"Polls in Iowa continue to be in favor of Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, who remains with a 33.6% lead. Analysts say, however, that his lead could be challenged by New York governor Mitchell Larson, whose swift response to the still lingering effects of Winter Storm Jonah in New York City and Long Island have resulted in a steady rise over Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, which may be what's needed to...."
Donald Trump turned off the television."Damn it, Larson. ", he thought to himself.
Though he didn't allow himself to show it, Trump was getting more and more nervous as the Iowa caucuses edged closer and closer. He sat at his desk in his hotel room, already finished with a rough script for his speech that he planned on giving in front of the Iowa state capitol in less than two hours, and mulled over recent events.
"Thank God for Sarah Palin, or else Larson might already be ahead. ,he thought again.
His campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, knocked on the door. Trump got up and opened the door.
"Oh, hello Corey. What's going on?", he asked.
Corey had a handful of papers in his hands, and he started rifling through them.
"Well, Mr.Trump, I believe we need to talk about Governor Larson." he said.
"No, I didn't think about that ." Trump replied sarcastically.
Corey decided to ignore the sarcasm, being normal for Trump, and continued. "We don't have much on him. He was a script writer for several animated shows in LA before he moved to New York and ran for governor back in 2011."
"Probably why he's so goddamn good at speeches." Trump muttered grouchily." Keep lookin' for something, I've got a speech to make, and a socialist to pick apart."
He walked past Corey out of the room, leaving him standing bewildered. He made the trip down to the lobby, while calling for a limousine on his cell phone.

President Barack Obama was writing at his desk in the Oval Office when there was a knock at the door. His Secret Service agent looked through a peephole in the door, and after getting approval, let the person in.
Secretary of Defense Ash Carter walked in, and started in, "Mr. President, we need you in the Situation Room."
The President stood up as more agents walked in the room, ready to escort him. The two men walked out of the Office, and started the walk, nearly silent on the way down.
Soon, he walked in with Carter, and sat down with everyone else, who included the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Vice President Joe Biden.
"Talk to me." the President said simply.
Carter stood up. "Mr. President, about an hour ago, satellite pictures have detected a large disturbance on the Atlantic Ocean." ,he gestured toward pictures on a projector, "It appears to be a large type of landmass. We thought it was an error, but we got reports from naval ships in the area that confirms the authenticity of this."
The President was stunned. After dealing with many things throughout his presidency, he simply expected his last year in office to be uneventful, and now they had a friggin continent in the Atlantic to deal with! "Michelle's gonna be pissed. " he thought to himself.
"Have any of the ships made contact yet?" he asked.
Carter stated, "No, sir, while the continent appears to be populated, it doesn't seem to be capable of sending radio signals."
The President then made a decision, "I want one of our ships to land and make contact."
Princess Luna
Seaddle, Equestria
The Princess of the Night was unsure of herself. While she was visiting Seaddle to attend an Equestrian charity concert in her honor, it seemed that the very earth had shaken throughout, bringing loads of concertgoers into a panic and resulting in the disappearance of the star, Countess Coloratura.
A royal guardspony looked at her nervously. "Princess, we must go before these ponies go insane!" he yelled over the roar of the crowd.
"Nonsense." Luna said." I must calm them down"
She then lifted off into the air, right onto the stage, and shouted, "Everypony, settle down!"
The crowd didn't heed her, so she shouted in the Royal Canterlot Voice, "CALM YOURSELFS, EVERYPONY!"
Finally, the noise level was reduced to soft whispers as Luna prepared to speak. "Do not worry everypony, for the event that you just witnessed was a simple earthquake. I must ask that..." she trailed off, because she suddenly noticed a large, menacing metal contraption moving into Seaddle Harbor. The crowd noticed, and immediately started walking toward the harbor in fascinated stares.
"Really, frightened by an earthquake, but not a giant machine?" Luna thought to herself.
She looked out as the contraption settled in its spot just at the entrance to the harbor. It suddenly did something nopony ever expected.
"Hello, this is the USS Hue City, can you respond?" it shouted out in a scratchy sounding voice.
Princess Luna blinked in surprise, and continued staring at the strange machine.
"Repeat: This is the USS Hue City, can you respond?", it repeated.
Luna finally decided to make a decision. She again lifted up her wings, and flew off toward the machine.

