Vengeance

Chapter Three:

Seeing Sunset.

Sunset lay in her bed as machines pumped air into her lungs and bleeped and beeped out their signals. Principal Celestia went back to holding Sunset’s hand in her own when Luna and the girls walked in. Everyone came into the room except Rainbow Dash who had opted to stay behind in the lobby. As each of them came into the room they all looked so scared and frightened that it was as if small children where there and not actual full sized teenagers. Celestia said nothing to them as they each took a spot around Jennifer's bedside and each looked at her with eyes full of anger and sadness at what was done to their friend. Luna was the first to break the uneasy silence that had befallen the small group of friends in the dimly lit room.

“I want you girls to know that the police are doing all they can to find the person or persons that are responsible for this outrage.” Luna said as she heard Rarity say to her in response.

“How do you know that the police are doing all that they can do find the person or people that did this to Sunset? Did you speak to them before you came out here is that why you were crying?” asked Rarity as she stepped into the room.

Luna turned to her with anger in her eyes and sadness in her voice as she spoke to Rarity.

“Yes I did speak to them I am assuming you saw them walk into the hospital shortly after you all arrived. They gave us some information that I can not at this time share with you and your friends but rest assured it is going to help Sunset…...somehow it will help her!” Luna almost growled out to Rarity who looked away from embarrassment at her earlier question.

The police had indeed been there as the girls were all gathering in the lobby earlier that night. It was Fluttershy that noticed them first and it was her that actually wondered what was really going on. But she dared not say this to Luna at the time being for fear of it going badly for her. So instead she kept silent and allowed the others to say what they wanted if anything at all on the subject.

“Do you think the people or person that did this will be caught and ACTUALLY brought to justice for this?” Pinkie asked as she approached Sunset's bedside laying a shaking yet gentle hand on her shoulder.

“I don’t know. All we can do now is put our faith in the law and hope that the person or people that did this will be caught and tried for it.” Luna said as she looked at her niece then at Pinkie.

Celestia still saying nothing to them while they talked seemed to be worlds if not a whole universe away from them. She had all but retreated back into her mind from all that was happening. Celestia was now doing nothing more than sitting there listening to what was in her mind a very dull and pointless conversation being played out in front of her.

“I can not believe any one could be so cruel as to do something so horrid as this to another living person.” Rarity said as she got over her embarrassment and looked at Sunset fully wanting to rip the eyes out of whoever did this to her friend.

“I know I will sleep safer at night knowing this son of a bitch is off the streets. How soon till you know if she is going to wake up?” Ask Applejack as she rested a hand on her friend's shoulder in a gesture of reassurance.

“We don’t know how long it will be before my daughter can or even will wake up.” Principal Celestia finally spoke up after she heard Applejack ask her question.

“There is more that you need to hear yet I am not sure if you all should hear it or not.” Luna said as she looked at her sister then at the group of friends standing in Sunsets room.

“I don’t know if you all should or shouldn’t be told this.” Celestia continued as she was slowly standing up from her chair and letting go of Sunsets hand.

“And that would be what exactly?” Asked Rarity now  looking at Principal Celestia directly in the eyes.

“Like my sister has already told you all Rarity we don’t know if we should tell any of you what has actually happened today!” Luna said grimly to Rarity as she stared at her coldly half expecting her to recoil at the harsh words.

“Sunset was raped.” Celestia said as she looked at the group who in turn all looked shocked to hear of this.

Rarity was about to say something when Luna cut her off by saying to her harshly.

“Ms. Belle if you can not find it within yourself to be civil about this please leave now.” Luna said as she looked at Rarity who had a look of pure rage on her face.

Luna didn’t want Rarity to make a scene and was pleased when she saw Rarity turn around and walk out the door rather than picking a fight about this. Each of the girls did the same thing. They each left without saying a word. One could have cut the tension in the air with a knife and still not get a proper slice of it with how bad things were felt within Sunsets room. Luna looked at her sister who was at this time fully standing up and lightly kissing her daughter on the head saying to her.

“Mama will be back in a few minutes honey I promise you this.” Celestia said as she ended her kiss to her daughter's forehead.

The only reply she got was the sound of the air pump as it bleeped out another round of air for Sunsets lungs to take in. As she was about to leave she turned to her sister and said angrily yet very calmly to her as she stared into her sister's eyes.

“I want this bastards head for this sister! I want this bastard to die for this shit that has befallen my daughter.” Celestia said as she walked past her sister then out into the hallway.

Luna said nothing as she watched her sister walk out into the hallway. Luna then turned and laid a hand onto her niece's shoulder and kissed her lightly on the head. Luna then slowly walked out of the room and joined her sister in the hallway. The four girls were already walking down the hallway each wondering how they could help their fallen friend and if the police would actually do something about this. Luna and her sister also began to walk down the hallway back to the lobby each in turn hoping that Sunset would wake up soon and begin the process to recovery. Upon getting to the lobby and meeting up with Rainbow Dash who was sitting in her chair. Luna seeing that Rainbow had all but cried her eyes out from what Rarity had said to her and what had befallen her friend Sunset. Luna offered the distraught teen a ride home. Rainbow was too upset to say no and shook her head instead in reply to this. Rainbow slowly followed each of the group out into the parking lot as they prepared to leave. Stopping by her sister's car first Luna popped the trunk then reached inside the trunk and took out a small duffel bag. Luna handed this to her sister. Celestia took the bag and headed back inside without a word to anyone. Applejack was about to follow her when she was stopped by Luna who had laid a hand on her shoulder.

“Let her go she needs to be with her daughter and I need to get you girls home.” Luna said as she looked at Applejack who clearly wanted to go after her Principal.

“Alright I guess you are right” Applejack replied as she turned to leave the hospital.

Luna led Applejack over to her car then opened the side  door for her. It was small car, two doors only. The car was puke lime green and had some showing of wear and tear on it. But, it got Luna to and from the places she needed to go and that is all that really mattered to her. There was enough room for Luna, Applejack and Rainbow to all sit inside the vehicle without getting too cramped. Fluttershy having driven her own car to the hospital waved her goodbyes to her friends sighed then turned to leave.  As she made her way to her own car she thought to herself

“Why did Rainbow not want to be by Sunset’s side at a time like this?” Fluttershy thought to herself as she made her way to her car.

She got into her car started the engine and within a moment was heading away from the hospital. The drive home was tiring to say the least Fluttershy had spent much of the day worrying about her friend. Needless to say she got little sleep latter on that night and due to that when the sun broke over the horizon the next day she was a complete wreck. Her eyes bloodshot from crying all night and from tossing and turning didn’t really help either. Her hair was a disaster that looked more like a rats nest rather than a smoothly combed head of hair. Fluttershy shuffled her way into her bathroom and began to shower so she could head to school. Although she thought to herself while she took her shower

“Should I really head to school today? I am sure that if I called ahead and asked then maybe Principal Sunan would allow me to stay home”. Fluttershy thought to herself as she shut off the water then dressed herself for school.

She quickly pushed that thought out of her mind and as she made her way into the kitchen. Ate a light breakfast then headed out for school knowing that her friends needed her now more than ever. Fluttershy pulled out of the driveway of her home then headed towards school.
