The Return of Midnight Sparkle

                                                                                                        Chapter Eight:

                                                                           Rainbow Dash and Applejack have a little...love chat.

Applejack walked down the dirt path leading to the Apple Family stables. Were inside she was sure to find Rainbow Dash either goofing off or hard at work mucking out Star Dusters stable. Getting to the door of the stables she looked at it up and down before entering. The stable doors were made out of hickory and oak with black hinges on the double doors that held fast to the big double doors. Each door was painted cherry apple red with white x’s on each door forming a perfect triangle. Applejack reached out and slowly grasped the stables door handle in her right hand.

Saying herself as she took a hold of the metal knob in her hand.

“I hope Rainbow isn’t goofing around like she did last time I told her to clean the stables out.”

It felt cold, smooth and hard as if the metal itself that was used to form the handle was just forged three days ago. Applejack dove out of the way just as one of Starry Cold’s hooves came crashing into the left side wall of her stall. Applejack scrambling to her feet as quickly as she could was suddenly jerked from behind and tossed unceremoniously to the ground outside of the stall. Hearing the stall gate slamming shut. She turned to see who it was that had just saved her life from the wild attack of the horse that was now kicking and banging about in it’s stall. Applejack was covered in dirt and bits of hay from being tossed out of the stall and landing unceremoniously on the ground. As she looked up to see who it was that saved her and saw that it was Rainbow dash who was just locking the door to Starry Cold’s stable. Saying to her as she climbed to her feet dusting herself off and wiping off her chin.

“Rainbow you saved me! Uh why didn’t you answer me when I first called you as I came into the barn stable?”

Rainbow turned after she was done bolting down the lock and sliding it into place to look at Applejack then turned to the right and started to walk off. Applejack seeing a lifeless blank look on Rainbows face finished dusting herself off and said as Rainbow walked away.

Looking at Pinkie then back at the stables then back at Pinkie Pie, Princess Celestia sighed saying sternly yet softly to her.

“I think we need to give those two a few more minutes of ‘alone time’. I do not want to sound rude to you young one but, it would behoove you to simply stay out of this.” Princess celestia said as she looked at Pinkie with eyes filled with concern for her.

Pinkie seemed to understand and turned to head inside the house before she got inside though she looked back and said to Princess Celestia.

“Okay Princess if you really think I should stay out of it then I will. But I have a bag here that uh should be at the least placed up against the stable doors for those two.”

“I am going to have ask Pinkie if she somehow knew what we were up to today” Rainbow thought to herself.

As she picked up the bag and made her way back over to her girlfriend she could see that Applejack was completely covered in orgasmic fluid. Rainbow smiled then set the back down again and very gently placed her hand onto Applejacks cheek. Rubbing her cheek softly as she leaned in to kiss Applejack on the lips. As Rainbow kissed her girlfriend Applejack moaned and slowly woke up. Looking up into Rainbows eyes Applejack smiled to her saying softly.

“Do you feel more like yourself now Rainbow?”

Rainbow looked down as she answered the question a tear slipped past her eyes and trickled down her cheek falling to the ground. She did feel more like herself however she knew that they would have to fully talk about what had happened to her and what lead her to attack her girlfriend like that.

“Yes….I feel more like myself….now.” Rainbow said.

Applejack slowly sat up and reached out pulling Rainbow into a tight embrace saying gently to her.

“If y’all ever need to talk to me no matter the time of day I will always be there for you honey you know that.”

“I know, now we have some fresh clothing that I think Pinkie Pie gave us so let's get cleaned up and head back to the house. I am sure the others are wondering where we are and what we have uh, er; ummm, been doing.”  Rainbow said as she accepted the embrace with a tight hug of her own.

Applejack just nodded looking Rainbow up and down as she ended the embrace then looked Rainbow up and down. Smiling she said to her as she helped her up.

“There is a hose in the back we can both use to wash off with. It will be a bit cold but, it's either that or we walk back like this.”

Rainbow blushed at the idea of walking back to the house in her birthday suit. Applejack took Rainbow by the hand and led her over to the back wall and handed her the hose. The she turned it on and Rainbow raised it so that Applejack was now standing under the running water. Applejack’s body gleamed like a onyx jewel as the water trickled down her body and washed off all the orgasmic fluid she was covered with. Rainbow couldn’t help but grin at seeing her girlfriend glistening like a jewel in the stables. She let out a soft yet noticeable laugh as Applejack slowly reached out and took the hose from her holding it out so Rainbow could also clean up.

