The Tale of Jad Omega
Chapter 3 - Tetra's Departure
Previous ChapterAfter Onyx's departure of my office I decided it was about time I get my place cleaned up. I walked to my desk and grabbed the mop I keep beside it with my wing. It had been quite a long time since I cleaned up my office. As soon as I started moving the mop back and forth I spoke to myself "I remember why I never do this anymore. I fucking hate it". Sure, I like having a clean office. I like being professional. But the work I have to put in to keep this place clean is off the charts. I clean and clean and clean, then the next time that a patient comes in, blood is splattered everywhere. It's such a mess.
I continue mopping anyways as I walk around and examine my office. I've always been proud of where I work. My office has always been my safe-haven. In fact, I rarely leave in the first place. My office is extremely large. It looks as if somepony just took a whole different building and gave it to me. There are only a few things in my office. My desk, my chair, my..."operating" tables, and the hooks that hang from...well, nothing really. The walls and ceiling seem to disappear in the darkness, as if they don't exist. My office is dark, as there are no windows to be seen. Yet somehow, there is just enough of a soft light coming from an unknown source to see. I never questioned it. I never understood it. Before I know it my office is spotless. My tables are nicely aligned, my floors are blood free, and my papers in my desk are finally organized.
I decided to sit back in my chair and relax for a bit. As I slowly drift off to sleep I suddenly get woken up by the sound of my large office doors being opened. Already, I'm pissed off. You do not wake up Jad Omega. However, I already knew who it was. Tetra, my boss is the only one brave enough to enter my office without making herself known. She has a heart of iron, and the bravery of a damn lion. She's unbreakable. I squinted my eyes open, sat up, and mumbled to myself "What could it possibly be this time..."? Tetra stood in the doorway, silent. "Tetra, what do you want." I asked her blankly. She remained silent and slowly walked in my office, closing my doors behind her. Her head was hung low, her tail between her legs, and it looked as if she had been crying. I raised and eyebrow and remained sitting in my chair, leaning forward on my desk. "Well...?" I asked.
Tetra remained silent. She walked in my office and began to look around. She finally spoke, calmly, and slowly "Jad...I'm going to miss you...you always were the face of the Asylum...". I was lost. I wasn't sure what she was talking about. I stood up on my hind legs and walked towards her. "What's going on Tetra?" I asked her. She looked up at me, and what I saw made my eyes go wide. Tetra had been crying. Her eyes were puffy, her cheeks were tear stained, she had been broken. The strongest mare I had ever met, the mare with the heart of iron, had been crying. Tetra, my boss, the only one brave enough to enter my office. Tetra, the mare with the bravery of a lion and an unbreakable will, had been broken.
I got back on all four's to her level and looked her dead in the eyes. "Tetra. What is going on. I need you to tell me". She said nothing, but instead sat down and started trying to talk through countless sobs. I couldn't make heads or tails of it. "J-jad! I'v....*sob* I've...*sob* been l-let *sob* g-...g....*sob* Go...". I looked at her with a blank face. "Tetra. You need to calm down and explain to me what is going on. I can't understand you like this." I said. She took a few deeps breaths and looked at me as tears proceeded to roll down her cheeks. "Jad..." she said. "I've been fired...".
