ground sitting on my rump, something my mother always told me never to do, all because it would make her sad, but then all of a sudden out of the blue two hooves wrapped around me as I sat on my rump, so I just sat there feeling the warmth of the embrace, then a beautiful calm voice spoke out.

" The creature that is haunting you is only your imagination, this is your mind, there's no need to be scared here, so just close your eye and relax." the glowing white mare assured, as if responding to my cry, so I closed my eye, relaxed, then opened my eye again giving a quiet *sniff* and wiping away my tears." After all, mothers knows best." the glowing mare added, as she turned into a bluish white coated mare, with dark and light blue mane and tail with a stripe of red." I did die, but it was never your fault, you were still very young back then, but even so you tried your best to help me." my ghost mom reminded, as a memory of a little white filly trying to push some of the remains of a house off of a mare flashed in" But for now, live your life to the fullest Deadshot." she smiled, as the world around me began glowing brighter until I too was engulfed by the light, was I dead?

* 3 hours and 37 minutes later*

As the dream faded and I was awake, I was shocked by my dream and the very first thing I said was.

" MOM!?" I shouted, but quickly fell back asleep, but Razor Edge woke my back up after 3 minutes of sleeping when she realized I fell asleep again.

* 6 minutes later*

"Who's there?" I mumbled, kinda sluggishly as I opened my eye, I fell asleep again so my sister was kinda mad at me.

" Did you hear something again? " Moonstone asked, awe how nice of somepony to care finally care about poor me.

" N-never mind I'm just hearing things, again." I answered quickly knowing I'm just hearing things, or I'm going crazy, then I looked around.

"W-where are we?" I asked, as I starting to panic since my vision right now is still blurry, but then a familiar smooth and young male voice spoke out to me, which gave me a chill and an idea of where I am.

" No need to worry lovely, you're back in tenpony tower." a stallion's' voice answered, and for some reason gave me a chill that shot through my whole body, as my vision was clearing up, I looked up and realized that an electric blue coated unicorn stallion, with a blue and light yellow mane and tail stood before me, I remembered that my mom said something about his ancestor being a musician before the bombs fell, I think her name was Lyra heartstrings, anyway, the stallion had a scalpel with a stitching needle angled above the scalpel, with the thread wrapping around the scalpel for a cutie mark, but had one thing to say about him.

" The wasteland's most devious, bottom feeding scumbag alive, *dramatic close up on Deadshot's face* Spectre." I hissed as I looked him in the eyes.

" I-I'm not devious, or a scumbag." the electric blue unicorn whimpered.

" Give it to me straight doc, am I gonna die?" I dramatically asked sarcastically, 'cause a lot of other ponies who normally comes to him would end up dead anyway.

" What, no, why would you think that?" he asked confused, jeez, he never changes, but I gave him a reason anyway.

" Well how many patients actually left this clinic alive." I replied smirking, if I weren't a regular patient I may have just ran out of the front door after hearing the death count.

" Many, but in truth not all, but they were at death's door already, so just relax and I'll quickly examine you." he said calmly, then start walking slowly towards me, but before he got anywhere close to me, I immediately crossed my hind hooves to cover my nethers, because I know for a fact and through experience that this doctor was also a huge pervert, after looking around my body for mutations he gave me an answer.

" Well I don't see any deformities on your body, but~ just to be sure." he put a hoof near my rump, and before I could react he pushed me over and immediately moved me back, and with that I slapped him hard across the face while my face was about completely red from embarrassment.

" PERVERT!" I screamed. This is the number one reason why I hated being in his clinic, but sadly he's the best doctor around, Spectre was rubbing his now swollen right cheek as he responded to my action.

" Yep, I deserved that, but luckily no mutation, but I did noticed that you bandaged your left eye, why?" he questioned, really, the dried blood stain doesn't mean anything?

" Well I got it from a hoof claw wearing radioactive ghoul." I answered, I was about to puke at the thought of that ghoul, all that glowing flesh peeling off, that eye ball dangling  out of its' socket, it's maw hanging down wide open, just makes me shudder in disgust.

" Well the mutation might be your eye, here let me unwrap that." he volunteered, as he was unwrapping the bandage he asked me if I'd liked to go to dinner with him tonight, and sadly I agreed to it, but I thought that my sister, and especially Moonstone needed some rest, as he finished he asked if I could open my eye for him, so I did.

