"Blimey, it's fuggin' cold!" The pale man said. His pointy ears flicked in the blizzard's wind as it raged around them. His green hair was tied back into a ponytail and he wore a white fluffy coat. He reached up with his white gloves and fixed his aviator goggles to keep the wind from blinding him. He pulled up the collar to keep his neck warm.
"Shuddup, Poison Tip. I'm trying to concentrate here." There was the slow sound of a blade being sharpened next to poison, and another pale man sitting on a rock was next to Poison. Like Poison, the man was wearing the same clothes as him, but had a white satchel on the ground next to him. "You were born and raised in the freezing blizzards of Paxenarc. Stop your whining."
"'Scuse the 'ell outta me, Lock Weld. I jus' wanna go back and get a nice cup o' tea." Poison huffed. "I miss my cups o' tea."
Lock was sharpening a large scimitar what was pure white, and tossed his bronze-colored hair out of his face. "We still have another 50 years before we're dismissed from border duty. If you're cold, think warm."
"I'm not cold, you stoopid bloke. I'm bored. 50 years of patrolling the Nightmare-dammed mountains for changelins is wearing me mind. There haven't been any changelin' sightins since the end of the bloody war." Poison snorted.
"Well if you're bored, get unbored. Communicate with the other patrols if you have to. Just leave me and Au'kana to our peace and quiet." He scoffed as continued to clean his blade.
Poison shook his head. "Can't believed yew named your stoopid sword." He touched a finger to his head and concentrated. When a border patrol was assigned, they were all mentally connected through telepathy magic. There were 18 soldiers that guarded the south border of Paxenarc, and there was only one patrol close to their's. "Oi! Brave Will! The 'ell's going on in your area? We've got no changelin's in the past, I dunnu, forty yeas!"
A gruff reply entered his mind. "Same over here. Wild Hunt caught us a rabbit, so that's something. Why d'ya wanna know?"
"Because I'm freesing me bloody ass off and I'm completely bored. I can't wait fro spring when the mountains are wummah. When d'you think we'll be done?"
"Beats the hell out of me, Poison. Why don't you go take a leak or something to change the years and report back to me when something interesting happens - like us getting called back." There was silence after that and Poison kicked at the dirt.
"Fuggin' prick" Poison hissed under his breath and began to stroll away from Lock.
"Whoa whoa whoa," Lock called after him. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Takin' a piss. Not interested to let you see my paenis." Posion shoffled off down the mountain trail. Most of southern Paxenarc laid in a blizzard wasteland, as a result of the ruling of King Sombra some-odd years ago. Since the disappearance, the Crystal Mountains turned into what they are today. Almost nothing survives these wasteland. Poison found a good little rock and unzipped his pants to start whizzing away. Halfway through his bathroom break, he heard shouts down below in the valley. He quickly finished and zipped up his pants, listening to what the shouting was all about
`"Pull forward, men! It's gotta be around here somewhere!" Was all he could hear.
Crouching low, Poison make a quick beeline back to Lock and said, "Oi! Lock! We got some changelins in th' left valley!" Lock instantly sheathed his scimitar and followed Poison. "Make contact with the othah two. We'll need their help to clear 'em out." Lock nodded and focused as they tailed the patrol. It was difficult to see in the storm, but Poison guess that there were about twelve people in the patrol. Moments later, two more men joined them.
"Oi, Wild Hunt," Poison said to a tanned man with dark brown hair and orange eyes. "Rabbit good?"
"Not important, Poison," The other said, a couple strands of his sky blue hair poking out from under his hat. His purple eyes shone in the light, and he looked side to side. "We need to focus on getting rid of them. Any objections on annihilation? The military doesn't have to know if we feed them to the dragons." He smirked as they watched the group slow down.
"Yo, Brave," Wild said the the blue-haired man. "We get the blood, ya?"
Brave pulled out his Khopesh, a steel curved sword for precise cutting. "The blood's all yours. Leave no one standing. I've been fond of changeling blood." He closed his fist, then flattened it out vertically, pointing with all fingers to the patrol.
"Talley ho, Talley ho!" Poison smirked and the four of them leaped high into the air and into the valley. Each of them landed on one of the soldiers, killing them instantly and breaking their fall. The slaughter was quick and painless. The soldiers had hardly any time to react as the four men slaughtered the patrol. One soldier actually parried Poison's steel blade and gritted.
"The hell are you?! We're not here to-!" He was cut clean down as Poison made a slash across his chest.
"Vampires, you stoopid bloke. Cant ye understand that with all the fast movement?"
The slaughtered continue. Screams erupted and blood flew across snow and blades. To some, this was a terrible and merciless massacre, to others, this was art. "I love it when they scream!" Lock Weld roared as he dropped another one.
Brave was the only silent one, until he locked blades with the only woman in the division: a tough lightly tanned woman with silver hair. His Khopesh was locked with her katana, and he looked into her eyes. "Such a fine young woman," He softly said. "And such a deadly weapon. Two blades from opposite ends of the world. I wonder, which will win?"
"Don't want to find out, vampire." She hissed and parried his blade. They fought back and forth as the rest of her squad - a total of four - fought against the other three.
He pushed against her, and she feinted a blow to his left side. She flipped the blade across her knuckles and began her barrage with her left hand. She pushed against him, whaling on him, driving him back. She didn't realize she was the only one left standing out of her twelve-man patrol. That is, until Brave used the inside of his curved blade to pull the katana out of her hands and cast it aside. He flipped it around and sliced it across her chest, cutting her open. She fell into the snow, soaking it with blood, and casting her goggles off of her face. "Now, if you hadn't resisted, you wouldn't bleeding to death." Brave said as he crouched next to her. "You're strong for a changeling."
She lifted her head up and he got to see her face. Blood dripped down in between her slitted eyes and her teeth gritted. "I am from...the Equestrian Alliance..."
He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah right." He scoffed. "Heard a changeling watched that before. Anyways, any last words?"
The woman slowly rose. "Yeah." She coughed blood as she stood. She suddenly raised her hand to the sky and a blue streak of light shot up into the clouds, then went south. The four men tensed as if something was going to happen, but she clutched her chest and her final words came out: "The Sun will hail upon your darkened land."
She died standing, a true vampire warrior of Equestria.