“What’s so funny honey?” Asked Applejack as he held the hose up for Rainbow to start cleaning up.

Rainbow didn’t say anything as she stepped underneath the water and let the cold water wash her body off. It felt cold and cool at the same time. Sighing to herself once she was done washing up and dripping wet from the makeshift shower Rainbow looked around but couldn’t see anything to dry off with. Looking back at Applejack she was about to say something when Applejack turned and started to walk towards the doors of the stables. Watching her as she went Rainbow said softly under her breath.

“I don’t know where she is going but we need something to dry off with. I don’t want to put those clothes on while I am still wet.”

Applejack came back a few seconds later holding a saddle bag in her hands and smiled at Rainbow. She set the bag down then opened it to reveal two cream colored towels in it. Rainbow quirked an eyebrow at this then looked at the before offered towel and asked while she smiled at Applejack.

“UMM where did those come from?”

Applejack just grinned and simply said to her as she took out one of the towels for herself.

“I have been coming in here for weeks and there are times when I get a little filthy. So I have to undress and cover myself with something. Well over the last few weeks of working that damn Starry Cold over I felt it was time to have towels at the 'ready.'  Here take this and get dried off. Applejack said as she handed a towel to Rainbow.

Rainbow just looked at the towel then at Applejack and took it then began to dry off. Once she and Applejack were both completely dry Applejack took both towels and laid them over one of the stall doors to dry them out. She then picked up one of the pair of jeans that Pinkie had provided to them and slipped them on. After words she slipped on a pair of socks and her boots then put on the bra and shirt that was also in the bag. Rainbow did the same and within a matter of minutes the two found themselves walking hand in hand back to the farm house. Getting up to the door Applejack turned to Rainbow laid a gentle hand on her cheek and said as she leaned in for a kiss.

“You will never have to be afraid like that again. I will protect you and watch over you. I love you Rainbow Dash.” Applejack said as she planted her lips fully onto Rainbows lips.

Rainbow didn’t say anything she melted into the kiss then as it ended she and Applejack proceeded to head inside the house. Pinkie was in the kitchen and Rarity was in the living room with Princess Celestia. Looking at the Princess in her golden armor and then at Rarity who was sitting on a couch flipping through TV channels. Rainbow and Applejack both sighed then walked into the living room together. Princess Celestia looked up from her gaze on the TV and smiled warmly at the two of them. She said to them both as they each came into the living room together.

“Young ones I really hope I didn’t embarrass either of you with my uh blunt statement to you when I dropped that bag off at the doors of the stables.” Celestia said as she looked at each of them in turn.

Rainbow just shrugged her shoulders while Applejack sat down on the couch saying softly to her guest.

“Don’t you go fretting it. We are all adults in here and I am sure that it really isn’t that big of a deal. Besides with all that you have either seen or heard in your long years as a Princess. You more than likely have seen far worse than that.” Applejack said as she turned her gaze over to Rarity who looked a little uncomfortable with what was being said in the living room.

Rainbow just grinned when she too looked over at Rarity who was still flipping through channels on the TV.  As Applejack turned her gaze back to the TV one channel caught her eye and she yelled out.

“Rarity stop!, Wait go back one channel! Hurry!” Applejack said as she jumped off the couch staring at the TV in shock.

As Rarity clicked the button on the remote control the channel that had caught Applejacks attention came back into view. The four occupants in the living room just either stood there or sat there in total shock as to what was being shown on the screen. The TV showed a reporter on sight of what looked like a completely destroyed Canterlot City Square. Applejack exclaimed out in shock as her eyes drank in with all the horror in the world as to what she saw on the screen of her television.

“TURN THE VOLUME UP HURRY!”

As the volume was turned up each of them heard coming out of the TV as the reporter spoke into her microphone.

“This just in Canterlot City Square lies in ruins. The attack earlier today ended with some creature that was last seen either flying or chasing after someone down Cantor street and Walnut avenue. The creatures attack on the city has left sixty eight dead and seventy four badly injured. It has not yet been confirmed if this is an attack by a terrorist group. or the work of this creature alone. If you are any where near the city get out now.” The reporter said as she looked on while the camera filmed everything.

