The Return of Midnight Sparkle

                                                                                                          Chapter seven:

                                                                                               Speaking with the demon.

Twilight flew over Canter lot City tears streaming down her cheeks as she flew. Looking down she could see all the people coming and going from whatever their destinations were. Some people looked generally happy while others had looks of sadness on their faces. Flying the direction of what was once her and Sunsets home she let out a loud screech as if she was a giant hawk searching for its prey. While flying the voice that had given her, her power and her sword and armor began to speak to her once more.

“Child why are still crying I thought you would be happy to have killed those people back at that place were I found you?”

Twilight at first didn’t reply to the voice within her head she wanted to go home and curl up under her blankets drifting off into sleep. Hoping, praying, wishing this was just a really bad nightmare and that Sunset wasn’t actually dead. That her body wasn't lying on some hospital morgue slab in the middle of the cold dead city. As she continued to Fly towards her home she again heard the voice within her head say to her.

“Child I think I should introduce myself to you maybe if you know who I am then you will talk to me.” The voice said wickedly.

At this point Twilight answered the voice that was sounding in her head.

“Leave me alone you already gave me armor and a weapon. But that doesn’t mean I have to actually talk to you.”

“Child my name is Midnight Sparkle and I am not your enemy, no just the very opposite I want to be your friend and I want to help you with your plan.”

“Plan what plan?”

“Child you swore to those that were once your ‘friends’ that this world shall burn! I simply want to make sure that happens is all. I want to make sure you are happy again.” Midnight said wickedly as she laughed.

Twilight seeing that her home was just coming into view said nothing as she began to bank and swoop down in order to land. Rising up into the air and coming down fully slamming into the cement as she landed screeching out like a hawk again. People all over stopped the neighbor hood in shock at what they saw standing on the now badly cracked sidewalk leading up to Twilight and Sunsets home. As Twilight looked around she noticed that people were actually staring at her. Grinning to herself as she slowly raised her hand into the air saying out loud coldly.

“Burn! All of you that are happy, all of you that are with your loved ones, all of you that are in love. You all shall BURN!”

A mighty purple and blue fire ball sprang out of the palm of her hand sailed into the air and exploded causing everyone within a two block radius to erupt into flames. Those that were not immediately torn apart by the flames tried to run away only to have their bodies ripped to shreds as the fire that Twilight had caused spread. A full encompassing circle engulfed the neighborhood as people of all ages and walks of life died on the spot with Twilight laughing menacingly saying as she laughed.

“Burn all of you shall BURN! she laughed.

Twilight walked up to the front door of her once former home. Not having a key she took hold of the door handle and ripped the door off its hinges throwing the door into an oncoming police car. The officer inside the car was killed instantly when the door collided with his squad car. The door cut the police cruiser clean in two. Walking inside the house Twilight’s mind was suddenly flooded with whispers from the happy moments she had spent with Sunset inside this house.

“I love you Sunset.” A voice whispered into her mind

“I want to spend the rest of my life with you Sunset” A another one said.

“I love you Twilight.” Still another said.

“Twilight come here take a look at this photo.” Whispered still another voice.

“You and I together forever, I love you honey.”  Yet another whispered to her.

It became too much for Twilight as she fell to the floor screaming out clutching her head  while sobbing.

“NO!” Twilight screamed.

Hearing Midnight once again laughing in her mind she screamed again as her wings unfurled themselves. Her body let out a massive explosion of fire that fully consumed the house. Rising to her feet slowly. Twilight looked around seeing that the house was now on fire. She looked around for the item that she had come here for. Seeing a glimmer of shiny metal Twilight walked over to what was once her kitchen and scooped up the shiny object. Looking at it then slowly draped it over her neck and closed the clasp of the object behind her neck. She could hear sirens approaching the burning house and smiling to herself she said coldly.

“Let them come I have what I wanted to collect from this….place.”

Twilight turned on her heel and slowly walked out of the burning home to an onslaught of awaiting police cars. As she stood there staring daggers at the officers who were getting out of their cars all of them shouting at her with their guns raised. Some of the officers she noticed were just raising their guns as if they didn’t really know what to actually make of her. One officer yelled to her.

“YOU WITH THE UH, BIRD WINGS RAISE YOUR HANDS NOW!”

Looking over to her right as another yelled at her as well.

“GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS UP, GET THEM UP NOW!”

Twilight just smiled as she turned her gaze back to the first officer who was now approaching her with a pair of handcuffs in his free hand and said coldly to him.

“Get my hands up?” Twilight sneered at the approaching officer.

“Yes get your hands above your head, Do it NOW!’. Yelled the officer.

Oh you mean like THIS!” Twilight said so coldly that ice would never melt.

She then raised her hands above her head bringing them back down down to her side. Causing a mighty shockwave of fire to fully appear from out of nowhere and crashing into the police cars. The officer that had approached her turned to look to see if any of his fellow officers had lived through the massive attack. When he turned back around Twilight was grinning eviling at him. She said only one word to him before she grabbed him by his throat picking him up.

