Chapter 11-David's Mission

As the two attacks collided, an explosion sent the trainers and ponies reeling. As Mega Tyranitar threw several more Chip Away attacks at Mega Absol, the shiny Pokemon gracefully dodged each one, almost as if dancing a deadly duel.

"Now, Absol! Use Hex!" Matthew's father yelled. Absol summoned orbs burning with ghostly fire, and threw them at Tyranitar.

"Use Dark Pulse!" Corvo yelled. Tyranitar sent a pitch-black shockwave towards the Ghost-Type move. The two attacks connected, causing a plume of dust.

"Use Razor Wind!" Matthew's dad ordered. Absol roared, and a cyclone of wind formed behind him. Absol then slashed with his claws, and the cyclone slammed into Tyranitar. Corvo raised his eyebrows slightly.

"Time to end this little game! Use OUTRAGE!" Corvo yelled. A plume of purple, blue, and red energy formed around Tyranitar, and its eyes turned red with anger. It raised a fist, ready to throw a colossal punch. Absol sat down, as if waiting. Tyranitar's fist was about to make contact when Matthew's father yelled.

"NOW!" he yelled. Absol suddenly reared back and jumped, dodging the attack at the last possible moment before Tyranitar's punch made contact with the ground. A massive plume of dust followed by an explosion blinded the trainer's view. Then, they saw the unbelievable. Absol stood upon a pillar, completely untouched. Tyranitar reared back, the powerful Dragon-type move fading. Corvo laughed before taking out Tyranitar's Ultra Ball.

"A most impressive match. But heed this, ponies of this realm...Your days are numbered!" he bellowed, cackling with laughter as the helicopter doors closed and the helicopter flew away. Rainbow tried to go after it, but Absol leaper in front of her, glaring at her. Rainbow backed down in fright at Absol's Mean Look.

"That's enough, Absol." Matthew's father said. The Absol nodded and returned to his trainer's side, sitting proudly as it returned to normal from its Mega Evolution. The trainers and the ponies stood there in shock, until Matthew stepped forward to face his father.

"Dad." he said simply.

"Son." His father replied. "How've...you been?"

"Fine." Matthew said, looking up at his father.

"Guess we should catch up on old times, huh?" his dad said before Matthew hugged him, full-force. Matthew's dad smiled as they stepped away from each other.

"Dad, how'd you get here?" Matthew said.

"Kind of a long story." Matthew said. "Let's talk about it later. I think some introductions are in order. For those who don't know me.." he said, speaking to the crowd of ponies and trainers. "I'm David Hansen. I'm Matthew's father."

==================================

Later, after guards arrived to clean up the damage from the battle, the ponies walked into Celestia's spacious library, to a separate area where they could speak in private. Matthew and Grace sat together, while David leaned on a column.

"Well, here goes." he said. "Any questions?"

"Why'd you leave?" Matthew said. David sighed and looked at his son.

"It's something I'd rather not say. Just know I didn't have a choice." David said. "It was a hard thing, leaving you and your mother behind. But I knew I had to. If I didn't leave...Things wouldn't have worked out the way they did. Besides, once Lysandre rebuilt Team Flare and unleashed his plans on the world...I knew I had work to do."

"Work to do?...Are you some sort of law enforcement agent?" Twilight asked.

"In a sense." David said. "I work for the International Police. A group that works around the globe to catch threats greater than usually handled by Officer Jenny. Such as the plans evil groups that are attempting for world domination. Matthew, the reason I left was because of Corvo."

"That Team Nova guy?" Pinkie asked.

"Yes. Corvo's more than the leader of a crime syndicate. He's an expert scientist and a former colleague of the Mossdeep Space Center and Lysandre labs. He cut off communications with them, after we discovered he was attempting to bridge the gap separating our world from this one. I tracked him down to the Orange Islands and attempted to arrest him. He escaped, and I've been pursuing him since. He's a sneaky devil, I'll give him that. I was attempting to capture him in Lumiose when I was caught. Corvo used a prototype copy of the Dimensional Shifter to send me here. That was yesterday, by my reckoning. My IP training allowed me to avoid detection by your Guard, Celestia."

Celestia nodded.

"When I saw Corvo threatening you, Matthew, I couldn't stand by. I intentionally broke my mission parameters to save you. I might get a pretty bad lecture from Anabel, but I'll be fine." David said.

"What's Corvo even after?" Grace said.

"Like I said, he wants to combine our world with this one, believing ours to be superior. In his mind, this world is a way to channel our world's waste and cast-off. Simply put, he's trying to make a new world order here."

"That simply will not happen!" Celestia said angrily.

"He has his ways." David said. "He's an expert strategist. He knows how to do what he wants to do. That being said, after the battle I gave him, he's not likely to show up anywhere in this world for a while."

"We'll need more trainers to stop him if it comes to that." Matthew said.

"Then let's get those trainers here, son." David said.

"Yay, more friends!" Pinkie yelled.