Princess Celestia got up off the couch saying to all that were present.

“It is time to end this!”

Rarity was about to say something when Pinkie Pie walked into the living room followed by Twilight whom no seemed to have actually noticed was in the kitchen with Pinkie Pie. Looking at the screen Pinkies hair immediately deflated and Twilight lowered her head in sadness at what they both saw on the screen. They each let their tears fall for what their friend was doing and what she had become. Celestia walked over to both of them lying upon each girl a gentle hand on each of their shoulders. Saying softly to each of them.

“My dear friends we will need to be strong now more than ever if we are to stop this nightmare from happening any further. I think it would be best if I go to the school and the portal and you and the others try to get Midnight Sparkle to follow you there.” Celestia said kindly to both Pinkie Pie and Twilight.

“Twilight looked up and asked.

“Why do you want her to go to the school when the battle is so very clearly taking place in the city?” Twilight said as she looked into the eyes of her mentor and friend.

“Because my dear faithful student in order for this world's Twilight to become fully consumed by Midnight Sparkles spirit. Midnight needs the power of the portal to make herself whole again. You see right now although she is mostly in control of this world's Twilight she is not in complete control at least not yet that is.” Replied Celestia as she held both Pinkie and Twilight’s shoulders warmly with her hands.

“What are you saying Princess, uh your majesty? That the portal acts like sort of device that can actually save lives or heal broken spirits in a way?” Asked Rarity as she looked at everyone in the room with a confused look on her face.

“No young one. The portal actually has the power to cause two spirits that are of the same body to become one whole spirit. However while this is happening one of those spirits must die in order to let the other live within the new host body. It is for this reason that we must get to Twilight before Midnight can fully take control of her.” Princess Celestia said as she looked at Rarity then at the group.

Looking around Applejack said as she looked over to Rainbow Dash who was sitting on the end of the couch’s arm looking off into space.

“I ah’think we need to get going now I know we don’t have the time now to go get everything that we need to help our friend. But there is something that might help us if you all will excuse me for a second.” Applejack said as she started to walk out of the room.

Rainbow looked over to Princess Celestia and half smiled at her when the Princess noticed this she got up and walked over to her. Rainbow not sure what to do as the Princess stared at her coldly said simply.

“Uh hello.”

“Come with me young one you and I need to talk to you.”

Rainbow lowered her head but didn’t argue with the Princess. She followed the Princess outside onto the porch and took a sit next to the front door. Looking up at Celestia who was clearly not happy with her. Rainbow wanted to break the already building tension with some snarky response but couldn’t think of one. She sat there on the cold hard cement floor of the porch looking into the eyes of the princess hoping this wouldn’t end badly for her. Princess Celestia said softly yet sternly as she looked the young athlete up and down. Trying to decide if she should scold Rainbow for her behavior towards her or if she should treat her like a equel.

“I need to know why did you do what you did to me when we were all at the school earlier today? Do you really hate me that much to scare me to death like that!” Celestia snapped at Rainbow.

Rainbow looked down at the ground then slowly back up at the Princess before replying to her.

“No I do not hate you all. I wanted to show you I wasn’t someone that was going to let you come into our world and kill one of your best friends. Yes I fully admit to you here and now that I have not been on the best of terms with either of them. But that doesn’t mean I want to see either of them dead. I was also angry that you went ahead and told your Twilight to take Sunset Shimmer's body to your world for burial a world that none of us can go to for this burial. You may be her former mentor and teacher however that doesn’t give you the right to take Sunset away from us and bury her in a land that no other than yourself and your Twilight can go to.”

Celestia looked out over the pasture and field that made up the whole of Sweet Apple acres. Then back at Rainbow before she said with a sigh.

“You are perhaps right. I never should have taken her home like that I should have waited and asked your worlds Twilight what she wanted done with her wife's body. Very well I will have my worlds Twilight go home and bring back Sunsets body in order for her to be laid to rest with honor in this world.” Celestia said with a hint of deep sadness to her voice.

“I thought with Sunset turning on you, attacking Princess Twilight and becoming a full fledged raging she-demon she couldn’t be laid to rest with honor.” Ask Rainbow with a look of  confusion coming over her face.

