Lightning Dust's Ascent into Alicornhood

It was at that moment of realization that Lightning Dust was going to leave solving this problem 99.99% up to the Sisters. After all, they were the alicorns, and she was (or used to be) just a pegasus.

             Luna walked into the throne room, finding that Celestia had her nose stuck in her magical book (metaphorically, of course).  "Sister," said Luna, "I have sent the letter to Lightning Dust. And how are you doing?"  Celestia replied, not looking up from her book, "I can't really say. I'm still looking into the subject."  "Well, what have you found so far?" "Well," said Celestia, finally looking up from the book, "I have found out that there is a way to reverse this."  Luna's ears perked up.  "How so, dear sister?" asked the alicorn mare. "Well, we're going to have to have Lightning Dust's help." said Celestia. "I will write a letter to Miss Dust at once." And so Luna did. The reply to Luna's letter arrived surprisingly quick.  "Dear Princesses," it began. "With all due respect, I've decided that I would only cause trouble, so I must decline your request.

Very Sorry For the Inconvenience, Lightning Dust ".   Luna daintily rushed into the throne room, where Celestia was researching even further into the subject of what had happened to Miss Dust.  "Sister." said Luna, with a look that screamed 'bad news', "She declined."  "What?!" exclaimed Celestia, in a voice that was still somehow regal and mannerly. "It is true, my sister." said Luna, sadly nodding. "Well, then, get a guard to escort her to the castle." Luna nodded again. "Urgent orders, sister." "I understand. I will notify an escort as soon as I can."  And with that, Luna disappeared in a cascade of dark blue sparkles. Celestia sighed. "That Lightning Dust pony is very stubborn. I suppose I should get back to my research."  And so, Celestia continued research as Luna ordered two guards to escort Lightning Dust to the castle.
