Over a year ago, Hunter Knighte got yanked into Equestria by a demonic centaur called Tirek. The ensuing battle in Canterlot Castle led to the death of one Theodore "Teddy" Bernham, the first human to arrive in Equestria. Leaping into a magical blast Tirek aimed at Hunter, Teddy saved the young man's life, at the cost of his own.

All that was left of him was his helmet.

Twelve months later, and the residents of Ponyville have not let a day go by without reminding Hunter what his life had cost.

Having finally had enough, Hunter prepared his few belongings and set out into the Everfree Forest.

He couldn't go home, or stay in Ponyville. The dangers in the woods seemed easier to deal with.

Was he right, or was he wrong?
