Sunset, Pinkie, Applejack, and Rarity backed into each other as the pack of Timberwolves surrounded them.

“They got us boxed in.” Rarity said, looking for an exit but the way back was now blocked off by a timberwolf.

“What do we do now?” Sunset said as the wolves approached them.

“Smash them until they don’t get up,” Applejack said, bucking a wolf knocking its head off.

The torso stumbled back but then another head grew out from its neck like a plant sprouting a new mouth and teeth.

“I’m a lean mean fighting machine,” Pinkie said, pulling out a large hammer from her mane with a menacing grin. With a swing, she bashed one to pieces.

One wolf charged at Sunset but was stopped with her magic. “It’s heavy,” Sunset yelled out as her horn glowed even brighter.

The wolf howled out as its legs snapped like twigs and it’s body started to compress. Her eyes glowed as the wolf was crushed into the shape of a ball and then tossed forward knocking over some of the wolfs like bowling pins.

“That was cool,” Pinkie yelled out and jumped in front of Rarity knocking another wolf down with her hammer.

"Stay back," Rarity said pushing the wolf back and tying it's limbs together with nearby vines.

Applejack bucked the wolf again smashing it against a tree trunk and this time it stayed down. The timberwolves howled and started to huddle together. Branches sprouted out from their bodies as they intertwined together forming into one very large timberwolf.

“Oh that is new,” Fluttershy said, making a mental note to update her book later.

“Any more ideas?” Sunset asked Applejack who was backing away from it.

“Ah think running would be a good idea,” Applejack suggested looking back.

Pinkie ran forward charging and jumped holding the hammer in her front hooves as she swung at it.

“Take that and this and that,” Pinkie yelled out swinging the hammer randomly hitting the huge wolf in different spots.

The hammer broke off small pieces of bark but didn’t phase the wolf. It growled and swung its front paw swatting Pinkie like a fly sending her flying back and slamming into a tree knocking her out.

“PINKIE!” They all yelled out but Sunset expression changed to anger.

Sunset’s wings appeared with a flash of magic and they appeared to be on fire. She looked directly at the Timberwolf with rage.

“You pissed off the wrong pony!” Sunset yelled as her horn glowed red.

Applejack and Rarity grabbed Pinkie pulled her back away from Sunset who appeared to be on fire, they felt the intense heat. There was a blast of flames that shot out from Sunset engulfing the huge Timberwolf. It howled out as it burned away slowly shrinking in size being consumed by the flames. It lashed out and tried to escape but it was useless and it stopped moving as it fell apart.

Fluttershy was shaking watching the flames slowly burning out. Sunset turned to look at them as her wings extinguished themselves and then fold against her undamaged but steaming.

“Are you ok?” Sunset said and took a step forward and passed out falling onto her right side.

“Sunset!” Applejack left Pinkie with Rarity and quickly walked up to her. She scooped up Sunset’s head in her front hooves and glanced over at the smoldering remains of the Timberwolves.

A few hours later…

Sunset slowly awoke to the sound of fire snapping and crackling, her eyes opened up looking at a camp fire. She saw Applejack stoking the fire and nearby was Rarity and Fluttershy tending to Pinkie.

“Yer awake,” Applejack said, smiling and walked over to Sunset and sat down next to her.

“How’s Pinkie?” Sunset asked slowly sitting up and moaned.

“Some cuts and bruises but she will be fine,” Fluttershy said as she finished applying ointment and stepped back.

“It’s just a flesh wound,” Pinkie said with a giggle and sat up.

“What the heck happened to ya?” Applejack asked and the others looked at her.

“I used too much magic,” Sunset answered and her stomach growled. “Excuse me.” She said, feeling embarrassed.

“I took the time to pack each of our food before we left,” Rarity said, pulling up her extra bag.

She used her magic to open the bag and removed carefully wrapped sandwiches for each of them. Sunset felt like she was starving and quickly ate her sandwich. The others took their time eating.

“Ah, it’s best we spend the night here and wait until morning to continue,” Applejack suggested, taking another bite.

They were surrounded by a few large rocks and broken tree trunks. The campsite was mostly on the flat dry surface. Rarity already set up her large tent which looked like a small purple house. Fluttershy’s tent looked normal in size. Applejack only had a sleeping bag with her. Sunset found her backpack which was all burnt up. She lost her sleeping bag and the mp3 player inside was now melted plastic.

