Captain Longsword had never been a fan doing construction work or rather surpervising one. As soon as his battalion had been transferred from Stalliongrad to the northern front, all they did was train and build walls for the past 3 days. Captain Longsword was relieved when the great wall was finally finished today. As he stood in the main watch tower, he dubbed it "Invincible" because he thought no one would dare attack this place.Be it griffons or dragons this wall shall remain standing as long as Equestria lives.

"Sir!" yelled a Pegasi guard as he landed in front of him.

"What news do you bring soldier?" asked Longsword.

"The first scouting legion has spotted a Griffon army heading towards us!" exclaimed the private as he looked at his superior.

Longsword's eyes grew wide with fear.He didn't think the Griffons would attack this early, and they haven't even put the cannons and ballistas on the walls yet.

"ALL HOOFS TO ACTION STATIONS!" he yelled as everyone rushed to get up and move to their respective areas.

"MOUNT THE CANNONS AND BALLISTAS ON THE WALLS! NOW!" he yelled, this time soldiers were busy pushing cannons and ballistas and mounting them on the wall to overlook the outer perimeter and provide excellent fire power.

"Sir! The Griffons are gonna arrive in 5 minutes!" exclaimed a scout before waiting for his next order.

"When..." said Longsword before he was cut off by another scout.

"Sir! The enemy is coming in large numbers! And they have these weird looking armored transports!" said another scout before looking at Longsword for orders.

"Join the 7th air cavalry, they will need you" ordered Longsword. And with that the two scouts flew off. Longsword sighed as he knew that good stallions will die today.

"No matter, they wont break this wall no matter what" thought Longsword as he resumed commanding his troops into a defensive position.

"Sir the Griffon army is already at the borders" said an officer before returning to his post.

Longsword picked up a nearby binoculars with his magic and scanned the horizon. Sure enough the Griffons are all amassed and standing at the ready. The Griffons had land and air support. Longsword scanned the troops and noticed something odd.The land Griffons all held some sort of weird metal black stick. Longsword thought of them as clubs, he turned his attention to the armored wagons only this time fear was in his body as the armored wagons had cannons and could kill anything without it worrying about getting hit. As for the air force, the Pegasi could handle them since they were trained at doing extreme combat in the air. As he continued to scan the Griffon army, he tried to form some sort of plan in his head to end this battle decisively. He opted for playing defense the whole time but it would be risky. Then Longsword thought of a flanking attack. He would order four company's to sneak behind the enemy while the battle was raging on, and they would surprise them from the rear encircling their forces and ending the battle in one swift stroke. Seeing that as the best possible option at hand, Longsword reluctantly agreed to his own idea and gathered the company's he would send out.

"1st Company 5th Company 9th Company and 17th Company report to me!" he bellowed through the speakers. Within minutes the 4 Companies were present in the courtyard ready for debriefing.

"Alright listen up!" he yelled,"you all are going to be part of a special attack force, you are to be given the job of flanking our enemies while we engage and distract them long enough for you to get around them. Your job is too sneak by unoticed and attack when the enemy least expects it. Its as simple as that, just follow your leaders an we will end this battle in one swift victory!"

"HOOORAHHHH" cheered the stallions as they began readying their weapons and moving to the secret route.

"Sir! A Griffon has sent a letter regarding the battle" said and officer.

"Let me read it" motioned Longsword as the letter was given to him.

"Dear Worthless Ponies

I am Captain Ironclaw of the Mighty Griffon army and I hereby propose an offering. If you surrender now, then none of your soldiers will be harmed and they will be treated fairly. But if you choose to refuse, then you shall feel the wrath of the Mighty Griffon Empire. If you wish to surrender, send a lone stallion to meet my negotiator and we shall discuss the terms, but if you decide to go down fighting, then I shall be happy to wait for you to begin your first move.

-Yours truly Captain Ironclaw"

Longsword folded the letter with an angry look and threw it away.

"How could they be so dumb? Trying to challenge us? The Equestrians, whose rulers raise the sun and moon? Are they mad?" he thought before opening the door to the war room. Inside was a variety of officers doing their work relaying messages and drawing out enemy positions, as soon as Longsword entered they all stood to attention.

"At ease" he said as they went back to their work.

"Sir what are we going to do?" asked a young stallion.

"Were gonna hold this place to our last breath! Whatever the enemy may do, we must prevail and stand strong to defend the land we love" replied Longsword, turning back to look at the map.

"Where is the flanking squad?" asked Longsword to a nearby officer.

"They have begun flanking the enemy sir, word has it they are already half way there" said the officer.

"Good" replied Longsword.

Not a moment after Longsword said those words a loud explosion erupted overhead, shaking the underground war room.

"ALL HOOFS PREPARE FOR BATTLE!" yelled Longsword as he put on his armor and sword, then charged out the door.

When Longsword rushed out of the cave he was met with dead bodies everywhere. There were stallions lying on the floor with their guts hanging out or their heads just rolling around the place. As Longsword made his way up the ladder and onto the wall, he saw the Griffon land forces approaching quickly. He then gave the order.

