Vengeance:

Chapter 29.

Reading Luna's letter and hiring the new vice principal.

Celestia sat in her office looking out towards the Canterlot High School statue. She missed her sister terribly and wanted her to simply come home, but after reading her letter she knew this would be impossible for Luna to do. A soft knock was heard at her, door as she turned around to face her desk she picked up the letter laying there.

“Come in please.” Celestia said as she picked up Luna’s letter and held it in her hands.

Rainbow walked into the office with her head hung low as she took a seat in front of her principal she looked down at the floor then said to her.

“I understand you wanted to see me Principal Celestia. Does this have anything to do with my mother's lifeless body being found by security out front two days ago with a golf ball sized hole in her head?”

Celestia looked up from the letter she had been reading and sighed then set it back down on her desk and folded her hands together interlocking her fingers. As she looked at Rainbow then took a quick glance back down to the letter in front of her she said to Rainbow.

“I just wanted to let you know Rainbow that what happened to your mother wasn’t your fault. I wanted to let you know also that I have discussed this in length with the school board. We are fully prepared to offer you and Fluttershy as well as your friends any and all help that we can as long as your tenner at this school remains. If you for whatever reason you decide to leave CHS then I will do whatever I can to help you grow into a better person after you leave CHS.”

Rainbow remained silent for a few moments not sure what to say to her principal. Rainbow had started therapy with both a school appointed therapist and a city one as well. Both she and Fluttershy had been attending sessions together as a couple for the past couple of days. Hearing the offer of help from her principal made Rainbow feel good inside because she didn’t really feel so alone with her pain. Rainbow looked up as she said to her principal.

“Thank you very much principal Celestia. I am not sure who else to turn to for help, but it does feel good to know that you will be there for me when I need it.”

Celestia looked down again at the letter and said to Rainbow as she was getting up from her chair in front of her.

“I think you need to take this letter, you could use it as a means to understand why my sister has done what she did. Now I have another appointment that I must attend to.”

“Thank you for the letter I’ll read it on my lunch break to my friends if that is OK with you that is?” Rainbow replied as she stood up and took the letter from Principal Celestia.

Celestia nodded then stood up from her desk and ushered Rainbow out of her office and shut the door. Returning to her desk she took out of her purse another letter that her sister had left her and opened that one up. The letter that she had given to Rainbow was one that Celestia had written herself in a attempt to give clarity to Rainbow for Luna's actions. Sitting back down at her desk she began to read the letter that her sister had left her as tears came to her eyes. Celestia read.

“My sister, I leave you this as a declaration of intent. So you and no one else shall be confused.

One:

Ergo Si vis pacem para bellum:

Latin,

My boot camp sergeant made those in my unit recite this as if it were a sunday church prayer.

Ergo Si vis pacem para bellum:

If you want peace then prepare for war

Two:

My niece, Sunset Shimmer Mcsun, Rainbow Dash and I never asked for or wanted to have gone through what happened to us. There for in certain and extreme situations the law is and shall become inadequate. In order to fully bring justice to its inadequacy it becomes necessary to act outside the law. To go beyond, above and around it in order to fully pursue natural vengeance. This is not justice, justice is not a valid motive for what must be done. The word justice is nothing more than an emotional response to a situation that is not in your control. No not justice my sister it is punishment, it is absolute vengeance.

Three:

Your sister Luna is dead she died in the explosion that rocked the city's police department.

Four:

Those that do evil to others will fully come to know my name well. The psychos, the killers, the rapist, the murders, the child pedophiles. They will all come to know and fear me. They will whisper my name in dark corners of the city's underbelly. They will fear my fast and swift retribution. I love you Tia but, I can no longer bear my last name with pride or with honor. Sunset’s death and rape brought home to me that people like Rainbows mother who think they are above the law must be dealt with and fully dealt with in such a way that it shows vengeance and not justice. The law is completely inadequate to deal with people like Rainbow’s mother. There for sister I shall be there to dispense full and unyielding unbiased natural vengeance to those that are evil and must be taken out.

