Chapters Typhon Primaris, lush jungle world of sub-sector Aurelia and recruiting world of the Blood Ravens. In less than one minute it changed into a hellish wasteland of exposed mantle and brittle, burnt rock. The Ordo Malleus were the ones responsible for this. They had decreed the sub-sector tainted and infested with heretics and xenos, they had ordered exterminatus, cleansing all life from the sub-sector, human and xenos, corrupt and innocent. Typhon Primaris was the first, its death was temporarily halted by an Eldar seer council, only to be renewed by their deaths at the hands of Eliphas the Inheritor, my lord.
I am Bartlet, servant of Eliphas secondly and Slaanesh firstly. I am a Noise Marine, a Chaos Space Marine devoted entirely to the god of excess, lust, pain, pleasure, perfection, and hedonism. After being bargained away like a mere cultist by my Noise Champion into the hands of Eliphas, I had served him vigilantly in his quest to defeat the likewise heretical Azariah Kyras, chapter master and chief librarian of the Blood Ravens from sacrificing the chapter itself to Khorne. I followed Eliphas to Typhon Primaris, in hopes of defeating Azariah, only to meet the claws of exterminatus at the hands of the Inquisition. As I stood there, the planet writhe, scream, and convulse underneath my own feet, and witness it dying with eyes full of hatred for the Inquisition and Azariah Kyras,
I prayed to Slaanesh.
My prayers were answered.
But not by him.
Twilight was searching the royal archives in Canterlot keep, but she was far from the very place herself. Infact, she was still in Ponyville, inside of her makeshift library home, mentally probing the magical defenses of the forbidden archives. She had no doubt in the fact that she could penetrate the archives without leaving any trace of her entrance with her magical abilities alone, she just required immense concentration and isolation. To achieve this, she given Spike a day off to pursue his desires or needs at his own leisure under the guise of a mind splitting headache, he had accepted this easily enough, perhaps hoping to see his amore, Rarity.
After a moment of that would be the magical equivalent of twenty running of the leaves at the same time, amplified by ten, Twilight slipped into the archives, past the barriers. Free to explore the forbidden tomes unmolested, she quickly analyzed the books in one quick moment, finding only one tome describing something interesting. She inspected it more closely. She did sense it right, this book had the instructions for a summoning spell, but not just any summoning spell. A summoning spell which would allow the caster to summon anything or anypony instantly from any location! She quickly sponged up every last word and detail from it, absorbing it's knowledge quickly and effectively, and she severed the link to the archives, a single thought appearing in her head.
Why was this forbidden?
She didn't understand, this could potentially advance convenience tenfold, she wondered why her enlightened teacher and ruler, Celestia had hidden this. In the simplest of terms, she was puzzled. Excited, she decided to test the spell. Quickly pouring over the stored instructions, she prepared to summon the empty glass infront of her next to her feet. A purple glow surrounded her likewise purple horn as she prepared the spell, cautiously going slow. The glow surrounding her horn increased into a buzzing haze, small sparks and embers drifting and popping off, she took no notice however, as her eyes were closed in concentration. Just as she released the massive amount of buzzing energy, she was thrown backward by a loud boom. Eyes still closed in concentration and her head swaying with the dizziness of being thrown back, she asked herself.
Was that a side-effect of the spell?
Slowly, she opened her eyes, before turning her head and standing were her bed was once, was a monolithic statue staring at her with neon, purple eyes.
"What is the meaning of this summon?" I found myself asking the startled horned, purple animal infront of me. The creature simply stared at me, dumbfounded.
"Answer me whelp." I ordered, getting impatient.
"Uhh..uh.." The creature stuttered, with a voice reminiscent of femininity.
"Now!" I commanded, growing intensely irritated.
"Wel-l, I'm Twilight Spa-" She started, only to have me cut off.
"I do not give a shit about who you are! Tell me why you summoned me and I may spare you."
Shortly before she could offer an explanation, a nearby window was burst open, one of her species flew in on feathered wings, it lacked a horn, it's coat was a neon cyan and it's tail and mane were split into the different colours of the rainbow.
"I did it Twi! I did another Soo..." She yelled triumphantly, but slowly trailed off as she saw me.
"Whats this?" She asked, curiously, as she slowly stepped forward, only to have me raise my side-arm, a bolt pistol with a pink trim and a Slaaneshi icon burnt into the side and filled with purple wax, aimed at her.
"Stay back, xenos scum! Or I will eviscerate you!" I snarled.
"Oh yeah? Mister tough guy eh? I can take you!" She said, barely taking into account my stature. In response, I quickly turned my gaze to the other creature and fired at it's horn, severing it at it's tip, the bolt tearing through the wall behind it with a deafening bang.