" Amazing, well there you have it I think the mutation is you eye." he stated, seriously, my eye was probably clawed out.

"Har har, very funny, my eye was clawed at, how could it be muta-" I mocked, but didn't finish what I was about to say as I zoned out. There standing behind Spectre, a stallion was showering, and his-" LUNA'S HOLY OVARIES, I DO NOT NEED TO SEE THAT!" I shouted, I must have been really red because my entire body was heating up, and Spectre was laughing his head off like a maniac, and he looked confused at the same time.

" What are you talking about Deadshot?" Spectre chuckled as he pulled me close to him.

" What?! you don't see the stallion taking a shower?!" I cried as I was covering my face. How does he not see that!?

" What stallion? there's no shower except the one next door, and tha-" he cut himself off, oh no, he's thinking of something I wouldn't like to do.

" Can you look at the stallion again, but this time cover your left." he requested, I was unsure at first, why would I do that. But I covered my left eye and looked in the same direction of the showering stallion, when I uncovered my right eye and looked I expected a showering pony, but all I could see was a wall.

" Wait what? it's just a wall?" I said, ok now I'm confused, this time I opened both eyes, and the wall was the only thing there.

" Why can't I see through the wall now?" I questioned, waiting for an answer from Spectre.

" Well, to be honest I don't really know, this is a new kind of mutation, tell me, what colour was the ghoul?" he asked, why does he need to know? Whatever, I told him that it was a red glowing ghoul.

" Fascinating a red glowing one, I've seen blue and green ones, but never a red one, but somepony else has, but he split town years back, you may not believe me, but it was your dad, he'd tell stories of his adventures to me all the time, and one of them had a red glowing ghoul in it, he said that if you can survive an attack from one you'd get powers from it." he explained, well this got even more confusing, my dad left town after my mom died, but he never told anypony where he went.

*Later that night on Deadshots' date*

" It's not a date!" I shouted to the weird voice, seriously where is it coming from.

" If it's not a date, then why are you in a dress, and wearing some make up?" Spectre asked, well how rude of him, he should appreciate the fact that I'm even wearing this.

" Well, I have to look nice, and not look like a stereotypical scavenger, plus, both my sister and Moonstone, and even Jumper kept bugging me about it until I said yes to going with you in this stupid dress." I explained while trying my hardest not to trip on my dress.

" Well I'm in this suit, so I guess we're both in the same boat, but where we're going to is the best and most fancy restaurant in tenpony tower." he added trying to sound all fancy like.

" You're liking this aren't you?" I questioned, as we were now standing in front of the restaurant, Phoenix paradise, what a name.

"I'm not gonna answer that." the electric blue stallion answered, and received a death glare from me as we were led to our table, Spectre looked at me with a 'you needed to relax' look on his face. A few minutes later a waiter came to our table and asked what we would like to drink, they had all kinds of alcohol here, so Spectre asked for the Dashing pegasus Vodka, while my answer was this.

" Raspberry sunrise, with ice, Oh and a little umbrella too." I ordered, the waiter simply nodded his head and left to get our drinks prepared.

" So, I've been thinking." said my friend sitting opposite of me, I didn't like it when he says that.

" I'm not going to kiss you." I quickly interjected, because I would never, he's been my friend since we were foals, so I'd probably never think of him as a suitable lover, maybe, but he ended up saying something else anyway.

" You're so cold Deadshot, but that's not what I was going to say, I was going to tell you that maybe you can see through objects only if you're thinking of looking through a wall, and I was also going to say that your mane looks beautiful too." he added, the last one caught me off guard making me blush.

" Well I figured that out already, but I found out that I can't see through ponies, clothing and my own mane, so after testing it for a while when I looked into a mirror I was freaking out, because my whole eye turned black and that my pupil is just nothing but a white dot with no iris." I responded, but whispered the last part to Spectre as the waiter came back with our drinks.

*Later after the date*

I was now in the room of my worst nightmare, Spectre's room. The place looked nice, but I knew there had to be some hidden secret here. Spectre walked up behind me putting a hoof on my neck running it down my back which made me jump away.

" Care to join me?" he asked putting on a seductive look on his face, which would've worked on any other mare but me.

" Thanks, but no, I'll just sleep on the couch." I responded not wanting to share a bed with this creep.

" Well no worries, your sister said she'd cut me up if I did anything to you, and I don't think she's kidding about it." he assured as a sweat dropped thinking about what my sister probably said to him.

