The New Big Head Killer
I: The Return

After attempting to put on the Mask, the nearly indestructible man, Walter, realized it wouldn't work on himself. With so much rage built up from years worth of energy and hurt because of a mask that didn't work on him, he threw the Mask with full force in a direction that he didn't care where, as long as it was out of his sight for good.
Once the Mask landed in a swamp, it slowly moved itself onto land.
" So many failed vessels...... Stanley...Callaway....Katie...mob dealers....stupid teenagers...." the Mask whispered, spewing out it's lost cause. It slowly began to glow a brighter green than it's exterior, and once again breathed," This world may be too strong for me now, but it needn't cheer for glory.... for I shall return, after I go to a more suitable location to corrupt...."
The mask slowly faded into nothingness, with nobody to witness it.
The case of the Big Head Killer continued, but nobody knew if he was still around, if it had escaped, or something else occurred. Callaway never gave up and continued the case with Katie, but they wouldn't find it within their lifetimes.
Equestria
Hugo Winston is your everyday intelligent, outgoing, yet somewhat dark stallion you'd hate to dislike. Even though he has great intelligence, even he has his dim-witted moments where he is taken advantage of. He overall has a strong body and will.
Like many stallions in Fillydelphia, Hugo lives in an apartment complex, living a stable lifestyle with his middle-class income. He hasn't done amazing things in his lifetime, but he has helped people out in need, maybe even going a bit far at points. The very stallion many mares would tell their fillies and colts," Be like him."
Even with so much going for him, he wished he could do more in his community, but didn't know what to do. He would never want to be a police officer, maybe help out on the level of one, but not the job. Having so much will to continue this conquest filled his skull with determination, yet the opposite of it.
Today, Hugo has tried going through every newspaper clipping, advertisements, and public boards he could find, but only foal-sitting and mowing the lawns ( Which were very little as is, considering Fillydelphia is mostly a concrete jungle) came from what he found, but his vigilance struck him in the back of his head once more, trying to file through the papers of his mind to figure out ways he could improve life and other's everyday routine, and one thought actually struck a fire! His idea, while simple, seemed enough to improve the town for years on end. This idea, was the public watch program.
The next day, he put up posters to join his program, while scouting around the town, looking for potential crime. The odds were in his favor, and he actually got caught in a crime that day. It was no murder, but it was still a big deal to him, as he had a diplomatic mindset.
Hugo had to do some grocery shopping at one point and went to the local shop. While looking for his oranges, somepony had walked in the store and started looking around the general area, making sure nothing would get in his way for his dirty duty. Luckily for Hugo, he was near the back and was unable to be seen by the criminal.
The criminal then took out a gun and screamed," Hooves in the air! Give me all the money in the register!" With the cashier applying, though Hugo could not make out what they were saying.
With this opportunity at hoof, Hugo slowly tip-toed around to find a vantage point to make the pounce. He picked up a bottle, and walked the isle behind the criminal, the cashier noticing, but not giving much attention. As Hugo walked right behind the criminal, he hit the bottle against his head, and it simply bouncing off his head from a lack of force, leaving the man saying," Ow!"
Hugo slowly walked back, but he was unfortunate in his endeavors as the stallion said," Get your weak little ass back over here before I shoot you, you moron!"
He chose not to question him, but to do as he says, even if he had to get beat up. The criminal gave a dead glare at him, and gave him a strong punch to the cheek, knocking Hugo off his hooves. The mischievous man began to kick Hugo in his gut, his face, and even pull his tail.
" Ha! Some nerve for a wimp like you to try to square up to a guy like me!" The stallion laughed maniacally, as he took the money and galloped out.
"Are you okay, sir?!" The cashier ran to Hugo's side and looked at all of his injuries," You need to go to a hospital! Let me give you a ride there!" He said, offering his hoof up.
Hugo took his hoof up, but responded," Thanks, but no thanks. I don't go to the hospital because I wasn't good enough, I'll manage without it. Have a good day anyways..." and trotted out the door, leaving the cashier dumbfounded.
