Radiotrophic
Epilogue
Previous ChapterWe decided that night that it was war. Not because it had to be, but because a little conflict was exactly what we needed. One day we’d either outlast Sunset, or she’d wind up an immortal and outlast herself, but we could never resist a competition. Gambling, battling, scratching tooth and nail, it was all our element, or else what this place made it.
We were all in good moods as we patched our first wounds in this world. In a way, we'd been waiting for this since we landed here. It would take another two years to gather enough negative energy to make a full set of amulets, working around the clock. Makeshift combinations of pieces wouldn’t be very useful against Shimmer, and that was only fair, because anything short of that sword wouldn’t scratch us.
She sat at the nexus of two universes, keeping it safe, maybe watching us. We were oceans away, gathering power. One day, we’d have enough to make the whole world adore us.
