Vengeance

Chapter Two.

              Arriving at the hospital.

Rainbow dash was the first of Sunsets friends to arrive at the hospital, parking her red and organ volvo s.forty. She made her way from the parking lot into the hospital lobby where she went straight to the receptions desk to ask for Luna and Celestia. As she approached the desk the nurse behind stopped filing her nails and looked at her with an expectant look as if she was asking yet not saying aloud.

“What do you want?”

“Excuse me can you tell me if a young woman named Sunset Shimmer McSun was brought in today?” Rainbow asked as she stared at the woman behind the desk.

The nurse did not immediately reply and just as Rainbow was about say something else she heard a voice from behind her.

“Rainbow what is going on?”

Rainbow turned to see who it was that was talking to her,  Rainbow saw that it was Rarity one of her friends and Sunset’s as well. Yet Rarity was someone that Rainbow Dash really couldn’t understand how Rarity could be Sunset’s friend. Seeing as how she was almost always running around buying stuff for her clothing shop and not once paid much attention to Sunset’s needs or concerns. Looking at her with stern eyes and a cold expression on her face Rainbow folded her arms across her chest and coldly said to her.

“What are you doing here?” Rainbow said to Rarity coldly as she stared at her.

“I got a call from Luna saying that Sunset was hurt and that she is in the hospital I came right away. Why are you so upset with me there is no reason to be like this?” Asked Rarity in a shocked tone from Rainbows cold dark tone.

“You know damn well why I am so protective of Sunset!” Rainbow Dash snapped back at Rarity angrily.

Rarity in as a much of a calm manner as she could muster towards Rainbows attitude towards her Rarity folded her arms over her chest then replied to Rainbow

“Look what went down between me and Sunset was and IS between me and her and I will fucking thank you to not bring that up here, not when she needs us to be there for her.” Rarity all but snarled back at Rainbow.

As Rainbow stepped forward into a protective stance and readied herself for what she thought was going to be a fist fight with Rarity. A very meek yet  soothingly calm voice came from her right which caught both woman off guard when they each heard the voice say to them.

“Girls is Sunset alright?” Asked the voice from Rainbows right

Both women turned to see it who it was that just spoke to them. The voice belonged to a young Pink haired girl that stood about four feet five inches tall and had on a black T-shirt with blue jeans and brown leather boots. It was Fluttershy who had just spoken to them. As the three of them stood there staring at each other no one seemed to notice or if they did they paid no attention to it. That the last of Sunsets friends were just now entering the hospital lobby. They were Pinkie Pie, and Applejack upon seeing that a fight was more than likely to break out with Rainbow and Rarity Applejack rushed over to the three and stepped in between the two arguing girls.

“WHOA! Girls I know you all love and care about Sunset but fighting isn’t going to help her or us at this moment. We all need to be strong for her and to be able to work together not fight with each other besides if you two don’t simmer down their going to ask us to leave.” Applejack said as she slid in between Rarity and Rainbow Dash.

The two said nothing to Applejack or Fluttershy for that matter. Both Rainbow and Rarity just glared at each other while Fluttershy looked on with sadness in her eyes. Seeing that Fluttershy was getting upset by her two best friends arguing like a couple of two year olds. Applejack decided to take Fluttershy out of the immediate area saying to her as they left the area to find some seats near the main doors of the lobby.

“Fluttershy I am so sorry you had to see that. I know those two have a past together and that they have not had a good time this past year. But I hope I can keep things on a civil level until we can see Sunset.”

Seating Fluttershy down in a chair Applejack then turned back to the two girls who were still glaring at each other sighing she walked over to them both. Saying as calmly yet sternly as she could to both of them in hopes of getting them to stop their useless childlike behavior.

“You two can either leave or you two can come sit down while I talk to the nurse and see if there is any chance of us seeing Sunset tonight. Although with how you two are acting I am sure they would not allow it. Seeing as how she needs calm, kind, generous friends not a bunch of two years at her bedside right now.” Applejack said as she approached Rainbow and Rarity who remained glaring at each other.

Upon hearing these harsh yet very truthful words both Rainbow and Rarity became very quiet looking at each other with understanding and tears in their eyes. Seeing that her friends little spat was about concluded Applejack led each of them to their own seats making sure to keep them separate for the time being while she went to talk to the repctionsinst.

“Excuse me ma’am I am so sorry you had to either hear let alone see that little umm sight with my friends. We are all each of us worried about Sunset and I was wondering if any of us can go see her now?” Applejack asked as she looked at the nurse behind the desk in front of her.

The nurse looked at her then at the three seated on the chairs that adorned the lobby room. She stared at Julie for the longest moment then after for what seemed like an entry spoke in the softest most kindest voice that Julie had ever heard.

