Lightning Rose (XIII's OC)
3rd P.O.V.
“Aw… You are the only one I’ve seen… I could dig you up… I don’t know what might harm you!” She exclaimed in excitement as she looked at the beautiful gold and blue flower, which colors seemed to swirl. Her blue eyes were following the golden luster, shining from the sliver of light through the cave. Grabbing a feather out of her wing (and flinching), she dipped the cream-colored feather into her blue ink and scribbled down the facts she could tell about it.
“... Swirling colors of blue and gold… The gold shines when light hits it… Origin unknown…” She muttered to herself as she scribbled some notes into her notebook.
“Lightning Rose? Lightning Rose?” A small yell echoed throughout the cavern, and the flower curled up into a ‘W’. “Interesting…” Taking up her quill, she wrote in, ‘Curls up on a W when near loud creatures.’
SLAP!
In shock, her wing lets go of her notebook and quill and she looked up, clutching her cheek while trying to glare at the Alicorn, using her magic to levitate a book. “I swear, you’re like me, only writing instead of reading.” Rolling her eyes at the Princess of Friendship (who hits her friends with books apparently), she scrunched up her nose when she looked at her getup.
The princess had sticks and mud in her mane and tail, and she had streaks of green mush on her face. “What did you do to get here?” The princess’s tail flicks a bit, irritated. “I couldn’t find this cave until I heard you muttering.” She mumbled, avoiding the question. Lightning Rose grinned. Oh well, can’t get them all.
Lightning Rose’s P.O.V.
Walking back with the Princess of Friendship was a little weird, especially when she kept taking my notebook and reading it. “Princess, the paper is made from Whomping Willow wood. I would appreciate it if you didn’t destroy it…” She grinned sheepishly but gave it back. Tucking it back under my wing, I started to divert my path from her, which she noticed. “Um… Lightning, that path leads to the Tree of Harmony." I turn to look at her, slightly invigorated by my new find.
"I know." She looks at me oddly but starts to head back to Ponyville.

I yawned. It was late and I was about to collapse at my front door after trying hard not to bump into ANY of the plants on the ground and hanging from some trees. My wings were sore from careful fluttering and my hooves were throbbing from running away from a Timber Wolf. I gazed at the scenery I had from my treehouse and my eyes immediately landed on the glowing tree that became my nightlight and main investigation as I tried to understand what it was, how it came there, and so on. (Cause Author-chan is lazy)
"Who are you?" An elegant voice rang out in the desolate forest, making me slightly wince from the sudden sound. "Why are you at the Tree of Harmony? Do you live here? I quite like your idea of living next to that beauty." I immediately spotted the voice coming from a white mare, contrasting from all the colors of my plants.
She squinted and her eyes lit up. "Fluttershy! I didn't know you had a second home!" She trotted over quickly and I rolled my eyes. This keeps happening! "I'm not Fluttershy, for the last time." Of course, this wouldn't be the last time, but I have to say something, right?
"Oh, apologies. You really do look like-"
"Listen I understand that I look like Fluttershy but you sorta are on my lands right now..." Her bright blue eyes narrowed towards my direction. "I'm sorry, but this is the Tree of Har-" I was slightly frustrated with this mare.
"No, I mean you're on my land!" Her horn let off a small spark as I raised my voice. "This is not. Your. Land." She stated, slow and clear. I groaned. "Hey pony! If you would please look down, you would see you are stepping on my poor flowers!" She looked down and the pink was visible through her white fur.
She stepped off my dear petunias. "Oh dear, I'm quite sorry for all the trouble. I thought you were claiming the tree for yourself." Man, were the Mane Six this gullible? I shook my head as I started to investigate the trampled flowers. "Nah, I get it. It's a work of art, that's for sure. Hey, you know where that came from?" She shook her head.
"Er... I'm sure Twilight would know-"
"Nah. I already asked her." She blinked at my quick reply and sighed. "Well, dearly sorry for hurting your flowers. I must be off now." I waved her off before quickly rushing into my home to heal the dying plant. But of course it's cliche time and I trip over my scarf and smash an empty pot. I sighed. I really should just sleep this off.
First the Princess slaps me, then my poor petunias get trampled. Man, could this day get any odder?
I hear a knock on my door, even though it was wide open. Glancing through the scarf that covered my eyes, I saw the familiar rainbow flowing hair. "Oh no. No no no no no... Please why?!" Celestia peeked through the door.
"Why what?" I stayed silent.
"Princess?" She slowly walked in, using her magic to clean up the entrance to my doorway. "Yes, Lightning?"
I let out a large sigh as my scarf fluttered from my breath. "Can you come back tomorrow please?"
