Chapter 15.

Fluttershy dreams of Sunset.

Twilight had gone back to Rainbows home in a taxi that Fluttershy had called for her. And had given the driver forty dollars to safely take her to Rainbows home. Fluttershy also called a taxi for herself and had just made her way home as well. As she got out of the taxi and paid the driver she thought to herself that Rainbow would more than likely be at home and was wanting to be left alone. Fluttershy didn’t bother to call Rainbow to confirm if she was indeed at home or not. She felt too tired and worn out by the day's events to bother with calling Rainbow. Getting inside her house she found her mother had left a note for her on the foyer closet door. After reading the note her mother had left her Fluttershy headed upstairs. Then went into her bedroom where she laid down on her bed and soon fell asleep. Fluttershy woke up an hour latter to a soft voice calling out to her.

“Fluttershy wake up.”

Fluttershy opened her eyes and while looking around she saw Sunset standing in front of her smiling warmly to her a she said to her.

“Hey Fluttershy you're up, we need to talk.”

Fluttershy blinked a few times as she stared at Sunset with her mouth hanging open as Sunset moved to her bed and sat down next to her. Saying to her softly.

“Do you remember when I was at the animal shelter with you? I told you that day that if you ever really needed a true friend I would be there for you no matter what.”

Fluttershy nodded her head to Sunset then looked around her room as a car's lights flashed in through her window Sunset disappeared then reappeared. Fluttershy looked back to see if Sunset was still there when she saw she was she smiled although be it nervously to Sunset. Saying to her as she looked at her with bewilderment in her eyes as Sunset just stared back at her.

“How can you be here Sunset? I mean we all saw your coffin lowered into your grave this morning so how can you be here now?”

Sunset smiled again saying to Fluttershy as she got up off the bed and looked at her.

“I am here because you wanted me to be here silly. Besides I like it here it is rather peaceful here.”

Fluttershy looked down at the floor of her bedroom as she heard Sunset say to her as she walked over to Fluttershy’s book shelf located at the other end of her room.

“Hey I remember when I gave you this book, you got so excited that day I think it was the only time I actually saw you come out of your nervous shell. You had such a big grin on your face as you read the book while I sat next to you do you remember that Fluttershy?”

Fluttershy looked up and saw that Sunset was pointing to a black leather bound book with gold letters on it. The book was titled ‘The bunny and the enchanted carrot’ as Fluttershy looked at Sunset then at the book another car’s lights flashed through her window and again Sunset disappeared and reappeared. Fluttershy smiled warmly as she recalled what Sunset had told her about the book tears could be felt trickling down her cheeks as Sunset turned to face Fluttershy she said to her.

“Hey there is no need to cry Fluttershy I will always be right here for you.”

Fluttershy nodded then got out of bed and walked over to her book shelf standing next to Sunset she said to her gently.

“I miss you, we all miss you none more than Rainbow or Celestia they both want you home safe and sound.”

Looking down Sunset half smiled as she returned her gaze to Fluttershy she said to her softly.

“I can’t go home Fluttershy, let's uh, not talk about that OK? I want to talk about the happy times we had together. Like when you and I first gave Angel bunny a bath do remember when I got soaking wet from trying to catch him and he just stood there wiggling his little pink nose at me?”

“I remember” Fluttershy replied as she walked back to her bed then sat back down patting the right side of it.

Sunset nodded and walked over then sat down next to her saying as she looked at Fluttershy and she at her.

“I loved hearing your voice when you sang last summer at the ‘summer song festival’ Fluttershy you had the most beautiful voice ever.”

Fluttershy blushed at the compliment then closed her eyes and slowly reopened them asking Sunset as she stared peacefully back at her.

“Why are you here?”

Sunset looked down then slowly got off of Fluttershy’s bed saying to her as she walked back over to her bookshelf.

“I...I don’t understand Fluttershy are you asking me to leave?”

Fluttershy looked away as she said to Sunset who turned around and looked back at her with eyes filled with sadness.