The purple one simply gaped in shock at her broken horn, but the cyan one was angry.
"What the hell? Who do you think you are!" She yelled, before pouncing at me, only to have her yanked out of the air by my hand, suspending her above the floor by her neck, choking her.
"Ignorant fool.." I said, throwing her across the room with a flick of my wrist, she crashed into a small table, severing it in half, she was unconscious. The purple one was still shocked, staring at the scene instead of her shattered horn. I grabbed her by her cracked horn, and dragged her over to the center of the room, withdrawing a blade from my side.
"W-what are you doing?" She gasped, incredibly scared.
I did not respond with words, my actions spoke louder than them. I held her down with my right hand, and slowly sawed off the purple and pink star marking on her flank with the rusted, purple blade. She let out an agonizing scream as the skin was torn off, a small amount of muscle and fat dangling from it. Where the marking was, there was now a bloody crater of exposed muscle, the skin torn right off.
"This will make a good standard, thank you." I complimented with a cheerful tone.
"W-w-wh-hy?" She stuttered out, sobbing.
"Because I've got nothing better to do." I replied, letting a small laugh escape my lips and through the vox of my pink helmet.
Twilight lay gasping and sobbing on the floor, blood gushing from the crater in her flank, paralyzed in fear. The monster above her simply stood, staring at her, with her bloodied cutie mark rolled up like a scroll in his purple, stained gauntlet. He was enjoying this, she thought. He was waiting for her to die. He wasnt doing anything to quicken her death, which meant he was torturing her. And he was still here, which meant he wanted something with her, instantly her mind drawed to one conclusion. He was going to mutilate her body, and do Celestia-knows-what to Rainbow Dash. Despite her heavy thinking, she was in intense pain, before she knew it however, her eyes closed, and she fell asleep.
Forever.
Bartlet let out a small chuckle as she died, this was going to be fun he thought. He dragged her to the side, leaving a wide trail of blood. He walked over to the cyan one, she had bruised her head somewhat on the table. He picked her up, dragging her up the wall. He held her up by the neck with one hand, and grabbed a wooden shard from the broken table, he slowly brought it up, and smashed it into her left hoof, suspending her in the air from the wall. He let go, letting her dangle from one hoof, and brought another shard into her right hoof, he stood back and waited for her to wake up.
Her eyes slowly drifted, but most her her vision was blocked in a haze of red blurriness. She slowly dragged her eyes across the room, the walls were relatively clean, but the floor was covered in blood, and then she realized she was suspended in the air. Snapping out of her daze, she quickly brought her vision to her left hoof, nailed into the wall with a bloody chunk of wood. She saw the same on the right hoof, then she saw the monster clearly for the first time. It was a tall statue thing that stood on two legs, easily dwarfing Celestia or a diamond dog. It's skin, or what she assumed was skin, was purple, and had a light pink ivory trim, it had a pair of hands instead of hoofs, it's fingers and palm covered in blood. On it's chest was a golden six pointed star, three of it's arms reaching around it's back. On it's pauldrons was a strange pink symbol she didn't realize, and the other pauldron was another six pointed star, but in a more condensed state with a red eye in the center. It's head was dominated by two miss-matched horns descending down it's light pink face, purposely missing the neon pink eyes so to not obstruct it's vision. What she saw next made stomach churn. The monster grabbed Twilight from the ground, her cutie-mark was cut off.
"It didnt have to be like this, you know. I could have raped you both." He said with a small chuckle, examining the mutilated corpse.
"I wonder what I could do with this? Hmm, oh yes that could work!" He yelled, grabbing the base of her neck and her chin. he slowly tore her head off, her spine, esophagus, and muscles snapping from the intense pressure. He let her beheaded body fall into a blood heap on the floor, and brought her head upwards, into the light.
"What a nice head, how do you think it will be on a pole, hmm?" He asked, still examining the head. When she didnt reply, he turned his head to look at her. She was dropping to the floor, her jaw wide open, a small amount of vomit dripping from it.
"Hmm, It'd be nice right above yours, I think!" After this statement, Rainbow Dash snapped out of her shock.
"No! Please no! NO!" She screamed as he advanced menacingly, purple blade clutched tightly in his hand. After a long moment, he quickly slashed through her neck, sparing her the pain. With both heads in his hands, he set them down on the floor, and searched the room for a pole, when he found none, he strolled out of the room, down the stairs and found himself in what looked like a library. Peering over the spines of nearby books, he picked out a history book, and read the first word and closed the book. He thought correct, these animals looked familiar, these ponies. He then searched this lower floor for a pole, when he found none he again went to search elsewhere. He crouched down and side-stepped through the small door, and he found himself in a vibrant, bright town. Looking around, he strolled along, trying to find a pole.
