Chapter 13:

Twilight, Fluttershy and Rainbow talk.

Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Twilight all made their way into Rainbow’s home once Fluttershy and Twilight where both inside Rainbow closed the door then headed upstairs. Fluttershy opened up the foyer closet and placed her coat onto a coat rack that was inside the foyer. Twilight sat down on the third step leading up towards the living room and was about to take off her boots when Rainbow came to the edge of the top step saying to her.

“There’s no need to take off your boots Twilight I could care less what the carpet looks like.”

Twilight looked up, from where she was sitting nodded to Rainbow then got up and headed upstairs herself. Going to the kitchen as she followed Rainbow Twilight found Fluttershy already sitting at the kitchen table with a small pile of pictures in front of her. As Twilight passed the table the table Fluttershy held up a photo for her to see it and said to her.

“I remember when this one was taken.”

Twilight stopped and turned to look at the photo that Fluttershy was holding in her hands. It was of Sunset and Twilight at the local animal park. Twilight had Spike on a leash and Spike had managed to get both her and Sunset tied up in it.They both had embarrassed looks on their faces as Spike could be seen in the photo with his tongue sticking out the left side of his mouth and a silly grin on his face. Both Twilight and Sunset were looking at each other and Twilight in the photo could be seen with her hands up against Sunset’s chest. Twilight walked over to the table and gently took the photo from Fluttershy saying as she held it in her hands.

“I was so embarrassed by what I did to Sunset that day. I didn’t mean to grab onto her chest like that I was in fact trying to keep us from getting tied up. No thanks to Spike who thought it would be a good idea to run around the two us until we were both completely tied up like this.”

Fluttershy took the photo back saying as she picked up another one.

“Yes Sunset didn’t seem to want Spike to come back after that I remember she gave him quite the scolding for that.”

Rainbow stood near the kitchen stove with a look of both sadness and fondness on her face as she remembered that day with Sunset and Twilight. Fluttershy set down the other photo she had been looking at got up and walked over to Rainbow taking her in her arms and hugged her tightly. Twilight said to both of them.

“Thank you both for having me over tonight. I know it must be hard on you both to have me here after we have lost such a good friend.”

Fluttershy ended her embrace with Rainbow, turned to face Twilight saying to her gently.

“Oh, it’s not trouble at all besides like Rainbow I too don’t want to be alone tonight. Now if Rainbow is willing I’d like to show you where you will be sleeping tonight. Then we can talk about Sunset some more after I order us some food.”

Twilight smiled as she and Fluttershy both headed out of the kitchen and down the hallway. Leaving Rainbow in the kitchen by herself. Rainbow walked up to the pile of photos that lay on the kitchen table picked up the one that Fluttershy had been looking at. It was of all of the girls standing out front of the school embraced in a warm hug with Sunset in the middle of the group. Rainbow felt tears sliding down her cheeks as she looked at the photo. Twilight was to Sunsets left, with Fluttershy next to her. Rainbow was seen in the photo to Sunsets right with Rarity next to her. Pinkie was next to Rarity with Applejack standing behind Sunset. Each of them had warm smiles on their faces. Rainbow said to herself as she picked up the pile of photos then put them back into a drawer that was in one of the cabinets in her kitchen.

“I will find that monster that did this to you Sunny, I’ll stay on the straight and narrow and I won’t tarnish your legacy I promise.”

Rainbow closed the drawer then headed down the hallway to the spare bedroom where Twilight would be staying that night. When she got in the room Twilight looked at Rainbow then at Fluttershy and asked them both.

“Is it alright with both of you if I stay over until Sunset’s funeral  I would normally not ask to stay with anyone but, I really don’t have any where else to go. And like you both have already told me neither of you want to be alone at a time like this and nor do I for that matter.”

Rainbow nodded to Twilight and Fluttershy brushed a strand of hair out her eyes as she said to Twilight.

“We need to pick you up some sleeping clothes. I think there might be a extra pair of pajamas in your size in Rainbow’s bedroom closet.”

Twilight nodded then sighed as she looked at the two of them saying to both of them.

“Alright how about we go back to the kitchen and order the food then we can all sit down and talk about Sunset’s funeral.”

The three of them headed out of the spare bedroom and back into the kitchen. Fluttershy picked up the phone off the floor where it had been left when she and Rainbow both went to the hospital earlier that day.  Press a few buttons on it she dialed up a local pizza delivery store. After getting off the phone and hanging it back up on the wall Fluttershy and Rainbow both sat down at the kitchen table. Twilight pulled out a chair and sat down as well. Fluttershy held Rainbows hand in her own and looked at Twilight as she asked her.

“Twilight I was wondering what did you and Celestia talk about when you both said your private goodbyes to Sunset?”

Twilight looked down then back up at Fluttershy as she replied to her.

