Chapters Journal Entry: My name is Angel Wings. I am currently 21 and...I am an alicorn. Not just any alicorn either. I am a natural born alicorn. Granddaughter of Cadence and Shining Armor. Now before y'all freak and ask "how this came to be" I don't know... actually nopony knows. Celestia and Luna are the only other natural born alicorns around and never seen an alicorn birth just like the rest of Equestria. Twilight did research on it and found a journal from the Royal Sisters parents hidden among the many books. It mentioned briefly something about expected foals being chosen to be next to the throne and that it only happened if the natural alicorns in existence weren't going to have a foal. But Twilight said pages seemed to be missing and the ones there were blurred so she could be mistaken. You might be asking now why my mom/dad isn't one. Twilight said something about it skipping a generation but sounded unsure.
My mom (Cadence's daughter) is an unicorn named Aura Light. She makes important speeches all over Equestria. My dad, Stormy Blitz, was a Wonderbolt but quit to be a royal guard. That's how he met my mom. He sadly died in the Battle of Equestria (I was only 1..maybe 2 at the time.) The Battle of Equestria was a dark battle where all of Equestria's worse villains teamed up to take over and destroy the Mane 6. They wanted vengeance considering the mane 6 defeated them and their plans to rule the lands. Many guards who fought in the battle died, and many more ponies were injured. The villains ended up retreating and nopony knows where they are now. I don't know many details past that. Nopony wants to talk about it yet, too soon they say.
My family worries the attack will happen again because the villains retreated and nopony knows where they went or if they are still together or split off. A search party was sent out but nothing was found.
Being the first natural alicorn in countless moons means I'm a big target for foalnapping. Which means I am on constant guard. I can't leave the castle grounds alone...or I should say i'm not allowed to. I got into a habit of sneaking out on my own (did I mention my hate of having little freedom?)
Anyway this went on until I turned 21. Apparently my grandparents always knew I went off on my own because they confronted me on it saying if I wanted to go out I had to have my guard with me. And with that I was given my own personal body guard (yay me *rolls eyes*.) His name...Cosmic Blast, and he and I did NOT get along.
Thankfully over my time sneaking out I had made some friends. Scarlet Rose, a pegasus with a rosy pink coat and scarlet mane and tail, is my closest friend. Her pegasus coltfirend, Twilight Dusk, looks a lot like Twilight though he claims there is no relation. He has a deep purple coat and a dark purple main and tail with light purple streaks. I also made friends with another couple: Sapphire Moon and Silver Sword. Sapphire, a unicorn, has a light violet coat and a sapphire mane. Her coltfiend, also a unicorn, has a light gray coat with a dark silvery mane and tail.
I can always count on they to be there for me. Anyway it is getting late and I must get some sleep.

Angel is NOT powerful at all. Like ANY young she has a LOT to learn! She is NOTHING like Flurry Heart all OP and sh*t. Her magic is at unicorn level and her flight at pegasus. She is in training to be stronger but has a long way to go. (it will also be shone more later on that she hates having alicorn status because of all people/ponies already think about her in a certain way without getting to know her)
Shinning soon left the two to get antiquated after explaining to Angel that Cosmic was top of his class.
Angel took in the guards appearance. He was a pegasus, a head taller than her and had a dark gray, almost black, coat. His mane was white with gray streaks. But the odd thing about him, were his eyes. one eye was a fiery red and the other a cold blue. He stared at her showing little emotion which made Angel uneasy.
Cosmic Blast finally spoke. "So....you are the new princess everypony is talking about." His tone was dry as if he wasn't too impressed. Angel tried to size him up. She was a year older than him and she wasn't about to be looked down on by this guard. "Yes I am Princess Angel Wings, but I go by Angel," Angel stretched out her white wings and puffed out her chest.
Cosmic snorted at her, his eyes still void of emotion. "As a guard I shall refer to you as princess," he said dryly. Angel narrowed her eyes. "Shouldn't you take orders from me, a princess, you being a guard and all?"
He narrowed his eyes as well. "I take orders from your grandfather first, and the royal guard code."
Angel bit back a retort. "Well I'm planning to meet my friends at the bakery, so come on let's go," she said as calmly as she could.
To her surprise he listened and silently followed her to the bakery. There she introduced him to her friends.
"Guys, this is my....new body guard....Cosmic Blast." The group stared at him questioningly but said hi. He replied with a grunting hi back before standing in a guard's stance watching the bakery carefully.
Angel sat down and chatted with her pals who all wished her a happy birthday giving her gifts.
Rose had given her a couple books on and animals and creatures of Equestria and Dusk gave her a gift card to the sweets shop they were at. Sapphire got her a chapter book and Silver got her a necklace with a butterfly charm.
Angel thanked them for the gifts, then using the new gift card, bought everypony drinks and doughnuts. As she chatted with her friends Blast was looking around the place obviously on guard. Angel prodded him. He jumped. "Hey want a doughnut," Angel asked with a smile handing him a powdered doughnut.
Cosmic snorted, "no thanks, I have no time for treats," his voice was cold as if she had interrupted his thoughts. Shrugging Angel returned to her conversation with Sapphire. But in the back of her mind Angel couldn't help but wonder what was with this guard.

Angel yawned as she awoke. It was a nice spring day and...her birthday! "21", the white mare mused. She couldn't help but grin. Maybe now that she was older she could have more freedom. As it stood now, she had little. She had to have a guard with her if she wanted to go off of the palace grounds and she hated it. So naturally she would sneak off whenever she could. Which was almost everyday.
Angel made her way to the kitchen for breakfast but was stopped by Shinning Armor. "Ah, Angel, Happy birthday kiddo. Would you mind following me? Your grandmother and I would like to speak with you." Confused Angel nodded and follower. He led her to the study room where Cadence was already sitting. "Angel, happy birthday sweetie," Cadence was beaming happily. Angel nodded to her thanking her with a warm smile.
"So....what is going on?" Angle wasn't sure what this was about, but figured it had to do with her birthday. Maybe they were going to let her have her freedom!
"Well....kiddo, you know we love you very much..." Shinning started steadily. "Yes we do, and we want to make sure you are safe," Cadence continued. By this point Angel knew she wasn't getting her birthday wish. In fact she was getting an uneasy feeling in her gut.
"We know you have been sneaking out Angel, and while we understand why, we just can't have you out on your own." Shinning Armor's words surprised Angel. How did they know?!?!? Angel gulped and looked embarrassed. Cadence smiled lovingly at her.
"Dear, you must understand we do this to protect you," her face got serious, "ever since that battle all of Equestria is on high alert, and you would be a perfect target for any of those villains." Angel knew they had a point but she was 21 now surely she would be safe?
"So we ask you, kindly, to have a guard with you if you wish to leave the palace. We ever got you your own personal guard." Angel gasped at her grandpa's words. "But I'm 21!" She pleaded her case to her grandparents to which they replied, that, while that may be so, her magic skills were not strong enough to defend herself from dark magic.
Angel admitted they had a point and reluctantly agreed to the personal guard. After breakfast Shinning introduced Angel to her new guard. Cosmic Blast.