Ten Hours Later
Spike sat on Rarity's back as she was hauling a cart of gems into town, for the entire day they had hunted for gems and jewels. They no longer feared the diamond dogs, and this allowed them more frequent outings. Rarity was happy because she could make more dresses, and Spike was happy because he had an excuse to help her. As they came into town however, it looked deserted. There were no ponies in sight.
"I wondered where everypony went?" Spike inquired, ignorant of what would come.
"I wouldnt worry Spike." Rarity said with her usual cheerfulness, when they spotted Applejack in her stand.
"Hey, Applejack!" Spike yelled.
"Oh hey there sugarcubes, y'know where everypony went off to?" She asked.
"We wouldnt know, we just got back from gem hunting, are you closing up soon?" Rarity said.
"Ah sure ahm, lemme close up fer what it's worth an' we'l go to Twilight's together." Applejack said as she closed up.
"I can handle this Spike, go help Applejack close up." Rarity said, Spike climbing off her back and walking to Applejack's stand, helping her close up. She trotted away to her boutique, she went around back and opened the back door, unhitching the cart in her storeroom. She then trotted out, locking the door, and went back to Applejack's stand, all closed up.
"Alright y'all, lets go see what everypony's up ta."
"Oi, mista' Nailbrain, status reporta!" Kaptin Bluddflagg ordered, picking himself up and straightening out his hat.
"Status reporta's broke." Mr. Nailbrain stated, shoving a nail into his mouth.
"Then zoggin' fix it, yeh sorry git!" He ordered, stretching his arms. The small mekboy proceeded to amble up to the status reporta, wacking it with a wrench twice.
"Alright boss, it's fixed, 'an it says it doesnt know 'ere we are."
"Arghh, zog it all.. Is dere any of dem Inquisiter fellers aroun' 'ere?" Bluddflagg asked.
"Da git-finda aint pikin' up anytin', no gribblies, humies, or even those poncy Eldars, 'ere only a little planet in dis system.
"That planet might be good lootin'." The storm nob, Brikkfist said, blundering into the room.
"Dus it have a moon? We could sneak up on 'em on'a moon." The kommando nob, Spookums said, seemingly popping in from thin-air.
"Dont ye gits think anytin' fru? If dere aint any humies, then 'ere aint good lootin'." Berrated Bluddflagg.
"Wait kaptin, the git-finda is pikin' sumtin up! Dere a spikey boy down dere!" Mr. Nailbrain yelped.
"Jus' one? Ah.. zog it all, dont botha' gatherin' the boys, me'n Brikkfist wull go down fer what it's worth." Bluddflagg said, dissapointed.
"Prepare the teleporta!"
"Twilight, are you there? Twilight?" Yelled Applejack, in-between knocks.
"I guess she's not home, lets try Fluttershy's instead." Rarity offered.
"No, how about you go inside and check for her." A voice said behind them, they all turned around to see Bartlet at their flanks, a blastmaster in his hands.
"Now who the heck are you to.. to.." Applejack trailed off, seeing Twilight's cutiemark suspended between two poles welded into his powerpack, and Twilight's, Rainbow Dashes, and Pinkie Pie's heads impaled on a smaller pole behind the gruesome banner.
"You-y-u killed them! You killed all of the town! Why?" Rarity demanded, in shock.
"It's in my nature, now go inside and check for Twilight, for what it's worth." He said, stroking the bloodied, messy mane of Twilight's decapitated head, the pole going through her crushed esophagus and up through her pupil, the iris contracting around the rusty, blood stained pole.
"Rarity, take Spike 'n run, I'l hold 'im off!" Applejack yelled, getting inbetween Rarity and Bartlet, which only caused him to laugh and raise his blastmaster.
"Run Rar-" Applejack yelled, but was cut off as the blastmaster let loose a screaming bolt of sound, bursting Applejack's eyes and eardrums in a mess of vitreous humour and blood.
Rarity ran as fast as she could, Spike clinging to her mane, just as he let out a burp and a burst of green flame, a scroll falling from his mouth and quickly far from them as Rarity galloped away. Bartlet knew full well he could catch up to them easily, but he let them go and instead went for the letter.
My faithful student Twilight Sparkle,
my chief astronomers and my sister Luna have informed me of an anomaly that has recently formed in our solar system. An object of extraordinary size, and shape resembling a grand boat is now orbiting the planet. Due to magical probing techniques, we have deermined it is hollow in sections and has a breathable atmosphere. I invite you to join our science team in exploring it. Included is a map to the meeting place, I hope you will accept this invitation and join the team in exploring a new frontier.
Your teacher and ruler,
Princess Celestia.
"So, the Judgement of Carrion has arrived." Bartlet said, staring into the sky.