“No I am not asking you to leave Sunset I am really happy that you're here with me. But, I would like to know how this is possible and why you are here?”

Sunset came back over to Fluttershy’s bed sat down then looked down at the floor as she sighed. Fluttershy scooted over to her and laid a gentle hand onto Sunsets shoulder. Sunsets shoulder felt cold and icy as if she had been out in a long winter storm for four hours without any clothing on. Sunset said to her as she watched Fluttershy remove her hand from her shoulder and back away from her in fright.

“I can’t rest Fluttershy, the man that did this to me that, took my life from me is still out there. I can’t rest until he is brought to justice. I feel so cold and so alone.”

Fluttershy looked at Sunset who was weeping as tears fell down her cheeks Fluttershy began to see a light appearing next to Sunset. Sunset looked to her right and smiled as she said to Fluttershy.

“Dawn is coming it’s time for you to wake up.”

Fluttershy looked at the light as it got brighter and brighter she said to Sunset who stood up and dried her tears.

“I don’t want to wake up I want to stay here with you Sunset. I care about you.”

Sunset smiled as she stepped towards the light saying to Fluttershy who had lost all of her fear of Sunset.

“Maybe I will come to you again in another……”

Fluttershy woke up and sat up straight as an arrow screaming out as her mother came running into her bedroom.

“SUNSET COME BACK PLEASE COME BACK!”

Fluttershy's mother saw how upset her daughter was and sat next to her then pulled her daughter into a tight hug as Fluttershy said to her as she cried into her mother's shoulders.

“Ma’ma it isn’t far Sunset should be with us. I miss her so much.”

“I know honey, I know; the lost of one that you cared about is never far and this will be with you for a very long time. Shhh honey I am here for you now. Sunset is in a better place right now honey.” Fluttershy’s mother said as she soothed her daughter.

Sniffing hard Fluttershy remained in her mother's arms for twenty minutes while her mother calmed her down. Once Fluttershy had cried herself dry her mother helped her daughter out of bed and started going through daughters dresser setting some clothing out onto her bed. Fluttershy took these then headed into the bathroom located at the opposite end of the hallway where her room was located. Fluttershy took a shower got dressed then headed into the kitchen and made some breakfast for herself and took out her phone to call Rainbow Dash. As she was about to call her girlfriend Fluttershy thought to herself.

“Rainbow will more than likely think I am just being silly when I tell her about my dreaming of Sunset. Besides she doesn’t need me dumping my issues on her right now.”

Fluttershy put away her phone then ate her breakfast then cleaned up and headed downstairs and outside. The sun felt warm and good on her skin as she looked up into the big blue sky above her she said to herself hoping no one else would hear her.

“I don’t if what I saw last night was a dream or not Sunset but, if you're up there I want you to know I will help bring you peace. I will do all that I can to help give you the rest and peace you need. I swear it.”

Fluttershy walked off towards the school taking out her phone she called Principal Celestia. When Celestia answered Fluttershy gulped hard then said to her.

“Principal Celestia, It’s Fluttershy, we…..uh, we need to talk.”

Fluttershy waited for Celestia to reply for over ten minutes before her principal said to her.

“Alright where should I pick you up Fluttershy?”

Fluttershy thought for minute then said to her.

“Meet me at the school.”

Fluttershy hung up her phone and headed to the school even though she knew what she was about to do would more than likely end her friendship with Twilight. In her heart she felt it was the right thing to do. Sunset needed to be at peace and Fluttershy felt in her heart that the only way to help with that was to let the other Celestia know what happened to Sunset. Getting to the school Fluttershy looked around when she didn’t see Principal Celestia’s car out front she took a seat on the front steps leading up to the school’s front doors. And waited for Celestia to show up.  While she was waiting she took out her phone then called Twilight. Twilight answered Rainbows main house phone with a gasping breath and Fluttershy asked Twilight as she answered the phone.

“Twilight what's wrong you sound as if you had a nightmare?”
