This is Admiral Artemis Lindrake, first log entry aboard the newly commissioned carrier, UCFS Flame of Hope.
Our first patrol mission is to begin within the next twenty four hours. A lot of research, time and credits have been sunk into building this vessel, and as such, many of the higher ups are keeping a close eye on both her, and the performance of the crew.
Some of the greatest pilots, marines and sailors have been chosen for our maiden voyage, and if all goes well, then soon the Flame will become the flagship of an entirely new line of carriers.
Needless to say, tensions are running high.
The chosen men and women to serve aboard for the maiden tour are all people that any officer would be proud to have under their command. Included in that list is the newly formed Fighting fourteenth squadron, nicknamed the shooting stars.
Every one of them is either an experienced combat pilot, or at the very least, the absolute top of their class.
Next up is the drop ship squadron, the eighty seventh, also known as the Runners. Don't let the name fool you, every one of them is a hardened veteran of the Vindictum uprising of 2860.
The marine detail are marines of the three hundred and fifth division. Their commanding officer aboard is one Major Marcus Reid, a highly decorated commanding officer who led the assault on then nuclear defense facility during the battle.
My second in command, is to be one Commander Melissa Bradich. Though she's quite new out of officer's school, Melissa has shown an ability to handle any given situation under pressure and an efficiency that other commands could only dream of.
I have every confidence in everyone under my command, and I know that they will make me, and everyone in the Federation proud.
Admiral Artemis Lindrake, signing off.

Author's Note
It's back ladies and gents.
I know that when I first released Aces in Exile, I was fairly new to writing and thus it was quite bad.
But now that I've had some practice, my account's launching story is back and it's going to be better than ever!
More will be uploaded as soon as possible, but until then,
I'll see you among the stars!