The Princess smiled and looked at Rainbow then out back at the pastor again. Before saying to Rainbow as she reached out and placed a gentle hand over her shoulder.

“This is true she shouldn’t have been buried as a hero at all, in fact she actually should have been cast out of Equestria forever. However because she died giving her life as you and your friends all saw in the visions that I showed you. She is indeed a hero and thus that alone was enough to negate all that she had done.”

Rainbow said nothing as she slowly rose to her feet then looked out to the pasture as Pinkie and the others came out side. Rarity said as she was the last to exit the house to both Celestia and Rainbow Dash.

“Your majesty, Rainbow I feel it might be a brilliant idea if we split up from here sending one group to the school and the other to Canterlot City Square in search of Twilight.”

The princess sighed then turned and looked at Rarity and the others before saying.

“Which group do you want me to go with?”

Placing a finger to her chin and tapping it lightly Rarity said as she looked at both Rainbow Dash and Princess Celestia.

“How about we do this. Princess Celestia will go with myself, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy to the city. Applejack, Rainbow and the other Twilight will go to the statue at the school. Is this an agreeable plan to all of you?”

Each of them looked at each other then back at Rarity before Applejack said loudly.

“NO!” Applejack said loudly while looking over at Rainbow Dash while she spoke.

Before Applejack could begin to say something else she was cut off when Twilight of Equestria chimed in.

“Listen Rarity I know you mean well and all I really do like your plan but sending Celestia after this world's Twilight when is possessed by Midnight. Is both foolish and stupid! If Midnight sees or perhaps learns that Celestia is here in this world then she will do all that she can to either fully consume Twilight's spirit. Or she will actually try to attack The Princess something that I can not allow to happen.”  Twilight said while staring at Rarity.

Celestia sighed and looked over at each of the six friends gathered on the porch before calmly saying to all present.

“Then why don’t we do this. How about I stay here with Fluttershy who can use one of the uh ‘cars’ I think you called them to bring me to the statue if she is there. While the rest of you go to the city to find her and try to stop her from killing any more innocent people.”

Everyone nodded at this new plan. As Fluttershy and Celestia headed inside Applejack looked over to her girlfriend Rainbow Dash who was walking towards the vehicles. Sighing she said to everyone.

“Come on y’all we have a ourselves a job to get done. So let's do it.”

Applejack walked away from the group for a minute. While she followed Rainbow Dash up to the first car and softly laid a gentle hand onto her shoulder saying to her.

“Sugar cube you going to be OK? Your looking a little down again.”

Looking at Applejack then at the car then back at her girlfriend Rainbow said softly to her.

“I’ll be fine I want to tell you what happened to me but, I really don’t want the others to hear it either. I don’t need their pity or their remorse over this.”

Applejack pulled Rainbow into a tight hug then softly said to her. While she ran her fingers through her hair stroking her hair gently.

“Hmmm the only way to get that honey is if we each take a car for ourselves. However doing so will leave The princess without a means of getting to the school. I don’t know about you honey but, I highly doubt that Princess Celestia can actually fly. Unlike Twilight when she is in demon form I have not seen any wings on Celestia at all. Even if she could fly I don’t think that armor she is wearing is light enough for that sort of thing.”

Rainbow accepted the embrace with a hug of her own wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and said softly in her ear while holding her tightly.

“You're forgetting that Twilight flew just fine with her armor on when we all saw her at the hospital.”

“True, However I believe that armor was lightweight plate armor. Celestia, er, uh the Princess I mean looks to be wearing some sort of battle ready heavy duty armor.” Applejack replied as she hugged Rainbow.

“Either way it doesn't really matter now anyways. We have a plan and all want to do now is simply talk to you nothing more than that." Rainbow said as she continued to hug her girlfriend.

Applejack sighed slightly and said softly to Rainbow.

"Let's not talk about battles or armor any more OK honey?"

Rainbow nodded as she held her girlfriend then said gently to her.

"OK honey I won't talk about battle or armor any more. Either way I still want to talk you about what happened to me. Yet at the same time I really don’t want the others to know what actually happened to me. I absolutely don’t want Fluttershy to find out because I know she would blame herself for it.” Rainbow said still hugging Applejack

Applejack ended the embrace then looked at Rainbow in the eyes softly saying to her.