Off the coast of Seaddle
Admiral James Grozny was at the edge of the ship, staring out at the strange new city with his other officers. James was a tough man, having enlisted in the navy and served in the ever-raging War on Terror, and had a son who enlisted after 9/11.
"What do you all think is over there?" he asked his fellow officers.
"I don't know sir, but the city kinda reminds me of Seattle, it's got something like a Space Needle over there. Maybe it's like back home" Vice Admiral Dwight Barnhardt replied.
"Oh my God,look!" one of the enlisted men nearby yelled. They looked out as a bluish streak headed directly to the ship.
"Oh, fuck." Grozny muttered. He knew the "missile" was too close for evasive maneuvers, so he uttered a quick prayer that their deaths would be quick. It then surprised him when the streak slowed down to a stop, right in front of the officers.
They looked in awe at the strange creature, which looked like a giant horse with wings. Some of the enlisted men aimed guns at the creature, who looked at them with curiosity. Grozny finally stepped up to it.
"I am Admiral James Grozny of the USS Hue City, and we are here for peaceful intentions. What is your name?"
The creature didn't halt. " I am Princess Luna of Equestria."
Grozny decided to continue, " How did you and this continent even land on Earth, if you don't mind me asking?"
Princess Luna stuttered, "Earth?" "What in Celestia's name happened? , she thought to herself.
Donald Trump

"Thank you, Iowa, and together, we WILL Make America great again!" Trump shouted to a large group of people in front of the State Capitol. He stepped down from his podium and made his way to a nearby limousine, which was ready to take him to dinner with his wife, Melania. However, he received a phone call right as he entered the limo.
"Dad, get to the hotel, and fast!" his son, Donald Trump Jr., nearly shouted.
"Why?" Trump asked. "I can't catch one evening with my wife ?" he thought to himself.
About a half hour later, Trump was met outside his hotel by Corey, who was in an even more frantic mood than usual." Donald, they've been talking about it on the news since you left!" he exclaimed as they walked into the hotel to his room.
Trump was starting to get real annoyed at that moment. "Okay, what the hell is so important enough for me to be dragged back to my hotel?" he asked, exasperated.
The two walked into his room, joining Donald Trump Jr., among others. "Look at this!" he pointed at the screen.

"We ask our viewers to stay tuned as we get more information on this unbelievable event in the Atlantic. For the viewers just joining now, we have some satellite pictures of what appears to be a large island, about the size of Algeria, that has simply appeared in the middle of the Atlantic. Several naval vessels from the United States and Europe have already made contact with inhabitants of the island, and..."
Not much could impress the tough New Yorker, but Trump had to admit, in all 69 years of his life, there was nothing more amazing to him (except possibly himself) than an island appearing out of nowhere, a huge one, no less!
"Good God." was all Trump could say at that moment. He looked to everyone else in the room, and then said, "I believe we need to talk."
Someone turned off the television, and all eyes turned on him. " This is definitely something that's going on the debate, right?" he asked.
Corey pondered for a second, then replied, "Donald, I doubt they'll talk about this during the debate. I mean, no one even knows much of what happened."
The group started to argue back and forth, mostly discussing what the event would change in the upcoming Republican debate in two days. Corey finally turned to Trump, " I think that this means you have to go to the debate."
He looked at Corey, stunned. " I thought we agreed not to go. That bim- excuse me- lightweight reporter Kelly would just love to smash me to bits!"
Corey decided to take a more assertive stance to Trump, hitting him right at his ego. " Hey, if you don't do this, then she'll probably call you weak." he said simply.
Trump looked at him, offended." I am not weak! I'd show that bitch who's boss of this election!" he bellowed.
Corey smirked." You can't do that without joining the debate." he stated rather slyly.
"Alright, then I will!" Trump exclaimed. He ordered everyone out of the room, so that he could prepare for the upcoming debate.

