I was currently getting out of the shower after a long day at the day court. Sometimes I wonder why I put up with all the nobles. Don’t get me wrong I love my little ponies, but sometimes the nobles can come in the day court come in for stupidest reasons. Just today my nephew in name prince blue blood came in requesting that I give him the rights to fashion industry. I have no idea why but I declined for obvious reasons. Plus I know that rarity would never forgive me.

I am just glad this day is over so I can have sometime to myself. I then got dried off and walked toward my bed until I saw something on my balcony. I got a closer look and my eyes widened.

“Hello Celestia. It’s been a long time.”

Standing right there on my balcony was Queen Chrysalis herself not even looking at me as she is staring at the view of canterlot. She didn’t look like from the last time I saw her. She looks like a wreck. Her hair was a mess; she had few extra holes in her wings, one of her eyes was almost swollen shut, and there were bandages wrapped around her torso.

“Chrysalis! What is the meaning of this?!”

“I’m just getting one last look before I do what I am about to do.”

I then got in a fighting stance ready for whatever attack or trap she has for me. She won’t stop me a second time.

“And what might that be?”

She then turns to face me with a neutral expression and walked ever so slowly to me and stopped when we were face. She then takes off her crown and puts it on the ground and stomps on and smashes it to pieces. She then sat down and put both of her front hooves out toward me.

“I hereby terminate my position as queen of the changelings and turn myself over to you Princess Celestia and I am now at your mercy.”

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. This was the last thing I would expect especially chrysalis of all ponies. This had to be some trick of sorts. I know for a fact that she is a brilliant strategist and a master manipulator. I then kept my usual voice but still made it stern to show my hidden anger

“Do you take me for a fool?”

“Do you really want my honest answer?”

“This is clearly some form of trap.”

“It’s not a trap. I can assure you.”

“Why should I believe you?”

“You don’t have to. I don’t care anymore.”

“Even if you really are trying to turn yourself in-“

“Which I am.” She interrupted.

“What could possibly drive you to do this?”

“I have my reasons.”

“I’m sure you do. Where are your changeling minions?”

“…I don’t want to talk about it.”

Her face was starting to change and it was looking like she was on the break of tears. Is this really the queen that nearly took over equestrian? I kept my stern voice.

“Chrysalis. Where are your changelings?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

“Chrysalis. Where-“

She then had tears coming from her eyes and was filled with rage and sadness.

“THEY ARE ALL DEAD! DON’T YOU GET IT?! I AM THE LAST CHANGELING ALIVE! MY ENTIRE RACE IS DEAD!!!”

She then collapsed onto the floor in crying emotional breakdown. She wouldn’t stop crying. I knew that we haven’t had any changeling activity for a while but I had no idea the situation was so dire. Were all the changelings really all gone?

“Chrysalis. I am deeply sorry about the changelings but can you elaborate on the situation.”

She cried a little longer and did her best to stop and keep herself proper.

“I can try. I guess I should start before the wedding. Changelings and ponies are more alike than you would think. Changelings have their own personality, skills, appearance, and they all had their own identity and everything a pony had and more. The only reason why they all looked the same at the wedding was just their default disguise to use in combat like how all your royal guards mostly look the same. I was their queen and I was just doing what I was born to do and rule over them.

I did consider peace at first but considering the reputation equestria has when it comes to race. It took you over a hundred years for unicorn, Pegasus, and earth pony to get along. Changelings looks alone is scary to ponies so I could tell that but the time you all stopped bickering amongst yourselves you all would have starved to death so the only option I saw left was invasion. I needed to take action before it was too late. So I got my spies to go to equestria and pick up every book on they could get on strategy and manipulation and mastered both until I was ready to attack.

After the blast that cadence made it left me seriously injured as you can see. Unfortunately When I landed it actually broke off my horn. It was my only way to communicate to the rest of my hive. I then decided to walk all the way back to the hive. Even without my horn I know my way back to my hive. I know the badlands like the back of my hoof. Anyway I was expecting all the refugees from the attack their but, when I got their there was no one there. I looked everywhere for anyone. I never found anyone. I then assumed I was the first one there and the others would be back soon. But nobody came.

By the time my horn finally grew back the first thing I did was try to contact anyone on the hive mind. There was no response. I was totally alone. I have no idea what happened to all of them but I knew was I the last Changeling.  When I finally realized the situation it hit me like ton of bricks and I then went through the 5 stages of grief.

If you’re wondering how I haven’t starved yet is cause queen changelings are the only ones that don’t need love to live. The fangs aren’t just for show I am a carnivore. I survived off of the small animals of the land.

Anyway after I went through my grieving I then realized I was a failure of queen. I was the last one alive. I am the reason my changelings are all dead. I killed all my subjects and friends. I then came straight here. I knew I had been charged with major crimes here so I then realized I deserve whatever punishment you give me.”

I never thought I would feel sympathy for chrysalis. Luckily when I use to control the element of honesty it still left my ability to tell a lie. This was real. She just told me how she is the last changeling and she actually truthfully wishes to be given her punishment. There was nothing I could do but stare with wide eyes.

“Now since that is out of the way.”

She then goes up back to her previous position of surrendering herself.

“I would like to serve out my sentence.”
