Mirror, Mirror

It was a rainy day in Ponyville, the storm clouds were everywhere and it was pouring. A pony in a dark cloak is running through the thundering rain, it's so pitch black outside you can only see an inch of her hooves, which were white. She was inches from Twilight's castle.

"Perfect. Some royal sucker to take this little 'gift'." She smiled. She trotted inside, unnoticed and left the 'gift' on Twilight's bed. It was a mirror. She immediately dashed out before she could wake up, and ran away from the town back to wherever she came from.

That very next morning, Twilight woke up to see the same mirror on her bed.

"Strange." She walked into the dining hall where Spike and her friends are waiting for her, preparing breakfast for each other.

"What's that you're holding, Darling?" Rarity questioned.

"Some mirror. Did any of you give this to me?" They shook their heads, and shrugged. They all sat down and enjoyed some breakfast.

"I'm serious, something's up with this. What- What the? There's an inscription in the back."

"What does it say?" Fluttershy asked.

"I don't know, it's so dusty and old. Let's see...

With this spell, will this mirror come to life

The Mirror Realm open, for chaos and strife

For when this is read, chaos may unfurl

Once the magic is cast, doom will come to all"

At an instant, the mirror shined extremely bright, and the red gem above turned blue. There was a flash, and the mirror turned blue and swirly like...A portal.

"Twilight?! What did you do?" Spike shouted in shock.

"The Mirror Realm, whatever that is... It's-It's...Free. And it's all my fault." Twilight fell to the ground in panic, and cried.

"I think I've seen something like that mirror before. Let me get the book about Forbidden and Legal Magic." She flew up, and moments later came down with a large book covered in gems. Pages flipped with her magic.

The Mirror Realm!

"Hm, here we go... The Mirror Realm, a chaotic and dangerous world where every last opposite pony of Equestria lives. The Mirror Realm hasn't been free in the last 1,000 years. If the doorway remains closed, both worlds will remain in perfect harmony. But when opened, unspeakable things could happen. Whatever a pony should do, they should NEVER open the gateway!" She continued as she read the page.

"Uh, what kind of things?" Rarity quietly asked.

"I don't know. That's all there is." Twilight frowned and her ears fell down on her head. She levitated the mirror up with her magic and examined it, tilting her head. Before she could say anything, there was another flash, and a hoof appeared. A pony had walked through it. It looked like Twilight, but her coat was light blue, her mane was dark blue and black, and her eyes were light blue. Her cutie mark was a moon surrounded by five blackened stars.

"Huh? W-who are you?" Twilight stared up at her.

"Uh... Moonlight. Moonlight Twinkle, and who are you?"

"Twilight Sparkle." She replied. The Mane 6 gasped in horror at Twilight's mirrored self.

"I live in Airtseuqe. What is this place?"

"Equestria, Twinkle. I guess since it's opposite, or reversal, of things in the Mirror Realm, Equestria is Airtseuqe."

"Really? Wow! You have to see my home. I live in a tree, and it's a perfect world, with perfect ponies, and it's amazing! This world seems the same. Do you have princes like I do? Prince Solaris and Prince Eclipse?"

"PRINCES?!" The Mane 6 gasp, and stare at her. The Mirror Realm did truly exist. But there was more to it, than meets the eye.
