The Wishing Ring
Speak Gummy Speak!
Previous ChapterLater Pinkie Pie was upstairs sitting on her bed. Her pet alligator Gummy was trying to chew on her hair. She laughed at him, she then wrapped the baby alligator in a hug, “Oh, I wish you could talk to me Gummy!"
"Wouldn't you be afraid if I did?" The alligator asked.
"Yeah I guess you’re right. I mean really, a talking alligator!" She laughed.
Gummy stared at her, "well I was thinking, maybe I could have something other than cupcakes to ea-" Pinkie Pie interrupted him as she realized he could now talk.
"Oh goodness Gummy your finally talking!" She squealed and hugged him tighter.
"Y-yes now please l-let me go!" He began to choke.
"Oh sorry..." She laughed nervously as she released him, "anyway, now that you can talk, what should we talk about?"
"Well my littler box could use some attention." He replied.
Pinkie looked over to the small box that sat in the corner of the room. Sunlight relaxed on it, causing it to smell super nasty. Pinkie gulped and began to sweat. She looked down at her pet alligator, "I-I thought you would do that..."
"I'm an alligator, I can't." Gummy sighed, "I also don't like eating cupcakes every morning."
"Well, shoot, what am I supposed to feed you, Rocks?" Pinkie asked.
"Well, I do like frogs and snakes.” Gummy replied as he licked his lips eagerly.
Pinkie gasped, "That’s disgusting! How can you eat that garbage?"
"It's what alligators eat." He looked up, "I remember the frog soup my mother would make for me and my siblings..."
Gummy began to tell about everything that goes into making frog soup. Pinkie picked up the ring and look at it. She then looked at Gummy, "I wish you wouldn't talk about that." Gummy's mouth slammed shut by an invisible force. Pinkie sighed with relief, "That was a close one!"
"Can I talk about snake casserole?"
"No!!!"
"Okay fine..." Gummy sighed, "Can we go to the pond and get some food for me to eat?"
"Sure why not!" Pinkie jumped out of bed. After she put the ring back on she picked up Gummy and raced down stairs. The baby alligator held
on as tightly as he could to her hair.
Once they reached the pond Gummy began hunting for frogs and snakes. Pinkie watched from a distance as Gummy picked up a frog
between his jaws. The pink pony looked away, she then saw Rainbow Dash talking with Scootaloo, Pinkie snuck up behind them to listen to their conversation.
"Do you think I'll ever fly?" Scootaloo asked.
Rainbow Dash shrugged, "I don't know. You've been trying hard enough so maybe."
"I wish Scootaloo could fly!" Pinkie whispered.
Suddenly Scootaloo's wings began to flap rapidly and she was lifted into the air. She gasped and began to do back flips and stunts that Rainbow Dash would never be able to do. The cyan winged pony watched in confusion and utter bewilderment.
"Yes!" Pinkie grinned. She began to think about how she could help ponies by granting their wishes! Gummy waddled towards her, he smiled.
"I'm full now, let's get going!" Gummy said.
"Ok!" Pinkie nodded, this was such a strangely awesome day.
They walked home in silence, Gummy then looked up at her, "we could find something fun to do."
Pinkie's eyes widened and a large grin spread across her face. She nodded quickly and then motioned for Gummy to follow her. Pinkie Pie shot off like a rocket down the street; Gummy groaned and then trailed behind.
Pinkie waited for what seemed like forever for her small alligator pal to appear. Once he did, Pinkie began to jump up and down. She pointed to a small carnival.
This carnival would come to Ponyville for only a few days, two or three at the most. It consisted of a small kiddy ride, a freak show and a few lame carnival games. The owners had really let the carnival go after a few weeks of owning it.
The freak show was the place Pinkie really wanted to go. She wanted to mean the snakepony, the pony with three heads and the most terrifying of all, the Dragogriffinpony. The strange creature was a pony with a Griffin's face and wings; it also had a dragon tail and could breathe fire!
"Maybe for a different story..." Gummy said.
Pinkie sighed and began to leave slowly; Gummy followed her, the two walked in sync.
"We could use the wishing ring you found to help your friends." Gummy suggested, hoping to lift her spirits.
"That's an awesome idea!" Pinkie squealed, "We can start with Fluttershy!" Pinkie grabbed Gummy and bolted towards her friend's cottage.
Fluttershy was watering her flowers when Pinkie appeared; the small yellow winged pony backed up in fear until she noticed it was just her friend. Pinkie began to bounce, "Hey Fluttershy, Fluttershy I found this magic ring and it grants wishes!" Pinkie grinned
"That's nice." Fluttershy smiled kindly.
"Gosh Fluttershy, I wish you were super brave." Pinkie gasped and shielded her mouth but it was too late. The ring began to glow, Fluttershy backed up. The yellow pony looked at Pinkie, her scared expression turned to excitement.
"Hey, it does work." She said, her voice wasn't soft anymore, it was now up to normal volume, and maybe a little deeper too.
“What happened to your voice?” Pinkie asked.
“I don’t know, but I feel like doing something brave!” Fluttershy replied with a devilish grin.
“What do you mean?” Pinkie asked as she looked at the ring on her hoof; it must have turned Fluttershy into a brave pony.
“No time to explain!” Fluttershy replied, “I’ve got a show to put on!” The once shy pony ran off after saying, “Get the others and tell them to come over here tomorrow around this time!”
“Okay…?” Pinkie replied as she backed up.
