Silver Script has seen a lot of things in her life: a cartoon turned reality, her life repeatedly turned upside down, and even the afterlife well before her time. In her years since becoming a pony, however, she hasn't seen a single human being. Almost twenty years among ponies, especially the years spent raising her daughters, have made her doubt whether she has any humanity left in her.

When an old friend and former mentor reveals the existence of a portal to an alternate reality and a foreboding message from herself, she gets an opportunity to reconnect with her human side. The chance is not without its strings, though. The mirror world is under threat by an otherworldly power and seemingly stuck in a decades-long time loop established to preserve the world.

With Twilight unable to abandon her duties and unwilling to risk damage to either world through exposure to her other self, Silver takes it upon herself, a being native to neither reality, to do her best to help break the world out of its cycle and stop the invading entity before it's too late.