"EVERYPONY HOLD YOUR GROUND AND REPEL THE ENEMY!" he bellowed through the speaker. He then picked up a crossbow and fired it into a oncoming Griffon, who then screamed in pain and died from the powerful arrow.

As the remaining soldiers scrambled to man the wall cannons and ballistas a cannon squad on the far side of the wall was hit by a Griffon tank shell, which tore a hole in the wall and killed all stallions within the small blast radius. As Captain Longsword made his way down to the forward assault group he counted at least 500 hundred stallions joining him in his forward charge to stall the Griffons long enough for the flanking squad to approach from behind and deal the final blow. As the heavy gates opened he was met with explosions all around the area but Longsword did not falter as he defiantly raised his sword and charged towards the Griffons with a loud battle cry. As soon as he charged ,the rest of his assault group valiantly followed him, ready to attack the invaders.

Captain Ironclaw looked through the binoculars and smirked at the oncoming assault group. He made sure his forward attack troops were armed with the latest guns from the Minotaurs, and made sure they were all tested and ready to wreak havoc on their enemies. As the oncoming group of ponies became larger and larger every second Ironclaw waited for the right moment to unleash their new secret weapon.

"Wait for it....Wait for it... Wait for it........NOW!" yelled Ironclaw. As soon as the order was given the assault group opened fire at the incoming ponies resulting in a full-on massacre of the first line of ponies.

As Longswords defenders got closer he could feel the taste of blood in the air.As soon as he crossed the border line he was met with thunderous pops as he saw his first line mowed down by the Griffons black clubs. Thinking quickly he dived for the nearest cover as a spray of dust erupted from where he was last standing. He sighed in relief but looked at the dead bodies. He counted more than fifty good stallions had been lost today.

Kessler was busy doing his morning ritual from running to push ups to curl ups and the usual sprint, dodge and stealth maneuvers. As he picked up his coat he heard an explosion in the distance, he looked around and saw smoke coming from the other side of the Mountain.

"Scheiße!" he thought as he ran to the ladder and began climbing his way up to the top.

"What is going on?!" asked Kessler as he made his way to the chair.

"There seems to be a battle between the ponies and bird like creatures on the other side of the mountain" the Monitor replied.

"Wait.....What?.....ponies vs bird-like what?...." said Kessler as he began rubbing his forehead.

"I think they're Griffons sir" it replied.

"Griffons?!" exclaimed Kessler as he rubbed his forehead,"since when did.. Oh wait that bug bitch mentioned Griffons during her pleading bullshit"

"Correct sir, What is our next course of action sir?" asked the Monitor.

"Prepare for battle!" commanded Kessler as the Monitor began powering up its rocket pods and laser cannon.

"Alright lets pay these ponies and Griffons a visit" he said.

"Roger" replied the Monitor as it began walking forward.

Captain Longsword had been ducking and weaving through the battlefield for the past 10 minutes and he had already lost nearly all his men. Only a handful of brave stallions were left, the rest were all killed to these strange new weapons called guns. As Longsword peeked out from his cover he quickly popped back down as a hail of bullets flew over him, he loaded another arrow into his crossbow and popped up again in front of the Griffon MG nest. He fired and the arrow flew true and straight towards its target and hit a Griffon square on, sending the machine gunner flying back. Longsword and his troops moved forward and were soon met with Griffons holding swords when they exited their dug out trench. Instantly Longsword and his men engaged in close quarters combat, Longsword parried the first blow and swung his sword at his opponent but missed. He then raised his sword again and blocked the next two blows. He quickly ducked and swiped at the Griffons legs ,cutting his opponents leg off and finishing him with a blow to the chest. Longsword then attacked his next opponent but was stopped in his tracks when he heard loud thundering footsteps coming from the distance. He looked around and saw no gunfire or explosions happening, instead his men and Griffons were looking at the mountain to the left. Longsword turned around to see what all the commotion was all about, Longswords jaw dropped open when he saw the sight of a towering behemoth that seemed to clad in iron all over.Longsword couldn't believe his eyes, he blinked several time but still the towering behemoth was heading straight towards them, the behemoth seemed to walk on three legs and had a complex upper body.It had a circular eye in the middle and boxes hanging on the outer edges.

As the behemoth got closer to Longswords position it seemed to grow bigger with every step. The steps the behemoth took seemed to shake the ground with every step. Stallions and Griffons lost their footing now and then whenever one of the Behemoths feet made contact with the ground.

"Alright lets just cross that wall and we'll be on our merry way" said Kessler as he watched the screens observing the ponies.

"Roger" replied the Monitor.

As Longsword watched, the behemoth turned and walked towards the wall.He feared that it was a enemy, but seeing as the Griffons had no idea what it was, Longsword assumed it was some sort of mindless beast.

"Well no resistance which means that they're non-hostile" said Kessler. As soon as Kessler said that an explosion was heard outside the Monitor.