* An hour before date *

" If you dare do anything to my sister Spectre, I'll personally cut your dick off and shove it down your throat while I'm cutting you to pieces, you got that!" Razor Edge threatened, while Spectre was shaking in fear.

"Y-yes, I've got it." Spectre answered still quivering before Razor Edge.

"Yes who?" Razor Edge asked.

"Y-yes ma'am!" he quavered.

* Present time *

I was happy my sister got to talk to him, now I can sleep in peace, as I was lying in the bed sleeping Spectre said something to me.

" You know, I kinda miss the old you from when we were foals." said the stallion laying next to me.

" You know full well that's impossible." I replied, remembering that day when everything changed.

" Well you won't know unless you try, anyways goodnight Deadshot." he added before he went back to sleeping, I wish we could go back to those times but you can't bring back the dead.

I awoke to the white plain again, and sitting on the ground was my mom, I walked up to her to see what she was doing.

" You know I've been with you and your sister ever since I died right?" my mother asked, but I kind of already knew.

" Yeah I kind of knew, I always had a feeling I've was being watched every now and then." I answered. But then a thought popped into my mind." Why can't my sister see you in her dreams like I do?" I questioned, because Razor Edge never had a dream like this before.

" It's possible that you're more spiritually sensitive than your sister." my mother responded as she smiled at me." Why don't I show you a few of your most happiest memories?" the ghost mom suggested, I don't know how she accessed my memory but I just simply nodded wanting to see what my own happiest moments were. The first memory was my fourth birthday when I got to go scavenging with my dad for the first time, with my very first pistol, it was a small but useful weapon.

My second memory was the day after my fifth birthday, the day of the massacre, when my dad stayed with me throughout the whole night keeping me company, since I was really broken ever since my mother died, but he kept me happy, although he caused the second most saddest moment in my life.

The third and final memory was of me and my sister raiding with a large group of ponies in a raider's base near Ponyville, now that was really fun, I think my kill count was at least ten raiders that day. My mom didn't like that last one much but she didn't seem to mind after seeing me happy. As the dream began to glow brighter and brighter I knew that the dream was ending, so till everything faded from white to black, I hugged my mother before I left.

*The next morning*

I woke up checking every part of me trying to make sure Spectre didn't try anything while I slept, but I was happy to find that he didn't do anything to me, I looked around only to find him still asleep, he kinda looks cute sleeping, no get your mind out of the gutter Deadshot. It was 9:00 am after I showered and brushed my mane, and I found Spectre still sleeping, so I try calling his name to wake him up but he kept saying that he's not home, so I tried poking him to wake him up but he said 5 more minutes, after many failed attempts at waking him up, I did what any mare would do in this situation.

*SMACK*.

" Ow! Ok ok, I'm up! Deadshot, why in the name of Celestia did you slap me for, I didn't do anything I swear!" he complained rubbing the left cheek of his face as it starting to turn red.

" Well it's because you looked impossibly too cute." I answered with a smirk.

" Well that's a bit dramatic." he mumbled, well it could have been more dramatic if I shot him with a shock spell.

" Anyway, I'm gonna visit my mom's grave, care to join me?" I offered, Spectre as always happily agrees. After his rather quick shower he followed me down to the cemetery, my mom was originally buried in Ponyville. My sister and I used to live there when we were around 8 years old, so when Spectre's dad moved to Tenpony tower we had to move with him, after we moved in we reburied my mom in this cemetery. I placed down a bouquet of flowers - mostly tulips - on the side of my mother's headstone as I had a moment of silence.

*Inscribed on the headstone says R.I.P Silverfang age 32.*

The silence was broken by very loud hoofsteps running up behind me, I thought it was probably somepony who wanted to rob me or something.

" Look, if you're gonna rob me then you'd better bring an assault rifle." I stated, I've had ponies try and rob me before so I knew how to deal with robber. As I turned around I faced a very familiar earth pony filly, who was now lying on the ground breathing heavily. " What are you doing here for, Eclipse?" I asked, she didn't have any dead family members, so I was curious as to why she was even here

" Deadshot *huff huff* Deadshot, my *wheez* dad said he found out, where your dad might be." she wheezed before she passed out. I picked her up with my magic and laid her across my back. My dad huh, what a coincidence, I needed answers from him and now he shows himself.