“Pinkie you can sleep with me tonight,” Fluttershy said, pointing to her tent.

“Cool but I want to cook some marshmallows first,” Pinkie said, pulling out a bag of marshmallows from her mane.

“How did you do that? Sunset said, seeing that this was the second time Pinkie pulled an object out of her mane.

“I’m not telling,” Pinkie said with a goofy grin.

“Well you know Sunset this is Equestria after all,” Rarity said, leaning back into her large red chair.

“When something can’t be explained,” Fluttershy said, starting to explaining.

“Then magic is the answer,” Sunset said, finishing the sentence. “I have been away too long,” She sighed and looked up at the stars.

“Is there magic in the human world?” Applejack asked, relaxing by the fire.

“There is where I am, but only your counterparts and the ones who came from Equestria can use magic. The average human is clueless about it,” Sunset said and stood up.

“What does a human look like?” Pinkie said with a mouth full of sticky marshmallows.

“Well, something like this,” Sunset’s body glowed and there was a flash as she changed into her human form.

Rarity fell out of her chair with her mouth wide open. Applejack was surprised but she tried not to show it. Fluttershy was more curious to see a new creature in front of her.

“This is the coolest thing ever!” Pinkie quickly jumped from her spot and ran over to Sunset looking her over. “What are these things?” She said pointing.

“Hands,” Sunset said, wiggling her fingers.

“So that is what Twilight was talking about,” Applejack said remembering.

Fluttershy took out her sketchbook and quickly scribbled in a new entry called human. She started drawing a quick draft of a Sunset in her book.

After a few minutes, everyone settled down and Sunset was back to her pony self.

“Since we are going to spend the night here. Ah will take the first watch,” Applejack said.

“Princess please come into my tent I have lots of room,” Rarity said, leading her to the tent.

“Fine but please just don’t call me princess,” She said with a sigh and looked back at everyone. “Good night,” Sunset said, walking into the purple tent.

Pinkie and Fluttershy went into the small yellow tent waving a hoof to Applejack.

Applejack yawned look up at the moon and leaned back against a stump keeping an out a watchful eye.

Minutes pass by as Sunset laid in the bed which was very comfortable being portable.

“Pri.. Sunset are you still awake?” Rarity asked from the other side.

“Mmm ya,” Sunset mumbled in the darkness.

“Please don’t waste your magic on hiding your wings,” Rarity suggested with a yawn.

“So you noticed?” Sunset said, letting out a sigh as her wings appeared.

“This horn is not just for looks,” Rarity said getting comfortable.

Sunset relaxed and slowly fell asleep.

*****

Adagio awoke the next day feeling like she was suffering from a hangover. Also, the water and temperature felt different. Blinking her eyes awake she noticed that she was no longer in the town hall but in a very large aquarium. A few random fish swam in front of her. Moving closer to the glass she looked around and noticed that she had been moved into a large room. The room has pictures, paintings, and a large collection of unusual items. Looking further she also noticed drawings and paintings of different sea creatures. There was a whole section on the wall that had paintings and figurines of Sirens. Adagio seemed to recognize some of them but not the names. Her eyes then locked in on a large life-size statue in the middle of the room. It was a Siren that looked a lot like her and there was a red gem on the sternum. It appeared to be made of marble but still had color as if it was once alive.

Why couldn’t you let her rest in peace. She thought as her anger grew and started hitting the glass with her hooves. Unlike earth ponies her hooves were not solid but more like hard rubber. But she made enough noise to get Mr. Rich’s attention, he quickly walked into the room.

“What is going on?” He asked noticing the angry expression on Adagio face.

Adagio tried to speak but she was under water. She tried to surface but there was a solid lid covering the top of the tank that prevented her.

“I spent good money on that aquarium, now behave if you want to eat later,” Mr. Rich said and noticed that Adagio was staring at the statue.

“So know who this is or was,” He touched the side of the statue with his hoof. “I found her years ago when I was down south with the boys,” Mr. Rich walked up to a photo showing him with a group of other ponies dressed in safari outfits. “Those were the days,” He said with a smile on his face.

“Who are you talking to dear?” Spoiled Rich said walking into the room and look at Adagio and screamed.

Adagio couldn’t hear everything being underwater but she was reading some of the lip movements and body language, she could tell that Mrs. Rich was pissed.

