Weather or Not
Chapter 1
Previous Chapter"MACKS"
As I am snapped awake by the sudden noise to my left, I turn to my verbal attacker. I am greeted by the sound of one of my crew mates on the intercom, a young voice which could only be Davids, with what seems to be a hint of panic in his voice. Obviously something must be very important for him wake me from my nap. I was trying regain some sleep time from last night, for I spent all night awake reading books on a variety of subjects.
"I hope theres a very good reason you woke me, I was having a very nice dream" I mutter lazily, rubbing my eyes as I speak. Feeling for my pocket watch around my desk, I spot brass colored blob out of the corner of my eye. I reach for it and click the button on top, checking the time. 11:03 AM, not my usual time of rising. I look towards the curtained porthole above my bed and its just as dark as night out, puzzling me further.
"Macks, we got a MAJOR problem!" David's voice in a panicked tone.
"Theres something wrong with the antenna outside, the radios not working and a plasma storm is coming really fast!" His panic quickly turning to worry.
"Lemme guess, you need me to fix it?" I ask in a half asleep grumble as I stumble about looking for my socks. As I move towards my curtained window, I sweep aside the drapes to see probably the most horrifyingly beautiful storm I have ever laid eyes upon on the horizon, bolts of emerald green lightning flashing in the distance.
"Well, I don't got much time, do I?" I settle my hand on the desk and give him an assuring tone. "Dont worry, I'll get it fixed" I say confidently, heading to my closet to aquire my necessary items to venture outside.
After pulling on my leather coat, I scour the airlock for my Zephyr Pack. In case I fall off the ship (which rarely happens, but safety first) it will deploy wings, allowing flight. I would also need my Zip Anchor, a sort of grappling hook included in standard raider gear, very useful for getting on stolen ships. Pulling on my goggles, I head to the door leading outside, prepared for the challenge ahead.
