My Little Pony:Marriage is Magic
TwiLuna
Load Full StoryNext ChapterTwilight Sparkle was pacing anxiously, her fiancee sitting next to her with an amused expression. "Should I wear a tuxedo, or you? Or neither? Or both of us?" She had been at it for at least an hour, having worn a decent dent in the ground. The owner of the bridal shop had also been sitting there for at least an hour, merely waiting for Twilight to make a decision. Suddenly, Twilight ceased her pacing, her eyes lighting up. "What do you think, Luna?"
"I think," smiled Luna, "You should wear the gown, and I the tuxedo." Her modern language had improved in the last few years, and it was quite evident.
"Of course!" Exclaimed Twilight, facehoofing. The shop owner looked up from her work with a tired smile, and trotted off to retrieve a rack of tuxedos.
"Thank you, Miss Shores," said Luna kindly as the mare pulled a long rack of tuxedos in. They ranged from black to white and every color in between, leaving Twilight to pace again.
"What color? What color?" Repeated Twilight, her brow furrowed.
"What about the wedding colors?" Inquired Luna gently, and Twilight ceased again.
"Of course!"
"Do you have anything silver, dark blue, or purple?" Inquired Luna, and Miss Shores vanished into the rack, searching for the proper colors. She emerged with a deep blue tuxedo with a silvery shirt firmly in her jaws, and Luna magically lifted it. Sliding it on, she turned to Twilight, shaking her flank a bit.
"Perfect!" Exclaimed Twilight, blushing a bit.
"That will be five thousand bits," said Miss Shores monotonously, and Twilight lifted a checkbook. She magically scrawled the proper number of bits in and hoofed it to the lady. "Thank you." Twilight and Luna left, Twilight sighing happily-Luna had chosen her dress.
Twilight smiled down at her dress, and turned towards her father. He gave a nod, and they stepped through the doorway. Heads turned towards them, and gasps echoed through the room, though Twilight saw nothing. She only saw her wife, standing ahead of her. The way her astral mane outlined her face, the way the tuxedo complimented her body... Twilight nearly ran towards her, barely managing a slow trot.
What the mayor said was a blur, as Twilight was caught in Luna's eyes, until she heard her cue.
"Princess Luna Regail and Twilight Wish Sparkle, please exchange your vows."
"Princess Luna Regail, with all my love, I take you to be my wife. I will love you through good and the bad, through joy and the sorrow. I will try to be understanding, and to trust in you completely. Together we will face all of life's experiences and share one another's dreams and goals. I promise I will be your equal partner in a loving, honest relationship, for as long as we both shall live. " A tear formed in Twilight's eye, and Luna started her vows.
"I, Princess Luna Regail, take you Twilight Wish Sparkle to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before. I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together. I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live."
"I now pronounce you wife and wife. Wife, you may now kiss your wife." A hint of confusion could be heard in the mayor's voice, but it was lost on the two newlyweds as their lips met.
Though Twilight knew they'd have many more days together, and of course the dance later, for now it felt like this was their only moment. And that was fine for her.
Luna and Twilight magically lifted the top tier of the cake, lifting it to the side to be save for their anniversary. Sharing a smile, they then lifted the cake cutter and cut the first slice.
"To an eternal marriage!" Cheered Twilight.
"To an eternal marriage," agreed Luna as they both took a bite. The room filled with cheers and dives for the cake until Pinkie popped out from under a table.
"Let's get this started!" Yelled the party mare, eliciting an explosion from a party cannon she had pulled out.
"Just Pinkie being Pinkie," smiled the two newlyweds simultaneously, before Luna trotted off to speak with her sister. Twilight turned and looked around, at all her friends, and wondered where they were going to be. Rarity had caught the bouquet, and was huddling over it, acting like Opalesence guarding her toy mouse. Rainbow Dash was strutting around and attempting to attract the interest of the Wonderbolts, while Applejack was talking with Pinkie. Fluttershy was hiding in a corner, staring (then covering her eyes) at Big Macintosh, and everyone else was just having fun. Turning back towards Luna, she trotted towards her, when Luna was suddenly there.
"May I have this dance?" Inquired Luna, and Twilight blushed.
"Of course," replied Twilight politely, and they went out to the dance floor to party the night away. Meanwhile, Twilight's observant eyes had missed two white mares glancing awkwardly at each other, or how Rainbow Dash's chest puffed out slightly more as she passed a certain Wonderbolt. But of course, those were things of the future, and these were the things of the present. Luna, the floor, and the stars above them.
Rarity sidled up next to Celestia, talking to her sideways, apparently attempting to avoid attention. "Same time tonight, your chambers?"
"Of course. Unless you want to go to the boutique," teased Celestia, somehow keeping up a poker face.
"With a filly around? What a suggestion," responded Rarity before the two mares trotted apart, and didn't look at each other again for the night. Somehow, Pinkie had found the champagne and Moonshine, and was shooting the corks across the room, giggling drunkenly as one hit Fancy Pants in the flank. The snooty stallion shot her a disapproving glare before shielding Fleur d Lis and trotting off.
Applejack snickered at Fluttershy's glances at her brother, but she was still smiling. About time that mare found someone for her, even if it would make them sisters. And about time her brother found someone who wasn't Cheerilee. That mare always gave her the willies, no matter how superstitious it was to believe the school teacher was a vampire.
