Chapter2: The Feeling Of Butterflys.

Evening wakes up to the light of the sun shinning on his face. He walks down the stairs and slowly pas his mother to the basement. When he made it to the back room where all the boxes are. He moves some boxes to find the one he wanted. It is labeled 'Father'. He opens the box and finds all the things in the box that reminds him of his father. When he made it to the bottom of the box he finds something that he does not remember placing in the box. It looked like a handle with a shiny sheet of metal he looked at it for a few minuets. He found a latch like thing on the bottom. When he pulls it, the handle split down the middle. He held one of the sides as the other went down.

The shinny metal thing in the middle was a blade. He didn't know it was, but he liked it. Evening messed around with it for a few minuets. When he finished for now he took the knife to his mother. He placed all of the stuff back into the box and started to head up stairs. Evening walked over to his mother with the knife. he found in the box, "Hey mom, what is this?" he asked holding, "That looks like your fathers butterfly knife." Monica told Evening, "How did you find it?" she asked. Evening just looks down at the knife, "It was at the bottom of the box of dad's stuff and i found it. I started to play around with it and it was fun. I didn't know what it was, so I wanted to know what it was." Evening told his mother as she messed around with it." Monica smiles, "He loved his butterfly knives. He had a nice collection of them." She said looking at the knife, "He even named a few of his favorite ones." she added looking at him. They talk more about the butterfly knives.

A few hours later it starts to get dark. Monica stands up and says, "Well it is getting late. I think i'm going to go to bed." she tells Evening with a yawn, "Okay mom, good night." he replies, "Don't stay up to late. Get some sleep." she adds. Evening replies with a nod. They head up to their rooms. Evening takes the butterfly knife with him. He places the knife on the table next to his bed and fell asleep. When he wakes up from the light of the sun shine wakes him up. He stands up and stretches. When he looks outside to the sun he can tell he woke up earlier then normal. Evening didn't know what to do. He decided to go off and play with the butterfly knife at the park. Evening went to a spot where no pony can see him so he can try to teach himself about the butterfly knife. After about an hour of messing around with the knife, he hears some pony walks up behind him.

When he looked behind him, he sees Lindsey, "Hey Lindsey, how did you find me?" he asked, "It's not hard to know where you go." she replied, We've been friends for years." she adds. Evening smile, "That is true," he said holding the knife, "So what brings you here?" he asked looking at her. She blush a little and looked around, "Well I was just walking around and wanted to see what you were up to." she tells Evening as she tries to look away. He smiles, "So where did you get that butterfly knife from?" Lindsey asked looking at it, "Well I found it looking though my dads box." Evening said looking down at the knife, "For some reason I feel closer to my dad when I use it," Evening told Lindsey as he looks back down at the blade. Lindsey walked next to him and put her hoof around Evenings shoulder, "You really miss him don't you." she asked as Evening nods his head.

"I really do miss him." Evening told Lindsey as he looks into her white eyes. They looked into each others eyes as Lindsey broke it quietness, "Want to talk about him or are you okay?" she asked in a soft tone. Evening starts to grow teary eye, "Well I don't remember much of him." he said as they sit down next to each other, "When I was younger all that I can remember is him coming home late at nights and not stay long tine next day." he said looking at the ground where the butterfly knife rested. Lindsey slides her hoof on his back and rubbed his back gently, "What did you guys do when you had time with each other." Lindsey asked, "We always just wrestled around and joked. He always knew how to make me laugh. He made sure that he made me feel safe." Evening continue still teary eyed and paused for a moment. Lindsey tried to think of a way to cheer him up.

Lindsey looked down at the ground at the butterfly knife, "Did your dad show you how to use the knife?" she asked as Evening just shook his head and picked it up, "I just found it and asked my mother what it was. She told me that he had a collocation of them and even named a few." he added as he opens it up, "What have you learned from it so far?" she asked. Evening just took a minuet to reply, "Not much. I'm just toying with it right now." he tells her. They just stood their looking at the knife. Every few minuets Evening would move it side to side bending the light ray around. Sitting next to the Lindsey, Evening didn't know what to say so he looked up at the sun, "My mother should be waking up by now. I should head home. Wanna meet up some other time today?" he asked. Lindsey looked up with him, "Well I was going to go see my uncle today. It is going to take most of the day to get to his house, but tomorrow will be a good time to meet." she said with a smile.

As Evening smiles back at the light brown filly that is smiling back at him, "Then i'll see you where tomorrow about this time?" he asked. She smiles more and nods, "Yes." she replies as they get up. Evening flies off to his home as Lindsey watches him leave. When Evening makes it home, he sees his mother just walking into the kitchen. He thinks of a way to get into his room without his mother knowing so he slowly opens the door and softy walks behind as many things as he can so he wont be seen. When he makes it just about half way up the stairs, "Morning Pooch." Monica said as she is still facing the other way then where he is. Evening looks over to her, "How did you know I was gone?" he asked as he walks over to her, "I'm your mother. I know what you do all the time." she said with a joking smile, "And if you go off somewhere at lease leave a note." she adds looking at him, "I'm sorry mother, I just wanted to go play with my knife and it was a lovely morning to waste sitting in the house." he told her with a smile.

Monica smiles at him, "Well i'm almost done making you breakfast." she tells him. Evening smiles back at her, "Well i'm not hungry for now. Can you save it for later?" he asked walking backwards to the stairs, "Their won't be much left if I eat it all." she reply in a joking way. Evening walks up into his room and looks out the window, 'What should I do today...' he asked himself as he slowly looks down at his knife.
