Love with a Bit of Sparkles
Damn my Hesitance and these Circumstances
Previous Chapter"Are those apples clean yet Powerjack?"
"Yes AJ," I said as I put down the particularly enthralling novel that I had engaged myself in after completing my monotonous but necessary (what is an apple themed feast without plain old apples) task. With a wave of my hand and a glow of cyan I proceeded to levitate it back to the shelf I had plucked it from. Applejack crossed her arms, a smirk adorning her face.
"Well now yer just showin' off."
"Says the girl that Ah've seen shake trees with kicks that could brake bones on a daily basis," I said with the shrug of the shoulders.
"Point taken; come on, I need someone to set the table."
"I'm on it." I walked through our normally quiet house, which was filled with activity, the noises of kitchen utensils, and the aromas of the legendary Apple Family cooking. As I approached the door to go outside, I saw my little sister, Applebloom, carrying several trays on her head. "Is that the silverware?"
"Mmhm." She nodded, then almost tripped over, only to be saved by a telekinesis spell. I then levitated the trays to avoid further catastrophe.
"I'll take those off your hands."
"Thanks bro." And with that, she ran off to pester someone until she got another task. I shook my head in amusement, and stepped through the doorway. I set the trays down by the dining table, then started doing the breathing exercises that were so popular in Neighsia. I would need to focus for this bit of magic. After a final deep breath, I waved my hands and lifted all of the knives, spoons, and forks from the trays. All several hundred of them. I began the delicate procedure of setting the plethora of tableware, when suddenly...
"Impressive."
"Huh?" I turned around and then heard the sound of the silverware come crashing down. I didn't care because what greeted me when I turned around was the most beautiful person I had seen in my entire life. I don't know how else to describe what had grassed my eyes; she was just the embodiment of beauty. I found myself lost into those deep purple eyes.
"I am so sorry, here let me help." She lifted her hands, which in turn started to glow violet.
"What uh," I shook my head, plunging back into reality, noticing the blood that had made an exodus to my face. "It's all right; no I get it sorted.... out...." She was done by the time I looked back at the table. A terse "Thanks" was all I could say for I was rather flustered. She brushed away some of her dark purple hair that had made it's way to her face while she was performing the spell, revealing a pointed ear confirming my suspicions. I swallowed my nervousness and attempted to start a conversation. "So, your an Elf too? Not too many of those in Ponyville."
"Yah, I'm from Canterlot. I am supposed to see a girl by the name of AppleJack."
"Oh, uh, yah. She should be inside. I'll go get her." And with that, I launched my full-scale, red-faced retreat.

My eyes flickered open. That had to be the eighth time I had that dream. My thoughts had been plagued with her for the past month. I just couldn't muster the courage to do anything about my feelings for her. Thanks to my elder sister a close friend of her's, I had plenty of opportunities to contact her, it's just I'm a coward when it comes to matters as delicate as courtship. My hopes for ending up with her had dwindled quite significantly when I had found out she was Twilight Sparkle, the prodigy of Princess Celestia, then all but disappeared when I found out she was one of the legendary Elements of Harmony.
"Sigh." Better get ready for that meteor shower. Luna had scheduled one as sort of an apology for threatening to make an everlasting night. I levitated my telescope and notepad to me. Petty personal matters can wait; nothing gets in the way of science!
Thanks for reading! Sorry about the shortness, I'm really bad at lengthening stories, or rather anything, I write.
