The Pinkie Pie Parable

This is a story about a pony called Pinkie Pie. Pinkie Pie was employee number 427 in her job at Cupcakes inc. Every day, Pinkie did the same thing. Cupcakes came through a panel in her office. Her job was moved them from one side of the office to the other side and move the cupcakes onto the next office. Others may find this job boring, but Pinkie enjoyed every second of it, like she was made exactly for this job. And Pinkie was happy...

But then one day something very strange happened.

She had been sitting at her desk for almost an hour, when she realised not a single cupcake had come through. She hadn’t seen any pony as she walked in. No pony even dropped in to say hi. Something was wrong.

Shocked Frozen solid, Pinkie found herself unable to move for the longest time. But as she regained her wits, she got up from her desk and walked out of the office.

…She got up from her desk and walked out of the office. Hello? Is anypony there? She got- Pinkie! Are you asleep? Oh. Guess I’ll have to restart…again…goodie.