“Ooops” Twilight said sneering at the officer in her being held up by her hand.

Twilight looked the officer up and down as he sputtered and spat trying to keep himself from choking in her powerful grip. As his hand began to flail about he reached out grabbing a hold of the item that hung so ever lightly around Twilight's neck. Twilight looked down then shot her had back up with a flash of scorn and hate in her eyes she screamed out at the officer that was struggling in her powerful grasp.

“YOU DARE GRAB WHAT IS NOT YOURS, YOU DARE TO TAKE FROM ME THE LAST OF WHAT I HAVE FROM MY WIFE!”

In her head she heard Midnight talking to her once more saying as she laughed coldly.

“Kill him child kill...him!”

Twilight’s eyes flared up and the police officer screamed in pain as his body was set ablaze. Within a matter of seconds the officer was ripped apart from the fire that Twilight had set ablaze against his clothing and flesh. Walking away from her former home Twilight threw the lifeless body of the officer to the ground then knelt down into a crouching position and lept into the air. Her wings unfurled again and she flew off towards the city laughing mercilessly as she flew. Hearing Midnight talk to her as she soared in the sky towards the unsuspecting city and it’s people of the danger that was coming towards them.

“You did good back there child, Now there is only one more thing I need you do to do before you head back to the city where this all began.” Midnight said laughing coldly in Twilight's mind.

“What would that be, why can’t I have my vengeance I saw her you know; my…..wife….I saw Sunset in my mind when I was in the house. I saw her and I want this world to PAY for my lose. If I can not be happy Midnight then why should this world be happy?” Twilight said as she banked and soared throughout the air heading deeper towards the unsuspecting city.

“Patience child you and I both will have our….revenge soon enough, But for the time being I need you to go the statue in front of the school. Place your hand onto it’s base and you and I shall become one. We will act as one, We will talk as one, we will be ONE single entity child.” Midnight hissed wickedly into Twilight’s mind.

Stopping in mid flight and thinking to herself not know that Midnight could actually hear her thoughts. Twilight began to think that joining Midnight as one might actually be a good idea.

“If I join her as one then maybe I won’t be alone any more after ALL, she has been the only friend that I have had since Sunset died.”

Turning towards the direction of the school Twilight sneered in anger as she said to Midnight grimly.

“If I become one with you now and forever then you WILL grant me my VENGEANCE upon this world. I want that bastard to pay and I want more than anything else for this world to feel my loss and pain Midnight that is the deal I AM willing to make with you.”

Midnight at first didn’t answer Twilight least not until she heard Twilight say aloud coldly.

“Give me vengeance like you promised me in the hospital or our deal is broken.”

Twilight felt a smile coming across her lips as she spoke in Midnight's voice.

“Very well child I will grant you vengeance. You kill the one that killed your wife and then destroy this world. However after your task is complete you WILL take us back to Equestria where I will lay waste to its lands and villages.”

“I care NOTHING for where you hail from ALL I want is my own personal vengeance and then whatever happens after matters not to me. Twilight said as she felt her body banking and turning back towards the city.

It was time to make the City of Canter lot pay for the crimes vested upon Twilight and her wife Sunset. Twilight now had her mission as evil as it was she was fully determined to fulfill her mission and kill the one that did this to her wife. Banking and swooping, Twilight flew as fast as a bullet towards the city. Upon seeing Canter lot City Square within view she banked downwards and slammed into the ground like a meteorite causing the ground beneath her feet to splinter and crack. Looking around at the shocked faces of the crowds of people standing around her Twilight smiled and like she did at her home she so did her. She raised her hands above her head then brought them back down to her side. Screaming coldly as she did this.

“BURN!”

Everyone within the City Square was ripped apart as fiery shockwave came crashing down all around her and the City Square. Twilight’s eyes went pure midnight black as she laughed watching the people of ages and walks of life scrambling in vain trying to get away from her as their bodies were ripped apart. She laid a gentle hand on the necklace that was draped over her neck and smiled to herself. Then she heard it, the sound that would forever be cemented into her mind. Unlike the other screams that day that were of people screaming as their useless bodies and flesh were turned to ash this scream was one for help. It was one that she knew all too well and one that was forever seared into her mind. Crouching down again and leaping into the air Twilight took off in the direction of the scream. Banking and twisting as she flew to avoid the buildings that were not on fire from her initial attack she landed in an ally way. Looking around she saw a young woman being held at gunpoint about to be mugged.

“Get away from her NOW!” screamed Twilight.

The man had his back to her and didn’t see her land behind him. His position was so that Twilight could see he was clearly mugging a woman and it helped that she had the good sense if not foolish sense to cry out for help. The man looked up and turned his head to face whoever it was that just screamed at him. Twilight was face to face with the same man that had murdered her wife. Looking at him and him at her a snarling fit of rage over took Twilight as she stared this man down. This person had taken everything from her. Her happiness, her love, her light, her hope it was all gone because of this man everything Twilight ever knew or loved was now dead. Staring at him her eyes glowed red with hate and blood lust. Twilight looked at him and him at her before she screamed out.

“YOU!”
