Princess Celestia has begun to feel out of it as of late.

It was a strange thing, really. There was no reason for her to feel strange, yet everything just seemed to be off-kilter. The citizens resented her, the nobles were snarky, the dignitaries were overly-demanding, heck, even the Sun was being more moody than usual! Her food tasted bland and her energy levels were low. Her paperwork was endless and was a slog to get through. On, and on, and on. Something just seemed to be draining her of all her will, something extremely crucial that nagged and gnawed at her, and no matter what she tried, she just couldn’t put her finger on it.

She’s not sure how much longer she can go like this, but she’s pretty certain that she needs a break, and if she doesn’t get one, it’s not going to go well for her in the long term.

Prince Solaris has had a rough week.

He was pretty sure that something in the universe had it out for him, because nothing had gone right whatsoever. The citizens were demanding, the nobles were scheming and conniving, the dignitaries were greedy scumbags, and the sun was being finicky and pouting like a child. Not even food or drink gave him any respite because it all tasted like ash, and he just felt like a mindless, soulless robot, going about his tasks without any thought or enjoyment.

He felt drained and exhausted, just utterly sapped of energy. He knew that something was off, but he didn’t know what, and it was taking its toll as he pushed through the grind. He needed to find out what was missing, and fast, or he was going to crash and burn.

Fortunately, after many hundreds of long, long years, it is finally time for these two… to awaken.
