Discord has returned for a second time, but this time Celestia won't lock him in stone. She will rather kill him and not have to worry about this happening again. Celestia has amassed an army, so has Discord. They have started a war in Equestria which has been going on for several months. The Celestian side isn't looking good. Most of the battles they have fought they lost. They need a turning-point. Mintyfresh and Icefire are the ones to deliver it.
