A Thousand Moons

My heart beats fast, blurring my mind. All the promises you made, faded into colors. You taught me how to be brave, but that didn't help after what had happened to you. I couldn't stop tearing my world apart after I saw you... stand there alone, in a cold, stone prison. It would never leave my mind, I would never leave you. That pain of quilt tied a string to my hooves.

I was always a step away from you.

I said to myself that I would die anyday just so you can be right by my side, everyday. I had doubt you would be gone forever, leaving all your memories behind you. Daddy, I would always love you for a thousand moons and more.

Time flies by, every second, all the time. My mind would scream out 'Your back, your back!' From that day on, you would never stop saying to me 'You hold this beauty in you, it holds a mighty force.' It was great to have you back daddy, I loved causing chaos with you. Then came that time again, to disappear into nothingness.

I had my theories that this time would come around. My greatest fears rising up once more. Your standing in front of me, my heart as cold as your figure. Why did it have to happen again?

I was a step further back this time.

And all the time, everyday I believed that I would find your life again. The stars would bring hope to me, they would tell me that you always believed in me. That I would always love you for a thousand moons and more.

I was always a step away from you. However, I was beginning to become a step closer to you.

You're back to life again. Back by my side, forever this time. You stopped me from falling down that big, black hole of emptiness. Now I can love you for a thousand more moons and eternity.

We can have some more father and daughter times. Enjoying ourselves for this blissful moment. Every day, every month and every year, I could love you for a thousand more moons and eternity.

Just one more thing missing. I didn't know what it was. I didn't know where we could find it. It just dangled there for all of Equestria to see, but banned if from our sights. It boggled my mind whenever I woke, whenever I bathed, whenever I played, whenever I ate and whenever I dreamt.

It was like a tornado ready to destroy a village. An earthquake ready to shock the life out of every pony.

I could feel it creep up behind me, like a lion stalking it's pray. And I was that pray. The sweet, innocent and fragile creature. Easily caught, easily tamed and easily breakable. I never had the chance to truly think about it. As it would just explode like a volcano on the brink of destruction.

It sounds so taboo, I know. But, that is how I actually feel. It was never a myth, just... a legend.

Time ticked by, when finally, it hit me like a train...
