Determination in Equestria

The scream seemed to be from the center of PonyVille so that's where I ran to, when I got there I saw a griffin yelling at FluterShy and ducks running away.(Pieced it together) "Hey, griffon. Stop yelling for a moment." I said.

"What do- what ARE you anyway?"

"Nick Fitzgerald, human the one who fought Night Mare Moon, ring any bells?" I asked.

"What do you want?" The griffon asked next.

"Well if we are being honest I'd like it if you stopped yelling at that shy pegasus." I said flatly. "I'd also like to know what a griffin, a carnivore, Is doing in a town of ponies?"

"What makes you think it's your business anyway!?" The griffin yelled back.

"Hey you asked what I wanted, I said just that." I said. This seemed to put her over the deep end because she let out a loud screech and ran at me with her talons ready to strike, I was caught off guard and was scratched in the face. She the griffin started to attack more so I started dodging her blows until she was tired. "You done yet?" I asked not amused.

"N-Not yet!" She yelled as she started attacking again.

I caught one of her punches and held her fist in place. "Stop, You are exhausted and this is the closest thing to hitting me you have done since this started!" I said. "Now, I am going to let you go, and if you don't stop I WILL fight back and considering I haven't broken a sweat yet, I highly recommend stopping" I said as I let her fist go.

"D-Don't think this is over!" The griffin yelled as she flew away.

Yeah, I at least will have to explain my injuries to Twilight, and the confrontation to Rainbow. I walked back to Twilight's house knowing that walking around with cuts on my face wasn't the best idea Damn it, that griffin, Gilda messed up my walk!

I got back to the library and after explaining everything to Twilight, she healed my wounds. I looked in a mirrior and saw four talon marks (Two of witch go down and over an eye). I also saw the gash down my back (I was slow a dodge.) and sighed.

Later that day I was at a party and knew it was for Gilda, I also could tell that Gilda lied about how our confrontation went. But I was surprised me was that Dash didn't scream or yell at me.

As the party went on I watched as Gilda was getting pranked, she blamed Pinkey bit I saw that it was Rainbow that was setting them up. But then my heart sank slightly "Nick, get over here." Rainbow said, anger slipping into her voice. I went over to her. "Why were you fighting Gilda for no reason!?" She yelled at me, more anger present in her tone.

"WHAT!? Me fight HER!? Do you NOT see that I am covered in scratch marks while SHE has not even the slightest mark!?" I yelled back, anger and betrayal flooding me and my voice.

"Apologize!" Rainbow said, clearly not listening of what I said.

"Whatever." I said as I walked over to her. "Look Gilda, I said some things, and I am sorry, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me." I said to Gilda, trying to sound as sincere as possible.

"Whatever, I don't need an apology from an utter dweeb!" She said, scorn, disrespect her voice, but above all else she had a knowing smile on her face.

That sent me over the edge. I felt the demon power rising in me. "Whatever Gilda, I don't need to apologize to a lazy griffin who is SO stubborn that she can't take an apology much less give one out!!!" I yelled, finishing as I slammed the door shut. I took off my top but held on to it, let my wings out and I flew away as fast as possible.

As I landed in the Everfree I knew somepony was watching me but I didn't acknowledge them, instead I started hitting trees. After some of my anger subsided I called out to the pony watching me. "Hey, you like what you see or something!? Come out!"

I saw Applejack and Rainbow Dash come out from behind trees "How did you know?" They asked together.

"You two suck at stealth." I said. "Now what do you two want? I doubt that you two came here to see me hit trees." I said

"I wanted to know what really happened and I brought AJ to make sure you tell the truth." Dash said.

"Okay Rainbow, (I told them about our confrontation). Now while I WILL admit that I was a little out of line in my words, that at least to me, doesn't excuse her entirely either." I said, finishing sternly

"He's telling the truth." AJ said somewhat flatly.

"i.....I'm sorry I got mad at you without hearing your side." Rainbow said, many tears (especially for Rainbow) slipping out.

"Rainbow, I forgive you, just don't make this mistake again." I said, trying to comfort the crying mare. "Let's go home and tell nopony about this." "AJ if anypony asks you, just do us a favor and leave out Rainbow crying." I said. "Rainbow, you need to dry your tears." I said wiping her eyes.

"Don't worry about us non' we'll be fine." AJ said holding Dash.

"Okay..." I said as I put on my shirt and walked back to PonyVille.
