Keen Foresight (Doug_'s OC)

(I do not think Doug_ has a pic of Keen Foresight, so I'm going to tell you that he is tiny. He has a plain tan coat, dark brown mane, and green eyes. Earth Pony)

3rd P.O.V.

"Mother?? Mother? Mom? BEARER OF ME!" 8 years old, Keen Foresight had come back to his home after working on the farm. He managed to steal some bread for his mother to eat, she had been so weak! But now, his mother laid on the ground, cold and hungry. He dropped the bread and nudged her to a hay pile, that luckily hadn't rotted yet. He made a note to go gather some more later on. Piece by piece, he fed his mother the bread until it was gone. A knock on the door alerted Foresight, and he slowly got up and opened the door, revealing a smiling Wood Craft, holding a bundle of bread. Foresight groaned and knocked his head on the wall, realizing that he didn't need to steal that bread.

"Come in, Wood Craft." His friend trotted into the house and put the bundle on the pathetically small table.

"How are you, Wood Craft?" Tender Love slowly got up, flinching as she heard her bone crack. Walking over to the cupboards, she got out a cup and filled it with water, offering it to Craft. He dipped his head in thanks and took the cup, guzzling the water down. "Thank you, Tender." Smiling, Foresight nudged his friend.

"And to think you're the rebel in the fields!"

2 years later...

Keen Foresight's P.O.V.

That feeling was calling for me again. I couldn't ignore it, but I had to... For Mother. She needs someone to support her. I inhaled the fresh country air and continued to water the plants in my part of the field. Another tugging from my heart. The urge to... leave. Tensing up, I controlled my body, willing it to stay put. But it just didn't feel right.

I finished paying the vendor and scooped the fruits in my bag. I thanked Faust that my little shack was near the market, and galloped the rest of the way back.

"Mother! I have your food." She clopped over, smiling at the sight of the shining apples. Looking away, I glanced at the table. I shook my head, but slowly walked over. 3... 2... 1...

"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Craft popped out from behind the table, like every other year. And there was a cake on the table... I looked at Craft in shock. How did he get a cake? They cost so much in Equestria! Glaring at him, I wait until he breaks.

"I saved some bits every month for the cake... Now eat it! I spent a LONG time working for it!" Smiling, I waited for Mother to take a slice first, then I took my own, savoring the last taste of sweetness I would ever eat. Gulping down the last bit of cake, I smiled and laughed nervously.

"Um... I wanted to tell you two something." Craft, who was licking the plate clean, rolled his eyes and grinned at me.

"What is it now? Our food's going to rot? Stocks are going to go up?" Tender Love chuckled at his jeers, and smiled at me. "So? What is it?"

I gulped and took a deep breath. "I want to leave." Craft and Mother stared at me. Then he started to laugh.

"Leave? On your 10th birthday? Foresight, c'mon you wouldn't-" He paused and looked at my face. Looking down, I repeated myself. "I want to leave. There's been this... feeling. It's pulling me towards a different part of Equestria, and I HAVE to follow it. Please!" I looked at them pleadingly. Mother sighed.

"I told Fruit Stock that you were special. And I was right. She went to her bed and pulled out a knapsack. "This has enough food and water for a month, IF you ration it well. And I know you will. There are some bits if you need them. You need to go. And don't worry. You will find it." I smiled at her and looked at Craft. He smiled and pushed me towards the door. I walked into the blizzard, where it would take me where to go.

I was currently reading a scroll I found while walking, and I started to smell something burning. Hm. Someone must be cooking. I thought to myself as I continued along with the path of the strange feeling. Then I was yanked from my path and my scroll fell from it's wooden holder.

"What are you doing in there?! That was a burning building... And you... You were READING!" Looking up, I notice a peach colored unicorn in golden armor. Wait... It was burning? That explains the burnt hay smell. I looked up and his eyes widened.

"Why... You're only a colt!" I snorted. A colt? I am 10 years old!

Glaring at the unicorn, I walked off into the city, suddenly realizing that all the ponies around me were very rich, seeing by their clothing. I quickly galloped out of the city and into some odd looking woods.

Before long, I met a wolf made out of twigs. It appeared hurt and stuck under a rock, so I used my Earth Pony strength to push it out of the way, even though I was ready to run. Something didn't feel right about the strength in the wolf... I was right! After removing the rock, it ran towards me and extended it's claws. I quickly bolted, trying to kick it at the same time. It just managed to scratch my back legs with it extended reach before it got caught in some vines.
(Did anyone think of Tom? Oh dear. Gotta run, Rarity's pissed at me :raritydespair:)

Mauled by the claws before I got away, I limped to an odd looking tree with a red door on it. The strange feeling was strong here. Using the odd knocker, I waited. A few seconds later, an odd looking pony opened the door, looked at me and beckoned me in.

"You are the stranger I have beckoned, please, wait here for a second." She closed the door and I heard some shuffling, then the door opened again as she gestured into her house.

It was much nicer than my home, but there were many bottles and necklaces around in the shelves, carved into the wood. The 'pony' turned to face me, and smiled. "Not used to seeing a pony like me, I can see. I shall break from my rhymes for a spell, I am a zebra." Blinking, I stared at her again. Zebras were an old mares tale, to scare the children to sleep. But now that I think about it, she has the same black stripes that my mother used to tell me about. But she didn't look like she was going to eat me. Just... worried. "You need to find the source of the discourse, find an odd creature by the name of Discord."

"You are quite a young one, I see. But then again, you are quite young to be free. Perhaps something happened in your childhood, whatever it was, it shan't be good..." She trailed off. Looking at me again with hardened eyes, she spoke in her twisted tongue. "You must never ignore the feeling inside you, but before that, you must be starving. Here, take some stew." Out of nowhere, she gives me a bowl of stew, which I drink hungrily. The food mother gave me had diminished a few days ago, and I was starving. Glancing up at her for a second, I felt my muzzle burn as she looked at me with a smile.

"Now that you have replenished your hunger, go and explore! You won't get any younger." She smiled at me, and gave me the knapsack that had suddenly gained some weight. I walked out of her home and looked at her as she smiled and waved at me. Feeling confident in myself, I puffed up my chest and continued into the forest.

I was young, but I would find the one to find... Discord. And there was no stopping me, or this strange feeling of mine. Nothing.