“Think nothing of it deary I have seen far worse than that in my years working here. However I am very sorry miss. But hospital visiting hours are from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. Monday through Saturday seeing as how you are not her family. I can not say anything further on the subject do you understand? If how ever one of the family members or even both of the family members wants to sign you in as a visitor then you may go see your friend until then I am not able to do anything about this.”

Applejack lowered her head nodded her understanding to the nurse and returned to her friends who at this time were all staring at her with blank looks on their faces. The doors swung open and Luna came out clearly she had been crying when she saw the girls she walked over to them and gave them each a big hug then said to them.

“Thank you all for coming both my sister and I want you all to know how much this means to us that you are all here for Sunset.” Luna said as she hugged each girl in turn while tears ran down her cheeks.

“Hey she is our friend hell to us she is a sister! You think we would just sit at home and not actually come here to be with her.” Replied Rainbow Dash after she ended her hug with Luna.

“Yeah! But we can’t see her the hospital staff won’t allow anyone other than family to see her at this moment.” Applejack said as she received a hug from Luna then ended it as they both heard Fluttershy say.

“I think we need to at least try to somehow convince them to let us see her don’t you think?” Fluttershy said  trying desperately to hold back the tears that were welling up in her eyes.

Rainbow placed a reassuring hand on onto Fluttershy's left shoulder and smiled warmly to her the silence that had overcome the small group was broken when Applejack spoke up saying.

“Luna can you sign us in so that we can go see our sister, our friend, please she needs us to be there with her?” Applejack said as she looked at Luna then at each of her friends.

Paula looked at her then turned her gaze to Rainbow and said to her firmly.

“I will fully understand if you do not want to see Sunset it…...it isn’t good and I am not willing to.”

Her voice trailed off as if she was trying to find the right words for this without telling the others what had happened to Rainbow when she was 12 years old. Or how she became unable to use her right arm. As if she fully understood Rainbow simply nodded and walked back to her seat to wait for the others while they all went into see Sunset. As she walked back to her seat she felt a slight tug on her arm turning around Rainbow saw it was Rarity that was tugging on her arm. Looking into Rarity's face made Rainbow Dash recoil from fright. Her harsh words fell on her ears like a load of bricks, harsh though her words were to take they were still truthful words at the very least.

“WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING NOT SEEING THE WOMAN THAT DAMN NEAR RAISED YOU HERSELF!?! Rarity spat at Rainbow Dash who was cowering in fear of her friend at the mere sight of her angry scowl.

“You don’t….”Rainbow began but was cut off when Rarity spat back to her angrily.

“You are acting like a spoiled child by not going in there to see if Sunset is okay. Whatever your reason is Rainbow Dash! it I can I assure you will not measure up to not giving a shit about your friend.” Rarity said harshly to Rainbow as she looked into the blue skinned athletes eyes with hate pouring out of her own eyes towards Rainbow.

Rainbow said nothing to Rarity as she pulled her arm out from Rarity's hand and walked back over to her seat. Rarity breathing heavily said nothing more to Rainbow who was sitting down in her chair crying. She knew that getting into another argument with the sobbing girl would not do her or Rainbow any good. Luna walked over to the receptions desk and without saying anything sighed each of Sunset’s friends in as visitors. Her thoughts weighing very heavy on her heart as she made the last of the pen strokes and started to lead the group to Sunset’s room.

“I don’t understand why this is happening to us? I want my niece home safe and sound not?” Luna thought to herself as she set down the pen then led the group towards Sunset’s room.

Luna slowly began to stop thinking of things that would not help and tried to concentrate on the present. Right now Sunset needed her to be strong not weakened by petty concerns such as the ones going through her mind.

Rainbow remained behind while the rest of the group all headed into the hallway and followed Luna to Sunsets room. As the doors closed Rainbow looked at her scar on her right arm and whispered while running a tender finger over it.

“Please god don’t let it be him. Don’t let what happened to me be what happened to Sunset.” Rainbow whispered to herself as she ran her finger up and down on her scared right arm.

Luna led the small group of friends to Sunsets room as she thought to herself.

“I know they all want Rainbow to be in here with us right now but that can not be allowed.” Luna thought to herself.

As the group walked up to Sunsets room each in turn let out a small gasp of shock and horror at the sight of their fallen friend. Celestia sat next to Sunset holding her daughter's hand in her own and could be heard crying. Luna balled her right hand hand into a tight fist as she slowly opened the door for the group to enter and as each one of them all in turn walked in Celestia looked up. Seeing that Sunsets friends were there to see her daughter she dried her tears and said to them.

“Thank you all for coming.”