By this time, it was twilight. Nearly night, but not quite. Hugo slowly limped through town and found himself settling down in an empty park, one nopony ever really goes to at all. He sat on a bench, and began to catch his breath and look at his wounds. There were gashes in his head, deep ones not to mention, small cuts, bruises all over his torso, and he had a black eye. " Such shit luck..... Why do my good intentions always get me in trouble...?"
".....I know why......"
Hugo jumped up off the park bench and looked around," Who's there?" was all he could manage to say, as he trembled with fear. Looking around himself, he could not figure out where the source came from, and he scoured the area. Hugo searched trees, bushes, and underneath anything, there was nothing.
Something did catch his eye after awhile though. After a minute of looking, a bright green light appeared behind him, which made Hugo turn to see. "What in Tartarus...?"
Hugo made no question in his head, he trotted to the dreaded place, unknowing what would be there, if it would hurt him, or do anything at all. Taking the final steps, his vision was filled with green and saw something very peculiar. It was a green mask that had nothing special about it, but a very light hissing sound could be heard coming from it, hard to hear, but once you hear it, you can't unhear it.
Picking the mask up, Hugo's spine seemed to shake slowly, alerting himself of possibilities. He looked to his left, then his right, and then put the mask in his satchel to hold.
Walking home silently, nothing came to mind as to what the mask could possess or if it even had anything spectacular about it, as that was the least of Hugo's problems, for he had wounds to look after.
-About an Hour Later-
Finally arriving in his apartment, Hugo threw the satchel on his table and went to look in his bathroom for supplements and bandages for his injuries. With his supplies, he walked back into the living room and sat at the kitchen table, where his satchel lay. While emptying out the satchel for other possible help, the mask fell out and the curious mind became even more curious.
While picking up the mask with caution, Hugo examined it, as green light started sparkling on the mask. Leaving the mask on it's open side, he began to bring it toward his face. Once it touched his face, it began to suck the face, and attached itself to Hugo.
All the screams were muffled, the mask completely covered the back of his head and the top, and it seemed to be transforming himself. Hugo tried to take it off, but it was no use, for he was basically scratched his own hooves. He didn't know what gotten into himself, and he suddenly dashed all across his room, seemingly in a Tasmanian Devil tornado, styled way.
It all happened for over a minute, and once he finally stopped, he felt good as new. Observing his own body, he then said," Eureka! All of my injuries are gone! This mask must have regenerative powers! What'd it do to me though...?" Hugo ran like a maniac to the bathroom mirror, and observed his face with the mask on. It turned green, his hair was all on the inside of the mask, the teeth were bigger and he had less of them, and it basically gave him a fresh face.
"Not too shabby, if I do say so myself! Hmm.... I wonder what other abilities this mask gave me besides regeneration..." Hugo decided to dash out of the room and all the way to the bottom of the building, in under twenty seconds I might add. "Speed too, eh? Well, that's great and all, but I need to see if I have any powers and strength."
Thinking randomly, he reached into his pocket to take out a hat, way bigger than his pocket, said," Eh... Too seventies," and tossed the hat across the room, in which the hat stuck to the wall as if it were a knife being forcefully slammed against the wall. Reaching into his pocket once more, he pulled out a black fedora," Ah yes! I was always a fedora fanatic, why not?"
Hugo put on his hat happily, and reached into his second pocket, having an entire chocolate milkshake appear out of it. " Oh! Chocolate! My favorite!" he stated, and proceeded to sip the shake. " I could get used to this alright!" he said with a grin," But I wonder... maybe I can help take out some of the eh, 'trash' of the city?" his grin starting to become more devilish, and quickly slammed through the door outside, leaving a hole of his shape in the door. " Sorry about that, but I gotta skedaddle!"
Author's Note
The story only goes back to the third rendition of the Mask comic series, as I do not know much about the fourth series and found I should only do up to what I know about the story. Sorry bout that!
Again, sorry for putting my other story on hiatus, I just don't know what to do with it at the moment, and I am very interested in the Mask for the time being.
