Don't Mess with Fluttershy's Mare

The following morning arrived with excitement from Fluttershy and Starlight. In her cottage Fluttershy was singing to herself as she fixed her breakfast. Her animals asked her why. She replied, "Well uhm, I'm getting married today. I want you all to know that Starlight will be living with us now."

Angel frowned over hearing this. He did not like the idea of another pony living in the cottage and he especially did not like the idea of Fluttershy going to be giving almost all of her love and adoration to this other pony. Fluttershy glared at him and continued, "Look Angel, I love Starlight with all my heart and she will be living with us."

Angel scowled at her squeaking frantically that he did not approve of this but Fluttershy, unlike she used to would have been, she stood firm. "Look Angel, Starlight and I are getting married. She will be living with us and you won't be sleeping in my room anymore."

While this only caused Angel to be more displeased, he knew that with the way Fluttershy was being, that he would not be able to persuade her to not go through with her plans. After eating breakfast she headed over to Twilight's castle so she could have breakfast with them before heading to the town hall.

In the castle Starlight was up early, packing the few things that she had since she would be moving out before the day was over. Twilight headed up to her room to find Starlight singing some sappy song about getting married. Twilight gagged, "Starlight, I know you're excited about getting married but it is time for breakfast."

Starlight replied, "Alright, but if you were in my hooves wouldn't you feel the same way?"

Twilight replied, "I guess. I've never experienced romance before so I couldn't be completely sure."

When they arrived in the dining hall they heard a knock on the door. Twilight went to get it and as soon as she opened it, in rushed Fluttershy. Before Twilight could even say anything Fluttershy and Starlight were kissing passionately. All this romance was getting on Twilight's nerves. She yelled, "Would you two stop it?" The two broke their kiss and Twilight continued, "Look, I know you're happy but it is time for breakfast and passionate kisses should not be on the menu."

Fluttershy replied, "Alright Twilight."

Starlight asked, "So how are we going to do this?"

Twilight replied, "Well we will go over to town hall, you two will fill out the proper paperwork and then the mayor will marry you two."

Fluttershy asked, "Don't we get a big ceremony like Cranky and Matilda did?"

Twilight replied, "Yes, but in light of everything that recently happened, I think you should get married now and then a formal ceremony can be held later."

They both agreed and they sat down to breakfast. While Twilight was eating at a rather leisurely pace, Starlight and Fluttershy were devouring their meal. Once they all had finished their breakfast they headed to the town hall to get married. While Twilight was admittedly irritated that Starlight would not be available at all times for study sessions anymore, she was happy that her student would be happy.

Once they arrived at the town hall they immediately went to the mayor's office. She greeted them, "Hi Twilight, how can I help you today?"

Twilight pointed her wing at Fluttershy and Starlight. She replied, "These two want to get married today."

The mayor gave Fluttershy a smile and said, "Congratulations Fluttershy, I'm so happy for you." She then looked at Starlight and continued, "I mean no disrespect but what is your name?"

Starlight replied, "My name is Starlight Glimmer."

The mayor handed them the paperwork required to get married and they began to fill it out. Luckily for them it was a rather short, simple form. Unlike in the larger cities in Equestria, Ponyville did not require every single little thing about a pony's life to be recorded to get married. Once they finished filling it out they gave the papers to the mayor. She looked them over and asked, "Twilight, are you going to be the witness for these two?"

Twilight replied, "Yes, I will."

The mayor motioned for Fluttershy and Starlight to approach her desk. Given that this basically amounted to going before the justice of the peace, the mayor did not have to do much except do the vows. She asked, "Fluttershy, do you take this mare, Starlight Glimmer, to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to love, cherish and protect her, whether in prosperity or poverty, whether in sickness in health for the rest of your life?"

Fluttershy replied, "I do."

She turned to Starlight and asked, "Starlight Glimmer, do you take this mare, Fluttershy, to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you promise to love, cherish and protect her, whether in prosperity or poverty, whether in sickness in health for the rest of your life?"

Starlight replied, "You bet I do!"

The mayor continued, "By the power invested in me, Mayor Mare of Ponyville, I now pronounce you mare and mare. You two may now kiss."

Fluttershy and Starlight began to kiss passionately. While the mayor was captivated by their loving moment, Twilight could only let out a sigh of disgust. While she was becoming sick and tired of the romance, deep down she was jealous of the two. Deep down she wished that she had a mare she could call her own. As the two broke the kiss and thanked the mayor, she replied, "Now don't have too much fun tonight!"

Both Starlight and Fluttershy blushed, knowing what she was hinting at....the thing that they had been saving themselves for. The three left the town hall and while Fluttershy and Starlight couldn't be happier, Twilight followed them with her head hung low. Starlight noticed this and asked, "Twilight, why so glum?"

Twilight broke down crying, "I'm jealous, I'm very jealous. I can't hide it anymore, I'm jealous of you two. I see how happy you are together and that you'll always have one another and who do I have.....NOPONY! I have nopony there for me. I don't have a mare to spend the rest of my days with, I don't have a mare to love, I don't have a mare to share my life with, I have nothing."

Fluttershy said, "Twilight, I want to tell you something."

Twilight asked, "What is that?"

Fluttershy replied, "I know she told me to not tell anypony but seeing you like this I can't help it. Not too long ago Rarity admitted to me that she has a crush on you and wished you two could be more than friends."

Twilight's ears perked up as she asked, "Really?"

Fluttershy replied, "Really! Now please don't tell........."

Before Fluttershy could even finish her sentence, Twilight headed off towards The Carousel Boutique. Fluttershy screamed, "Twilight, wait!"

It did no good though as Twilight was already well out of earshot. Starlight said, "Well hopefully she won't tell Rarity that you told her." She gave her a kiss and continued, "Well shall we go to the castle, get my stuff and head home? I'm so excited for us to begin our new life together."

Fluttershy replied, "I'm excited for that too."

They headed to the castle, grabbed Starlight's stuff and headed to what is now their cottage. While most of the animals were happy to see Starlight, Angel couldn't help but be mad. He jumped on her back and began stomping and squeaking in anger. While Starlight had no clue what he was saying, it wasn't anything good. Fluttershy yelled, "Angel Bunny, that's no way to talk to my wife!"

She ordered Angel to get off Starlight's back and the two mares headed to what is now their bedroom. Fluttershy closed the door and very soon the animals in the cottage heard noises they had never heard before. They couldn't help but be curious as to what all the squealing, moaning and giggling was all about. With the exception of Angel, all that mattered to them was that Fluttershy was happy.
