Rainbow Suppressed
A True Friend's Kiss
Load Full StoryNext ChapterAll friends give something to each other. For Rainbow Dash, there was nothing to give anymore. There was nothing to live for. Her friends had turned her down. Her home had gotten evicted twice. Now, she was broke. All she had with her was her depression.
Everything for Rainbow was certainly miserable. Despite her efforts, she always left the real estate without a house to buy. She lived in an alley, thankfully, with trash cans full of wasted food that was still edible. Rainbow Dash had forgotten the last time she took a shower. She smelled of dog feces. The cyan coat on her was now an ugly, dull grey. Her cutie mark was barely visible with all of the dirt and grime that had piled up. Her mane was extremely greasy and frizzy.
Rainbow Dash had a dream for the first time in months. It was a flash back of Twilight kicking her out of the Ponyville Library. "If you come back here without at least brushing your mane, you are never coming back!" was the last statement that she ever heard her egghead friend say.
Pinkie Pie seemed to be her only friend at all...
Rainbow was searching through her trash can in hopes to find food. She brushed her hoof against something harder than the rest of the garbage. She dug deeper into the can and found a bottle, almost halfway full of pills. Rainbow wondered why some pony would throw away such a thing. Her instincts told her that they were ADHD pills, as Pinkie Pie took one or two of these every night and every morning.
An idea sprang into the pale grey pegasus' head. She could, if her old friends would appreciate it... Pinkie certainly wouldn't, but every pony else will. If she could find a glass of water lying around somewhere, she could take a great deal of these. She would die for sure, but she wanted to do this.
She dug more. Her rainbow/brown mane rubbed against every piece she came across. Rainbow Dash found an empty root beer bottle. Catching glimpse of it, she held it up, then grinned mischievously. All Dash had to do was find the water well. Then, she could begin the process of suicide.

Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle were headed toward the alley that Rainbow lived in. "Rainbow?", Pinkie called. "Rainbow, are you there?"
No answer.
"Rainbow?"
Still no answer.
Twilight finally spoke up. "Rainbow Dash, this isn't funny! Come on out!"
"I don't think she's here, Twilight."
"No, REALLY?"

Rainbow flew towards the well. The bottle was sitting in her hoof. Rainbow saw the well in the distance, so she landed and slowed to a trot. As soon as she reached the "water hole" as other ponies called it, Rainbow Dash stopped and started to lower the bucket when she caught notice of the rope that was holding it. She beamed at the new idea and started to untie the rope to detach it. Then again, she could jump into the well, but that would ruin Ponyville's water supply for sure.
When finished untying the rope, Rainbow had a new idea. She would need another glass. She placed the glass root beer bottle on the ground. Rainbow slammed her hoof into it and picked up the biggest shard. This would be perfect.
She started back towards her alley. There was dangerous stuff all around town! Maybe if she searched, she would find plenty of options to take back to her can!
As soon as the alley was in sight to Rainbow Dash, Pinkie and Twilight trotted out. Rainbow dove behind a nearby bush before they could see her. "I was just gonna ask her if she was doing okay," she heard Pinkie say.
Twilight added, "I was going to pay her a visit to tell her I'm sorry for kicking her out and that she could come back if she would like."
Rainbow jumped out of the bush. She hollered after them. "Hey, girls! How goes it?"
Twilight and Pinkie turned around and gasped happily. They ran toward her, but stopped dead in their tracks, eyeing the various things on Rainbow's back. Pinkie spoke first. "What's all that? Is it a device that you're making?"
Rainbow gulped. "You could say...", she replied, scratching her dirty mane.
The purple alicorn raised an eyebrow. "Rainbow Dash, is there something bothering you?", she inquired.
The pegasus began to sweat. Twilight knew that she was telling a lie about the objects and how Rainbow was going to use them. "Well... Yes," Rainbow finally uttered before hanging her head in shame.
"Well, would you care to tell us?", the purple princess asked her grubby friend.
Rainbow had now let tears freely flow down her cheeks. "Twilight, don't you see?! I'm carrying a rope, a glass shard, and a PILL BOTTLE!!!! Don't you get it?! I'm committing suicide!!!"
Twilight's pupils had shrunk to the size of peas. Her hoof was covering her mouth and tears began to well up in her eyes. Pinkie was already sobbing, letting her hiccuping screams fill the streets of Ponyville. The pink party pony shrieked a few words to her broke friend. "Why?! Why?! Why would you ever do this to me?! I'm your bestest friend in the whole wide world!" She once again started to shriek inaudible words.
Offended, Rainbow Dash lashed out at the sobbing Pinkie Pie. "Well, I'm sorry that YOU never noticed! I know you love me more than anything, but this is for ME. Understand?"
Pinkie lunged forward on top of Rainbow Dash and planted a kiss on her cheek. "I want you to stay!", Pinkie said before sniffling.
Rainbow began to blush profusely. She then began to relax. Rainbow leaned up and kissed Pinkie back, but on the forehead. "I know, but I can't take much more of this."
To define the love she had for her, Pinkie planted one long kiss onto Rainbow's lips. The pegasus' eyes widened. "What did you do that for?!"
Pinkie rolled her eyes. "You know the old saying?", she asked before she said a line that she actually made up herself. She spoke softly, "'Give every pony super duper close to you a big hug, and maybe something more.'"
