Chapter 2: Recovery (Re-Edited)

I hear nothing, only the sound that you sometimes listen as your eardrums go blank when everything is silent. My eyes are still closed and unconscious, until something spoke to me.

“You have done well protecting her in the forest. You may lack the skills in fighting, but, in this new land you will become stronger. As you spend more time in this land, you will adapt and hone new abilities for you to protect this land that you will now call home. And for my final gift, I grant you a piece of my power as you become as: The Defender of Friendship. As you protect them, they will protect you in return. I will speak to you again soon,…” The voice from my recent dream spoke to me again, saying about the new land and protecting it.

As I began to wake, I opened my blurry eyes and see hardly anything. I rubbed them to help me see and found myself in a bright white room. I was on a bed that felt really uncomfortable for my legs half way, and notice I have been bandaged up on my shoulder and leg. I guess I happened to be in a hospital, and I remember what happened during my time in the forest, I guess I was brought in while I was out.

“Oh! You're awake!” said the being on my left who turned out to be a, white coated pony. I was surprised, seeing that this is all not a dream, yet here I am, in an unknown world full of beings that looked like they jumped right out of your television screen. This pony that spoke to me has light-pink mane tied to a bun on her head, wearing a nurse hat, and has a mark on her rump of a red cross with four little hearts pointing inward on each corner, “You were brought in while unconscious and had pretty bad gashes on your left shoulder and right leg. We successfully treated them and nothing major had happened during the process. You will be good as new in the time being.” She spoke to me with a warm smile like she doesn't mind of what I am.

“Umm… Thank you… Nurse?” I didn't know what else to say to a talking nurse pony.

“Oh. I apologies. My name is Nurse Redheart, I am your Nurse for the day. And what's your name?” Nurse Redheart? That's an odd name, but it is suitable for her.

“It’s Jyro.” I said cautiously as she smiled, “Uhh Nurse? Are you… not freaked out that… I am a different being?” She tilt her head one side and answer, but, not sure if she will start asking questions about what I am, or where I come from.

“I am eager to ask you the same questions Jyro, but, there is a group of ponies that are willing to meet and ask you THOSE kind of questions. I will get an overview when they are done asking you.” She handed… or hoofed me a bowl of (what it looks like) vegetable soup. “I hope you will enjoy the the soup! I'll get the girls in a couple minutes. Be right back.”

As she is about to exit the door I quickly said, “Wait!” she stopped, “...Thank you. For taking care of me.” She nod with a warm smile and left the room.

I stare at the bowl she gave me, wondering what it tastes like. Even so, the food from ponies, and I hope its good and edible to eat. As I took a sip, I let the flavor flush in my mouth, the swallow, and pause. “This… is… good!” I don't know how they did it, but, the soup is delicious! I thought tomato soup would have a better taste. But, this soup tastes so natural and the veggies are both sweet and a little bit of salt that is freshly hand made! ...or hoof?...I don't know. I'll tell her 'It was delicious' when she gets back.

*Nurse Redheart POV*

Never in my life that I would be the one taking care, an unknown creature, right here in this hospital! The nurse before me fainted just by looking at him all scarred up and bloody, but, I took charge now. I have never been this excited, yet afraid at the same time. I have heard ponies talk about some sci-fi fantasy that, a creature from another world or from outer space, comes down and starts to invade or destroy the world. Hopefully, they are just stories. This creature is very different from what I've heard, he saved Twilight, fought a small pack of Timberwolves by himself, and he thanked me for just taking care of him. I hardly done anything, besides the soup I made for him, and the recent nurse passed out just seeing how badly beat up he was. Yet, he doesn't seem like an invader or a world destroyer, he's just a friendly visitor. I better go and tell the girls that he is awake, wouldn't want for him to wait long.

*Jyro POV*

After I finished my soup, Nurse Redheart came back in.

“Hello. How's the soup?” She said taking the empty bowl.

“It was good! I really enjoyed it.” I said with a smile.

“Really? I made it myself you know. I didn't think you would really like it since you're new here.” Her eyes darted away from me and... blushing?

“Oh! Well I appreciate your work Nurse, thank you.” as I said that, she smiled happily.

“Your welcome! Anyway, I brought the girls to see how you're doing and ask you serious questions if you don't mind.” That struck me there, are the questions that serious?

“Oh… ok. You can let them in.” I feel nervous thinking that these ponies are the government or C.I.A. crap to deal with.

“Alright. But first, how are your wounds? Do you still feel pain?” She asked.

“Umm… no. Not really.” I give my bandages a rub and tap, but no pain?

“Oh? That's odd." she muttered, "Let me just check you real quick just to make sure.” As she pulled off the cover I saw myself wearing a hospital gown. How come I didn't notice this at the beginning!?

“Uh Nurse!” She stopped. “Where are my clothes? And, how long was I out?” I asked.

“Well first, Rarity took the liberty to fix your clothes and made you this gown. She is one of the ponies you will meet. Next, you were here for a day. But now, you seem oddly to be in shape and leave now.” A whole day!? So this is not a dream at all. Could that dream I have be true? Plus, that pony she mentioned, shes one of the group? Hopefully they won't be too bad right?

As she proceeded unwrapping the bandages on my leg, all of the sudden.

"*GASP*"

“What! What is it Nurse?” I shot up when her gasp startled me.

“Your wounds… they healed!” She said looking at my wounds, shocked.

“HUH!?” I checked my leg and see only small blood stains and left with three large scars as the entire stitches dangle on the dark crimson bandage. I took off the bandage on my shoulder and see if it is the same result. And it is. Except, there are two scars, “Huh. That's new...” I said calmly not in a mood to panic. “This never happened to me before. Like, ever!”

“Well, it would seem so, and you might leave the hospital early if the doctor says it is okay. But, that is very strange...” After that, she cleaned me up a little then head to the door. "Now, are you ready to meet them?" I nodded, "Okay. Come in girls, he's ready." She opened the door letting in... six colorful ponies?

Ok forget what I said about government or C.I.A. ponies, they don't look THAT serious! What surprised me, is that I get to see the same purple unicorn again. As they all walked in, they are a colorful bunch. I forgot to mention! My eyes hardly see details on any objects or things. Everything is cartoonish, but, 2.5D interactive kind. Like, Unreal Engine, if you know what I'm talking about. It looks like I'm in a kids cartoon show, but, with some violent parts since I fought the timberwolves. I wonder what they will say or... do to me.
