Chapter 2: Return of Family

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Efon slowly trotted back to his home in the Everfree. He was minding his own business when something along the path caught his attention.
“What the?” he questioned as he levitated a small necklace with a heart shaped locket off the ground’s floor, “Where did this come from?” The locket swung open when he briefly touched a small button on its side. Inside was a small picture of a small, white filly, a cyan Pegasus, with a rainbow, ruffed up mane just like the filly, and white stallion with a navy blue mane which flowed backwards. “This is that filly I helped earlier,” Efon said to himself as he stared at the picture, “And that must be her mom and dad.”

He pondered as he thought of what to do with it. It’s getting late and he was almost home. But he couldn’t just leave it here. “And I can’t keep something like this,” he thought to himself, “I could never keep something like this in my life.” He turned around and made his way back to where he had left the young filly.

Chroma was sleeping in her nice warm cloud bed. She was sound asleep until a sudden noise a woke her. It had sounded like something banged against the glass her bedroom window. She sat herself up on her bed, rubbed her eyes, and made her way to the wind. At first glance, she couldn’t see anything out there. She lifted her window up to get a better look. She looked down on to the window sill, to find a familiar silver necklace and a heart shaped locket, resting there. She quickly but a hoof on her chest, finally realizing that hers was missing. Then she swiftly picked up the one on the window sill up and opened the heart shaped locket. At this moment, she had seen the picture of her and her parents.

“How did this get out here?” she asked to no one.

She then realized that the last time she had it was when she trying to fly that day. “Maybe it fell off when I hit that tree,” she said, “But how did it…” A thought popped into her mind.

“Could it have been him?”

She shut her window and climbed back into bed. She didn’t go back to sleep, though. Instead, she stood up and stared blankly at the cloudy sealing. Thoughts of the creature that had saved her came back into mind. She still had no idea what he was. However, that didn’t stop her from thinking about him. His sleek black body, that turquoise, cobwebby mane and tail, and those shimmering emerald eyes. Oh how beautiful his eyes were. The more Chroma thought about them, the bigger her smile gotten.

“That’s it,” she shouted to herself, “I have to meet him again. I have to know more about him, what he is, where he’s from.” She paused her thought as she looked to her clock on her bed side drawer. “Thank goodness tomorrows Saturday.”

Author's Note

Yeah, real short chapter. But don't worry, the next one will make up for this one. Just needed to find a way to get Chroma's determination high enough so that she could go back to meet Efon. Just to let you know, I write these in Microsoft Word first, then put them into this. So if things don't seem right in these chapters, they might be. I'm not a good writer, but at least I try my hardest. Thecartoonmaster123 out!