Melania Trump was getting annoyed. Her husband had promised to take time off in order to sit down and eat a nice dinner with her.
"Where the hell is he ?" she muttered to herself.
January 27th
Admiral James Grozny
USS Hue City
2 miles off Equestrian coastline
The pony chariot was guided to the small landing space at the stern of the missile cruiser, holding the pony James had been told by Pegasus messengers was named Princess Twilight Sparkle. Everyone on board decided, unanimously, that the experienced admiral would be the one to greet and speak with her, after gaining approval that came directly from the Pentagon.
He watched as the small Princess stepped unsteadily off the chariot, and he stepped to her side. "Hello, I am Admiral James Grozny, and I am glad to welcome you aboard the USS Hue City, Your Highness." he said, smiling.
Twilight Sparkle returned the smile, and spoke, "Thank you, Admiral."
James led her indoors, where they passed several doorways before he opened the door to a small room, containing only a table with several chairs. He and Twilight each sat in a chair across from each other. After they settled in, he decided to start right off. "So, I would like to ask you some questions. Most were devised by my leaders back in Washington, so I hope you don't mind it if it gets a little tedious." he chuckled.
"No, I don't mind at all." Twilight said.
The admiral opened a folder that was on the table in front of him, and started to read off some questions. "What is the name of your country, or countries if there's more than one on the island?"
" I represent the nation of Equestria, and we are the only nation on the island, excepting some border towns belonging to the nation of Yakyakistan, and the autonomous Crystal Empire." Twilight answered.
He read off more questions as time dragged on, and he learned some interesting things during his time in that small room, such as Equestria having four princesses with no king or queen (she was apprehensive when he asked about it) and that she was, officially, the Princess of Friendship. "She must have some kind of role in keeping the peace or something. " he thought to himself.
Soon, he finished his session with the young Princess, and he stood up, thanking her for her time. Twilight Sparkle shook hand and hoof with him, and walked toward the stoically posed Pegasus ponies ready to fly her to HMS Severn, for another meeting.
James watched the chariot take off, under the new surveillance of Air Force helicopters making passes over Equestria, and then stepped back inside. He had a conversation with the Pentagon to look forward to.