Call me Nightmare Moon.

Goodbye my sister I love you.”

Celestia set the letter down on her desk just as she had done to the one that she had given to Rainbow. As she wiped away her tears a knock was heard at her door. Looking up Celestia saw that it was her secretary Flower Shine at her door with a young woman standing behind her. Looking to Flower Shine, Principal Celestia sighed then said to her secretary gently as she put away the letter sitting on her desk.

“Thank you Flower Shine that will be all.”

Flower Shine nodded then walked away leaving Principal Celestia and her guest alone in her office. Looking at her guest Principal Celestia pulled out the chair in front of her desk then gestured for her guest to take a seat saying to her as she sat back down at her desk.

“I hope you can help the students here, they are dealing with the lose of one of their own. I am not sure what to tell you about them other than that they will all need your help and as much of it as you can give them.”

The young woman nodded to Principal Celestia saying to her gently as she pushed her coke bottle glasses back up onto her face. The young woman looked to principal Celestia as she readjusted her skirt and straighten out her shirt. Principal Celestia looked down at her desk then back up as she said to her guest.

“As of today you have the job that is if you want it. I will show you where you will be working then I will simply let you settle in. After that I do not want to be disturb unless you need something. Like the students before me I too am dealing with the loss of someone very special and close to me. So let me show you where you will be working then I’ll leave you to it.”

Celestia got up walked over to her office door and opened it then led the young woman out of the office and down the hallway. Opening Luna’s old office she looked around and saw that she had forgotten to take a photo of her and sister off of the desk that sat in front of her and her guest. Walking over to the picture she picked it up and then turned to face her guest as she said to her.

“Alright this is where you will be working for now on. Please let Flower Shine know if there is anything you need or would like her to get for you.”

Principal Celestia sighed then walked back towards her office stopping just short of the hallway leading back to her office. She looked over her shoulder and said to the young woman behind her.

“Chrysalis I know you served with my sister in war I don’t care about that about any of that. I want to make myself clear that you are here because my sister put in a very good word for you and someone on the school board seems to think that you are capable of doing this job. If I find out otherwise you will regretfully coming here. Now I have other matters to attend to make yourself at home in office that I have given you. But, I warn you fully do not toy with me when it comes to the students and their safety.”

Celestia walked away leaving Chrysalis to make herself at home in Luna’s old office. Setting down her bag on Luna’s old desk she took out her cell phone and called Luna then placed the phone to her ear as Luna said to her over the phone.

“I see my sister has given you my old office Chrysalis. I am glad that you are there to help the students deal with Sunset’s death. Please take care of them they were like family to her. I know my sister can be a bit well….strict at times but, that is only because she cares deeply for the students that she is trying to help. Take care of yourself Chrysalis I will hopefully see you again some day. Oh, before I go watch out for Rainbow Dash that one does have a bit of a temper on her. She is going to need your guidance more now than ever.”

Chrysalis hung up the phone turned to face a window in the office raised the blinds of the window and saw Luna standing at a bus stop across the street. Luna smiled as a bus drove by then she was gone. Chrysalis also smiled as she lowered the blinds then set about setting up her new office and getting ready to help those that came to her. Luna had dropped her phone onto the bench that was located across the street where she had been standing watching through a pair of binoculars her sister speaking to Chrysalis and showing Chrysalis her new office. Celestia had not noticed Luna standing across the street when she had looked out her own window because Luna knew her sister’s habits all too well. Luna knew what time her sister would look out the window in her office and prior to watching Chrysalis showing up at CHS had remained out of sight until her friend was inside the school. As Rainbow walked into the lunch room and found her four friends sitting at their normal table she said to them as she sat down.

“Hey guys I have something that I would like to read to each of you, uh if that is alright with you all today that is.”

Everyone looked at Rainbow and Fluttershy took Rainbow by the hand saying to her as she looked at Rainbow and she back at her.

“Of course it would be OK for you read to us honey.”