“But honey bun hear me out.” Mr. Rich put his hoof around her.

“I have put up with your collection of nick and nacks for years. I thought it was going to end with that statue, but now you have real one in our Aquarium!” She yelled in his face.

“She may be the last of her kind." He said.

"That's not our problem." She said with her hooves crossed.

"Ponies will come from miles to see her and my collection,” He said still not convincing her.

"We are not running a zoo or a museum," She said with a grumble.

“They will pay good money,” Mr. Rich said raising an eyebrow.

“How much?” Mrs. Rich asked now sounding interested.

“100 bits may be more. They will also need places to stay and food to eat. Think of the opportunities,” He said holding her.

“OK fine, you convinced me for now. I’ll ask Diamond to make up the flyers,” She said sounding more enthusiastic. "But if this does not work out I want that thing out of here ASAP," Mrs. Rich said looking serious before leaving the room.

Mr. Rich walked up to the aquarium. Adagio eyes followed him showing her teeth.

“You are going to make us a lot of money.” He said with a grin and tapped on the glass before walking out of the room.

Adagio leaned her head against the glass with a thump, looking again at the statue. One name came to mind when she looked.

Allegro Dazzle her long lost sister.

*****

Applejack was snoring loudly leaning against a fallen tree, her plan of keeping watch failed miserably. Pinkie was giggling as she pulled out a marker and started drawing on her face.

"Oh my," Fluttershy said covering her mouth with a hoof.

Sunset yawned as she stepped outside and heard Pinkie giggling. She stretched out her legs and then her wings open fully before folding back to her sides.

"Good morning," She said walked up to Pinkie who stepped back snickering.

Applejack now had a second set of eyes drawn on her eyelids and eyebrows that looked like Mr. Spock with a pointy looking bread. Sunset covered her mouth trying not to laugh and quickly backed away bumping into Rarity.

"Hey!" Rarity yelled being knocked over onto her rear.

"Good morning ya all." Applejack yawned out and blinking looking around.

The first thing she noticed was Pinkie was rolling on the ground laughing. Fluttershy was avoiding eye contact covering her mouth. Sunset seemed to have the case of the giggles. Rarity was brushing the dirt off her tail.

"Did ah miss something?" She asked.

"No, um, nothing at all," Sunset said clearing her throat.

"Pinkie how could you?" Rarity said looking at Applejack in shock.

"What is it? Is there something on my face?" Applejack said blinking.

Rarity quickly rushed Applejack into her tent where there was a mirror.

"PINKIE!" Applejack yelled out from the tent and then tried to escape the tent but Rarity pulled her back in with her magic.

"Oh no, you don't, not until I get you all cleaned up." She said from inside the tent.

"Let me go, ah'll make her eat that marker," Applejack yelled some more.

"So what does a pony have to do to get some coffee around here?" Sunset asked.

Later on...

After packing up they heading out tracing their tracks back until they found the charred remains of the timberwolves. They carefully walked around the pile and continued down the trail.

Fluttershy was again able to find another dragon print and continued on. It felt like they walked for miles but it was just pushing there was through the forest that was slowing them down. Finally, the trail opened up and they saw an opening in a mountain.

Sunset noticed old rails on the ground with a some broken mine carts upside down. Applejack also noticed and walked up to the entrance. Fluttershy found more dragon prints in the mud and some claw marks on the carts.

"Look I found an old sign." Pinkie lifted the wood sign and leaned it against the side of a large rock.

"Danger unstable mines, closed due to collapse, do not enter." Fluttershy read out loud.

"Why would a dragon come to a place like this?" Rarity asked looking at them.

Applejack stepped on something shiny and dug it out with her hoof.

"Take a look." She said and kicked a small gem over for them to see.

"Dragon's love eating gems, it's like candy to them," Fluttershy said.

"Spike loves gems, could he be here?" Rarity asked them.

"If Spike is here then Twilight might be here also," Sunset said and closed her eyes concentrating as her horn started glowing. "I can feel her magic. What about you Rarity?" She said still closing her eyes.

Rarity closed her eyes and then nodded. "Yes, you are right, I also think I can sense Spike," She said opening her eyes.

Pinkie pulled out a mining hat out of her mane and slipped it on her head.

"There are times ah wished ah had a horn like yer girls," Applejack said.

"There are others down there as well, with luck we will also find the missing children," Sunset opened her eyes.
