Trying Hard to Help

Pinkie Pie wiped a tear from her eye. Twilight tried to break the two mares apart, but failed at her attempt. "Well, if you're going to be swapping your saliva, shouldn't you two be doing it somewhere else more private?", the princess asked as she waved her hoof to a crowd of ponies that had gathered around.

Rainbow caught glimpse of the stallions as they snickered. They all did. She blushed, trying to push off the fluffy pink pony. "Pinkie," the pegasus whispered. "Would you mind getting off of me?"

Pinkie yelled at the crowd. "Hey! Go away and mind your own beeswax!"

Now, Rainbow Dash was suffocating under the party pony's weight. Pinkie finally got off of Rainbow's stomach and started charging toward the alley. "Rainbow Dash!", Pinkie yelled to the pegasus. "In here!"

Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow, but followed suit. She flew as fast as she could into a dumpster. Pinkie did the same. They both ended up in the same dumpster. Pinkie eyed Rainbow expectantly. "So, what do we do now?", the curly-maned pony asked.

Slipping a smirk on her face, Rainbow Dash got an idea. "We could continue," she offered, "I do love the taste of cupcakes."

With that, Rainbow grabbed her marefriend's pink fur coat, leaned over, and kissed her passionately. The party pony closed her eyes. She wrapped her arms around her Little Dashie.

Scootaloo had been in her room, waiting for her mother to come home. She was drawing a picture of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. In the picture, they had their front hooves wrapped around one another. Pinkie Pie was wearing a wedding gown when Rainbow Dash was wearing a simple white bow tie around her neck.

Scootaloo's father opened the door to her bedroom and sighed. "I miss my sweet little foal. Too bad she's all grown up," he muttered in a voice of pride.

Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "Dad, I'm still a filly," she reminded him.

A pained look flooded her father's face. "Yet, it seems like only yesterday I was taking you home from the hospital."

The orange and purple filly went back to coloring her drawing. She looked up again to see her father, Lightning Road, leaving the room.

Applejack had gotten tired and began to trot toward her bed. Suddenly, the telephone rang. The orange earth pony answered, but no pony spoke. She guessed that whoever was on the other end was waiting for her to speak, so she started to speak. "Hello? Is some pony there?"

Left without an answer, she hung up. "Strange ponies these days...", Applejack uttered to herself.

Apple Bloom stood in the middle of the clubhouse the next morning, waiting for the other crusaders to come. This morning was the day that they would finally get their cutie marks. She always said that, but this time, she was serious. She could feel her bones shaking with every step she took, which is like when you're up in the middle of the night, trying to get to the bathroom.

The wooden door to the treehouse finally opened, revealing a distressed Scootaloo. "I'm sorry Apple Bloom. I have to see Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie said so, and with her, it's always serious," Scootaloo muttered as she pulled out a piece of parchment.

Apple Bloom nodded her head. "I understand, Scoots."

Scootaloo began to turn around and leave. She had been on her scooter, so she exited the clubhouse very quickly.

Apple Bloom sighed. Well, at least Sweetie Belle would be able to join her.

Sweetie Belle appeared at the doorway, like Scootaloo, with a worried expression on her face. "Apple Bloom, I can't make it this time. I have to help my sister make dresses."

Apple Bloom groaned. Would she be the only one crusading today? "Okay," the young earth pony sighed.

The white unicorn trotted out of the doorway. She looked back at her friend and sighed. She felt sorry for Apple Bloom. She was the only one going to get her cutie mark today.

Rainbow Dash woke with a start. She glanced over toward the other side of the alley. Pinkie was laying there, fast asleep. Now was her chance. The rainbow-maned pegasus hastily jumped out of the dumpster. She slowly crept to the smaller trash can, where she hid the items that she found this morning.

Rainbow's wing grabbed the rope and she grabbed it out with her hoof. She then flew to the top of the roof and tied it to a rusty nail that was sticking itself. Flying back down to the other end, Rainbow tied it into a loop. She found an empty water bottle earlier and had filled it with water. The other items were ready.

Rainbow Dash flew back to the small can and popped open the lid. She grabbed the water bottle and pills. Her wing pushed down on the lid and turned it. It opened. She set it down and opened the water bottle. Rainbow Dash dumped the pills into her hoof and piled them into her mouth, taking a humongous gulp of water in the process.

Scootaloo had already visited Rainbow Dash and knows about her being suicidal. She cried herself to sleep that night, wondering if Rainbow really would commit suicide. All that the little filly was learning from this situation was way too much for a little filly to handle. Scootaloo was Rainbow's number one fan! How could she do this?

She and Pinkie tried really hard to help her, to reassure her, but despite their efforts, none of that worked.