“We talked about how to honor Sunset with a funeral. Celestia also told me she wants this person who ever he is dead for this. I did manage to talk her out of it. She is hurting you guys as are we all. But, taking a like when one life has already been taken won’t bring Sunset back. All it will do is cause more pain and anger. I didn’t want that for Celestia or for any of of you. She told me how funeral work here. Surprisingly they are similar to ours. We have flowers placed near the casket and have a priest say words of joy and love just as you do here. But, that is where it similarity ends.”

Rainbow looked at Twilight as tears came down her face saying to her sternly.

“Let’s not talk about this any more Twilight I don’t want to picture that in mind when I am sleeping tonight. I would rather talk about the good times we all had with her not about her being gone.”

Twilight lowered her head and softly squeaked out as she caught Rainbows cold dead stare at her.

“Ok I understand.”

Rainbow got up from her chair when the doorbell rang as did Fluttershy. They both headed down stairs and a few minutes later came back with three boxes of pizza and three large sodas in their arms. Rainbow was carrying the soda in a plastic bag back into the kitchen. When she got into the kitchen she set it down on the kitchen counter then slowly opened the drawer where she had placed the photos of Sunset and all the girls in. Taking out the pile of photos she placed those onto the table and walked away from Twilight who watched her go as tears fell from Rainbow's cheeks. Rainbow walked into her bedroom shut the door and slid down against the door with her back up against the wooden door. Fluttershy was about to go after her when Twilight said to her.

“Let her go Fluttershy she needs to alone right now. I think Rainbow is really hurting more so than any of us right now.”

Fluttershy looked at Twilight who had gotten up from the table and started to open up the cupboards looking for a plate for her pizza. Fluttershy saw this and sighed then helped Twilight find a plate as she said to her.

“You don’t really know how bad Rainbow is hurting right now do you Twilight?”

Twilight looked down and said to her in reply as she placed two pieces of her pizza onto the plate that Fluttershy handed to her.

“No, I don’t but, I do know she needs some alone time and I intend to give her that.”

Fluttershy looked at her then said to her softly.

“Uh, shouldn’t you have gone back to Equestria and told your Celestia and Luna what happened to Sunset I mean I am sure they both would want to know about this.”

Twilight set her pizza down her plate then chewed on the piece she had bitten off, swallowed and said to Fluttershy.

“Yes I more than likely should do that but, I won’t because I want this person to be brought to justice. If I go home now and tell both Luna and Celestia about this it will mean that they both will come here and it could result in this person being killed. Like I said taking a life when one life has already been taken doesn’t solve anything. As kind and loving as those two are they both would want this person dead for this. I however want this harpy in the city’s dungeon for this. Now tell me Fluttershy what happened to Rainbow that would cause her to look so coldly at me as if she wasn’t even Rainbow any more?”

Fluttershy lowered her head then said to Twilight.

“She was raped the same way that Sunset was raped by the same person that did this to Sunset.”

“I see, Sunsets funeral will be held according to Celestia that is in two days. I would suggest we all get some sleep then in the morning you and I and Rainbow if she is willing can go to the store and pick up some clothing for me. That is if your offer is still standing. If Celestia and Luna are willing I am going to use the next two days to help find this person. I don’t know how I just want to help is all.”

Fluttershy nodded to Twilight and the two of them spent the rest of the time eating there food and drinking their soda in silence. Fluttershy got up from the table then headed to Rainbows bed room knocked on the door when Rainbow didn’t answer she tried the door handle. Opening the door she found Rainbow in bed asleep holding a photo of her, Sunset and Fluttershy all at the beach together. Rainbow had cried herself to sleep. Fluttershy gently took the photo from Rainbows hands and placed it onto a nightstand next to Rainbows bed. Then climbed into bed next to her draping her arm over Rainbows shoulder and gently placing her hand over Rainbows heart.  Twilight stayed up for a few more hours looking at the photos of Sunset and her friends. Wishing she had spent more time with Sunset. There was a real sense of warmth and love in each of the photo’s that Twilight was looking at. As she set down the pile of photos then headed to bed herself she heard Fluttershy whisper out to Rainbow as she walked by their bedroom door.

“Don’t worry Rainbow Twilight will help us find this monster. I am sure we will have him in jail soon for this.”

Twilight closed her eyes then went into the guest sleeping room closed the door and slid down against the door with her back up against it. She pulled her legs up close to her chest and started to cry. As she cried she thought to herself.

“Why didn’t I spend more time with her? I should have told her how I felt about her. I should have been here.”

Twilight remained on the floor throughout the rest of the night as she hugged herself she eventually fell asleep. While Rainbow and Fluttershy both slept soundly together in Rainbow’s room. Celestia back at her home also slept soundly on her couch as Luna her sister slept in her bed with the door open in case her sister needed anything. Rainbow back at her home rolled over and pulled Fluttershy into a tight embrace as she took in Fluttershy’s warmth and softness of her body. Every one in both homes slept soundly that night each remembering Sunset in their dreams or in their own way.