“Honey come on now sugar cube I doubt very much that Fluttershy would actually blame herself for what happened to you.”

“You don’t understand I tried going to her the day that I was kicked out of Sunsets and Twilights home. I got up to her door, knocked on it but was told to leave. I didn’t even get the chance to explain myself to her before she slammed the door in my face. With nowhere else to go I wound up on the streets.” Rainbow replied as a single tear dripped out of her eyes and trickled down her cheek.

“I see and I take it no one other myself and you know what actually happened to you during those five months that you were on the streets right.” Applejack asked she reached up and slowly wiped away Rainbows tears.

“Correct no one other than you and I actually know what happened to me out there on the streets.” Rainbow said as she sniffed a little trying to keep herself from a full out break down.

“Let me go talk with the others before the get up here. Maybe I can convince them to take both sets of cars. While we find some other means of getting the Princess to the school if Twilight should actually go there that is.” Applejack said as she turned to leave.

“Alright and thank you A.J.” Rainbow replied with a slight smile on her face.

As Applejack left to go talk to the others Rainbow opened the door to the car she was standing next to and climbed in. Closing the door she looked through the window of the car out at Applejack and watched her walk up the path back to the house. Seeing that everyone was just coming back out except for Fluttershy and Princess Celestia Rainbow let out a sigh. Then closed her eyes and began to think about what had happened to her after she had been kicked out of the house. That she once shared with Sunset and Twilight. She didn’t open her eyes again until she heard a knock on the window. Looking up she saw Rarity standing next to the car. Rarity said politely to her.

“Darling would you be a dear and step out of the car? We all talked and we feel that you should stay here with Applejack and Celestia. The rest of us will go to the city and look for our world's Twilight and try to stop her from doing any more damage.”

Rainbow said nothing as she opened the car door then slowly climbed out of the car. Rainbow looked at Rarity then up towards the house then back at Rarity before she started to walk towards the house. Rarity wasn’t sure what was going on she only knew that she and the others needed to head to the city in the hopes that they could somehow stop Twilight from causing any more damage. As Rainbow got up to the house the rest of her friends all gave her a warm smile then headed off to the car to leave for the city. She walked up the front door opened it and walk into the house and looked around and found her girlfriend Applejack sitting on the couch next to Celestia. Rainbow Looking at Applejack then at Celestia before she said to Applejack.

“Applejack can we...I mean can you and I find some place to talk….you know in uh private?” Rainbow said with a look of concern on her face.

Applejack looked at her then turned to the Princess and asked.

“Your majesty would you please most kindly excuse me and my girlfriend for a few minutes? There are a few things that we need to talk about in private if that is alright with you that is?”

“Of course young one.” Replied Celestia warmly.

Applejack got off the couch and walked over to Rainbow dash taking her by the hand she led Rainbow Dash down a hallway and into her bedroom. Before shutting the door she quickly headed back to where Celestia was and handed her, her phone saying to Celestia as she held the device out for her.

“When and if this rings press the green button and hold this up to your ear to talk.” Applejack said as she pointed to a green lit up button on the cellphone that she held out for Celestia.

Celestia looked at the phone then up at Applejack and smiled warmly taking the device in her hand she said to Applejack.

“Thank you Applejack I will do as you have asked of me. And I will come get you two if there is any news from this device.”

“That's all we can ask for now your majesty.” Replied Applejack as she turned to head back to her bedroom to talk with Rainbow Dash.

Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight and Rarity all got into one of the two cars parked out front of Applejack's home and Rarity started up the engine. As the car roared to life she looked out at the peaceful farm and the house saying to herself.

“I sure hope we will be able to stop our worlds Twilight from causing any more damage.”

Putting the car in reverse she backed out of the driveway and the four friends headed to the city. Each in turn hoping and praying in silence that this would end well and that they would be able to stop Twilight from destroying this world. Twilight’s attack on Canterlot City had shown each of her former friends two things. One: Twilight was being consumed with hate and vengeance. And two: Midnight Sparkle was very powerful and thus the battle to save Twilight from Midnight might not goes as planed. The car left the parking lot and the four occupants headed for the city and for what could be there last stand against pure evil.