The president stepped onto the podium under the watchful eye of his Secret Service detail. He looked to the First Lady, Michelle, who gave him a thumbs up. He smiled in response, and, turning to the crowd of reporters and cameras in front of him, began to speak.
"My fellow Americans. Yesterday, the world was changed by a dramatic event unparalleled in human history,
At 3 pm, Eastern Standard Time, an island simply appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. Thanks to the efforts of our naval and air forces and that of our allies in Europe, we have made contact with the inhabitants, and we have learned much from them already in the past 24 hours.
The nation on the island, the only one, is named Equestria. It is inhabited by a mass number of sentient creatures, the most prominent of which most resemble a kind of pony."
The President continued with his speech, sharing small tidbits of the new nation for about ten minutes while reporters frantically jotted down notes, some which would later be unrecognizable. Finally, Obama started to draw his speech to a close.
" Soon, all the nations will get to know this new nation, and will hopefully welcome it in with open arms. The United States of America certainly will. Thank you all, and God bless you, God bless Equestria, and most of all, God bless America."
President Obama walked from the podium amidst shouted questions from reporters and received a message from his chief of staff. He read it, and sighed. "Thank God I'll be out of here next year. " he groaned inwardly.
January 28th
Republican Presidential Debate
Des Moines, Iowa
The debate began like pretty much any other. The moderators, Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly, and Chris Wallace, after introducing themselves and thanking Google for their support, began to introduce the candidates.
Kelly started in, "Nine candidates are on that stage tonight, their position on the stage determined by their standing in the latest national polls, as well as polls in Iowa and New Hampshire, and here they are:
"New York businessman Donald Trump." Trump smiled and waved at the crowd.
"New York Governor Mitchell Larson." Larson pumped his fists into the air, showing his youthful vigor to the audience.
"Texas Senator Ted Cruz." Cruz smiled and waved, similar to Trump, but holding his hand in the air for only a quick second.
Kelly continued to introduce the candidates one by one, each eliciting a round of applause. After explaining the rules briefly, she started by directing her first questions at Donald Trump.
"Mr.Trump, during your campaign, you have repeatedly continued to make attacks against your fellow candidates, most notably Governor Larson's repeated proposals involving the Middle East, and Saudi Arabia. Can you briefly explain why you believe his policies are a bad idea?"
Trump listened, and began his mentally prepared response." Well, for starters, Governor Larson has made repeated attacks against Saudi Arabian policies regarding its women, however, I believe that, as long as their women are happy or content, then it shouldn't be too big of an issue, especially considering, he is ignoring the more important Middle Eastern problem that is ISIS. if I am elected president, I will make sure that, unlike Larson, I will be sure to involve myself in only the more important issues in our country."
The crowd applauded, and Chris Wallace directed his attention at Larson, who was patiently listening to Trump's attack, steeling himself for his reply. Sure enough, Wallace asked him, "Governor Larson, how do you stand?"
Larson replied, "Well, Chris, I just want to say that I am definitely not ignored ISIS. In fact, I believe that, the second that I am elected president, I will make sure that boots are on the ground in Iraq and Syria before anything else. Regarding the Saudis, they have been mistreating their women for years, decades even. I recently read an article that showed that the average Saudi Arabian woman faces discrimination worse than most countries, and it is even illegal just for a woman to so much as look at another man without severe punishment. Even their first election involving women candidates was heavily against them. Women's rights candidates were discouraged from running.."
He was interrupted by the ringing bell, which turned the focus away from Larson.
For the next hour, the candidates were all asked a variety of questions, most revolving around ISIS, Hillary Clinton, and domestic policy. Soon, the topic turned to the new Atlantic continent, which had attracted a lot of media attention over the past couple of days.
Bret Baier was the one to ask about it first. "Senator Cruz, I would like to ask you, what do you believe the American government should be working on regarding the newly arrived country known as Equestria?"
Cruz smiled, and with all of his Texan charm, he responded, " Bret, when I first heard about the new continent in the Atlantic, I thought at first that, well, it was a load of bull, but didn't everyone else? I guess it turns out it was a load of horse.", The audience gave light chuckles before he continued, " Anyway, I believe that it is the duty of the United States of America to welcome the new Equestria to our planet with open arms, and help guide them towards learning about our planet and adjusting towards it."
The other candidates, for the rest of the debate, weighed in their opinion about Equestria. Most were in favor of welcoming Equestria, though some exercised the idea of a more cautious agenda, such as Trump, Larson, Chris Christie, and Marco Rubio.
Soon, the debate finally ended. Millions watching the debates, more importantly those in Iowa, made up their minds who to vote for in their state primaries.

TRUMP WINS IOWA, CRUZ AND LARSON TRAIL CLOSE BEHIND
DES MOINES,IA- After an intense week of campaigning in Iowa and an important debate last Thursday, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump managed to gain a hold on the state of Iowa. He won over 7 delegates and a 28.2% lead, followed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz with 27.3% and New York Governor Mitchell Larson with 26.8%. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton won 23 delegates over Bernie Sanders in a very close run, separated by only .6%

MANCHESTER,NH- As the New Hampshire debate edges closer, Donald Trump continues to make big leads. Analysts have almost no doubt that he will take New Hampshire in a landslide, however, the debate, set to occur on the 9th, will most likely determine who will be able to win the state. For the Democrats, Bernie Sanders has also started to gain popularity, most likely due to his status as a New Englander.

EQUESTRIA SUBMITS APPLICATION FOR UN MEMBERSHIP
NEW YORK, NY- Princess Celestia of Equestria made her first state visit outside Equestria today, speaking outside of New York City Hall with Mayor Bill de Blasio. In her speech, she announced her intention for Equestria to become an official member of the United Nations, while working to establish diplomatic relations with countries around the world. " After learning more about the United Nations, I believe that joining it would be very beneficial for our country, and help in our quest to remain a peaceful nation." the Princess stated in her speech. The United Nations Security Council is expected to take a vote on March 1st.

