Letters to Princess Celestia from Queen Quake
Letter 1: Diablo
Load Full StoryNext ChapterQueen Quake arrived in her new palace. There was very little doubt in her mind this was just the start of her rule over San Franciscolt and her ability to gain her revenge as well as rock this world to it's foundations for her to, build a much more solid foundation upon. However, something was bothering her; her henchponies had abandoned the Queen at the moment of her victory. One proving to only be out for himself and the other simply choosing to have a heart despite her teachings about the goals of power and using that power, because you can. She marched around the palace, looking from right to left at her loyal subjects working, making it where she did not have to lift a hoof.
For now however, the mare was seeking her scribe, she wanted to get her words out onto paper but whom to address? Who should she contact and why?
The Queen pondered upon this, her pondering of course more like causing small localized earthquakes as she stomped around her throne room. The construction of the floor would likely have to improve. Queen Quake introspected herself now, looking inward and taking a long deep breathe as she prepared her thoughts.
To hear the Voice Acted Version of the conversation:

"Richter Scales, Take a Note," Queen Quake said, her voice giving a slight echo within the chamber
"I...yes my queen?" The tiny dragon replied and took out a quill pen to begin to write.
"Dear Princess Celestia, how does one deal with betrayal? Because as it turns out my court sorcerer Diablo, has indeed been a traitor all along."
Richter Scales stopped writing and interjected, "According to both old stories thought to be legend and recent Equestrian history, The Princess's sister, Luna, was banished to the moon after attempting to usurp the throne. And before that the entity known as Discord-"
"If I had wanted one of your history lectures, I would have told you so. Do not interrupt me while I am dictating! This is a letter you are supposed to be writing you little walking pile of slate scale." The Queen shot back to silence the much smaller dragon.
"Of course, your Royal Stone-hearted-ness."
Queen Quake gave him a low growl and glared at her scribe for a moment before continuing, "We have recently encountered some...decent within our ranks and understand that you have dealt with such before. The matter in question is one on which I have little time to dwell as I have so many Queenly responsibilities with which to concern myself now that I am ruler of Sanfransicolt and the remodeling has already begun."
"You mean like sitting on your flank and bemoaning all your woes and leaving me to keep everything in order as constantly stomp about bi-" The drake interrupted again.
"ENOUGH! WE DID NOT CALL YOU HERE TO COMMENT UPON OUR RULING STYLE!" The mare bellowed at the top of her lungs. "Now, to return to the topic: We have encountered others who would resist us and the natural claims we hold as the Queen in of our lands. And had hoped to continue to rule our kingdom after the acquisition of a particular artifact. But thanks to the uncouth machinations of one of our underlings, We must both find some other method to detain him and a suitable punishment for this scoundrel."
"Aren’t you magnitudes more powerful than he is? How did you let him get away with it?" The smaller dragon asked.
"The convention had some form of...shielding that made it impossible for us to use most of our power. I was only left with the Power of the Voice, super-equine strength, and dazzling beautiful looks." Queen Quake replied in a tone that seemed unquestionable to those around her.
"...right."
"Why you-!" The Queen of Earthquakes began.
"Anyway. What about that Golden Gate girl and her non-ferrous family?" Richter Scales asked to try to change the subject of the mare's wrath.
"My henchponies, without consulting me, struck a deal with them to have the attendees of the con vote whom they wished to win the staff. Upon completion of this little farce I was awarded the staff which that fool then swiped and ran off. When I tried to catch him, there was a bright brimstone flash and the staff as well as he were gone." She replied to his question, composing herself somewhat.
"Wow. Sounds like you got the short end of the stick." Richter Scales said, his voice completely deadpan and absolutely emotionless despite the pun he had just made. This caused Queen Quake to sputter for a moment before the drake continued to speak. "So say again why Princess Celestia would be willing to help you?"
"She is a foolish and weak willed monarch who...why are you writing this down?"
"You WERE dictating to me." The dragon replied.
"No, you impudent drake. I was answering your question." The mare said as her rage grew.
"Ah." The small fire breathing lizard replied.
"I have no time for you if you are not going to take me seriously! I swear, Richter Scales, if you could only keep your place most of the time, I wouldn’t feel the need to cause 9.0’s on a daily BASIS!" Queen Quake shouted before stomping off leaving small impressions and dents in her new palace floor.
"Wait! Quake, I was trying to make you feel better. I am sorry for bringing up stuff that made you mad. Hey, let's go outside and smash some stuff then we can come back to this some other time." Richter Scales called out, realizing he had fully incurred the Queen's wrath. Though unlike her other minions, the Queen had never struck him; only stomped off in frustration.
"Finally. An agreeable suggestion."
The two of them walked off into the court yard for a moment. There is the sound of smashing, and the earth itself shook a little as the localized earthquakes were made by the hooves of Queen Quakes massive impacts. Richter scales simply made sure to stay out of the way of the mare, he knew better having been with her for so very long and very happy to have her back. It was a strange relationship indeed but one that would not explored, not yet anyway. In the mean time, the Queen of Quakes was making her way towards the Golden Gate bridge, as far as she was concerned, she needed "Unique" materials for her throne room and perhaps the most unique in the city would most certainly do. There was of course a small dragon in tow with her, patting her claws along the pavement in the impressions of her still seething angry hoofprints left through the sidewalk. At least Queen Quake wasn't smashing the roads on her way to the Golden Gate Bridge.
