ESF: Galaxy & Nightmare

A few hours later, Crystal and Mocha were making their way through the Everfree Forest. Mocha's horn was lit up a bright gold to illuminate the shadows and scare off any Timber Wolves that dared attack them. "So, Mocha, why did you want to come with me in the first place?" Crystal asked, trotting beside Mocha. She sighed.

"You're right. We both know Galaxy better than this. He's not the kind of pony to commit murder for no reason, especially to one of my friends. I'm just so fucking tired of the rest of our friends thinking my brother is guilty, that's all." Mocha admitted. Crystal's ears perked up.

"You never told me he was your brother. You two aren't even the same race of pony." She said. Mocha sighed, and looked at Crystal.

"Well, not biologically. Me and Galaxy are so close that we consider each other 'brother and sister'. His biological sister is a bubbly crimson pegasus named Crimson Ink. I tell you, he loves her to pieces." She giggled. Crystal giggled too. "He does love you, you know. He talked about you non-stop when you were were coltfriend and marefriend." Mocha admitted. Crystal's cheeks turned a light red color. Meanwhile, I had found the Mirror Pool and looked into my own reflection.

"Nothing." I sighed. I sat down on all four of my legs, and pretty soon, I began to sing.

My eyes soon widened as I heard another voice pick up the song. I gasped, for I knew the voice, and I feared it everyday of my life. A dark version of me appeared in the pool, grinning and staring right at me.

I looked at my inner self hard in the eyes and sneered, picking up where I left off from the song.

Nightmare soon rose out of the pool, smirking and eyes deep red. I gasped in complete shock as he picked up the song, laughing.

"No, never!" I told my darker side. He laughed.

"Yes, forever!" Nightmare cackled triumphantly. I sneered, not amused.

"God damn you, Nightmare! Take all your evil deeds and rot in Hell!" I told Nightmare, who cackled manically.

"I'll see you there, Galaxy!" He told me as he took the form of shadow and jumped back into me, making one final laugh before his voice vanished for now. I panted heavily, now knowing my answer. I know who killed Melody. It was Nightmare, and he was growing stronger. I had to stop him, no matter what the cost. Outside, Mocha's ear perked up.

"That was Galaxy!" She shouted. Crystal's wings extended to their full length and she took off into the Cave of the Mirror Pool. "Wait!" Mocha called. Crystal stopped. "What was that other voice arguing with Galaxy?" She asked, eyes widening. A flash of blue shot out of the cave mouth by Crystal, which caused her to yelp. Mocha caught up with Crystal and gasped. There, standing in front of them, was the discorded blue pegasus they had seen on the camera footage with a black hole for his cutie mark, and deep, crimson red eyes along with a wicked grin. Mocha growled. Nightmare laughed.

"What's the matter, Mochy?" He taunted. "Still upset I hurt your precious little friend?" He asked in a taunting manner. Mocha was enraged. She fired a magic blast at Nightmare, who sidestepped easily. "I wouldn't do that, you know." Nightmare explained. "It might hurt Galaxy." His eyes glowed. Crystal gasped.

"First we're going to free Galaxy from you, then you'll pay for what you've done, you bastard!" Mocha told Nightmare. "What do you want, anyway?" She asked.

"Ah, I'm very glad you asked that because it gives me this time to explain my evil plan. It's simple really." Nightmare chuckled. "Phase 1: Assume control of Galaxy. Check! Phase 2: Hurt all of his friends and let Galaxy take the blame. 4, no, hang on, and this one you'll get a kick out of, 3: Resurrect Luna's dark side as her own physical being and plunge all of Equestria into darkness! This will be the nightmare that goes on, my friends!" Nightmare laughed evilly. Crystal growled.

"Where does my husband fit exactly in the whole plunging Equestria in darkness?" She demanded. Nightmare looked at her seriously.

"Oh, that's simple, but, can't say, sweetheart. Spoilers." Nightmare smirked. "Until then, I bid you Adieu, Vanilla Mocha and Crystal Harmony. I've got a future queen to resurrect!!" He cackled as he flew off, leaving behind an enraged Mocha and an upset Crystal on the verge of tears.