TRUMP STIRS CONTROVERSY TOWARDS LARSON CAMPAIGN-
CONCORD, NH- During last night's debate, Donald Trump made numerous accusations towards Governor Larson of continued ignorance of foreign policy. He stated that the Governors proposals toward Saudi Arabia are " stupid, and would only be done by a complete buffoon". Governor Larson has yet to make a comment, however, this combined with his weak performance at last night's debate is expected to result in a steady drop for him in the polls.

TRUMP WINS NEW HAMPSHIRE, CHRISTIE AND FIORINA DROP OUT-
CONCORD,NH- Donald Trump has successfully won over the voters of New Hampshire yesterday when he won the debate by a staggering 33.9%. In comparison, the runner-up, Ohio Governor John Kasich, won at only 17.0%. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former CEO Carly Fiorina also dropped out of the race, both citing low results in the recent polls.

After a long time of waiting, about an hour, Trump walked up on the stage of the rally. While he headed for the podium, he waved at the crowd as they cheered for him.
He stood at the podium. "Unbelievable, thank you!" he shouted, eliciting cheers from the audience.
Donald Trump started in on his speech, thanking the crowd for attending his rally, while reminding them to vote for him in their primaries. As the hour passed by, he delivered the usual rhetoric to the crowd, bashing Barack Obama and his policies, threatening to sue Ted Cruz, and criticizing Bernie Sanders for his socialistic policy ideas.
Soon, an hour had passed quickly, and Trump knew that the crowd was starting to lose interest in his speech. It was this moment that he decided to bring up the most publicized event of the century, and his opinions and ideas about it.
"So, you all know about that big island of ponies out in the ocean, right?" he asked rhetorically, bringing another cheer from the crowd. "Well, I have thought for a while about it, and here are my ideas on our relationship with them, Equestria."
"This is pretty much the whole of it, the biggest chunk of it: economic policy. We all know that NAFTA has allowed Mexico to screw up our economy pretty hardcore. If I am elected president, I will make sure to take Mexico away from all our trade agreements. In its place, Equestria will become a major trading partner. We have no debt to them, and they are a backwards country in terms of industry, so they can give us their untapped oil reserves that could also reduce our reliance on Middle Eastern oil. What they get in return is assistance in a nationwide modernization project for them. Since diplomatic relations are most likely going to be finalized this year, all I need to do is talk to them, and they would like it, you would like it, and it will benefit America in the long run."
The crowd was ecstatic. People cheered loudly now, and Trump decided to let his proposal finish the rally. He spoke a few parting words to the people, and them stepped off the stage, past a curtain, where Corey met him just offstage.
" Donald, you were amazing!" he said excitedly.
Trump walked past him, but he looked over his shoulder, and stated, "I know."

Twilight Sparkle walked into the throne room. Princesses Celestia and Luna were sitting on their thrones, having received the message from Spike earlier that morning. When Twilight finally walked close to Celestia's throne, the regal mare stood up and addressed her.
"Hello, my faithful former student, what brings you here today?' the Princess of the Day asked.
Twilight gestured to a group of humans, who were busy setting up a large television which was blaring what she had gathered was called CNN International. " I finished watching a speech that had been aired from the democratic superpower known as the United States of America, and I wish to speak about it with you, as well as other pressing issues."
Celestia glanced at her new television, which was airing news about the American presidential elections, giving particular attention to the blond-haired billionaire running for their president.
"I assume you speak of their popular nominee, Donald Trump? We have seen it as well." Celestia gestured to Luna, who nodded as she started to speak, " We will not pretend to understand the forms of government of the humans, but it certainly appears that this country is going through some sort of process to replace their prince, if I am not mistaken."
Twilight started in, " Well, this person says he wants to start a close relationship with Equestria, and we give them our oil, which the humans say can be found in deposits deep underground, in exchange for normalizing our status on this new planet. Oh, and Princess Luna, the term for their head of state is president ."
Luna watched the television again, which was repeating some of the words of Donald Trump's speech. " The idea intrigues me, sister, but this person has shown himself to be quite egotistical. Do you think he would be a good person to trade with in the next few years?" she asked Celestia.
